What a stupid thread.... begnning salaries and other salaries have a lot more to do with which major than which college... colleges with a large engineering and tech depts will outperform most of the ones than don't... As a Un. Houston coach said in the '70s after defeating Tulsa with over 100 points and getting criticized .... that he had used everyone of about 85 players and the other team did agree to play and not just stand there. I'm impressed ....they lost 28-31 to Auburn.... had 8 more first downs.... 7 less yards .... and lost in overtime ... and in a week after defeating Arkansas.... and not a fluke game there either. Wonder how LaTech feels because they apparently are always trashing La-Monroe.... although they defeated Houston last week.

Big East is losing Pittsburgh too. --- The Big East is huge still, especially basketball (16 teams this year) ... just not in football..... I don't see U Conn.., St.Johns ..., Seton Hall .... Marquette..., DePaul..., Providence...,etc. wanting to add more CUSA universities.. Louisville, Cincinnatti, Memphis, Houston, were attactive because of their basketball history more than football ... toss in SMU to keep Houston happy as a regional opponent and besides they are fairly well known and have some football history (some bad) ..... and is a private school as many of them are . --- This whole BE deal especially SMU reminds me of an old guy who leaves his long-term stable wife for a young hot chick who then takes his money and leaves. They left a rather stable conference ( CUSA ) for a supposedly bigger name one and the name colleges there ..then those names (football-wise) up and leave. SMU is now screwed. Lots of travel expense, no close opponents other than Houston and not a lot of local fan interest in teams they play... --- I have always felt the Big East breakup would happen and cause a somewhat domino effect because it is so huge and basketball only schools don't get along well with the football ones... that was a large factor in what killed the old Missouri Valley that I knew at UNT when I was a student. .

What use does a math major have of a library or knowing anything about the past.....Who cares what happened in 1532.... Not once did I ever go there because of any need in a math class. [ cheapest dept on campus .. but we spend a lot of money on expensive markers or chauk ...students buy their own calculators ] --- He may be a PHD candidate.... but he is as dumb as a goat....... He should have majored in a subject with a lot of numbers involved [ accounting, finance, engineering, mathematics, science, computers ] .... more jobs available and usually pays better than a history major. hahaha --- Besides ... how much publicity does a history dept. get or get our university noticed and how much money is donated to the university because of a great history program.. bet the sports program brings in more. ---- don't trash me... lots of sarcasm here...but not entirely ----

---Compared to what I saw during the Dodge era... this was great.... That was only a couple years ago so this is a huge improvement. Yes... I would like to win but I accept this without a problem.
