--My point was... not every screw up or bit of bad information in early stages ... should be considered political or even a lie..... EVERY President has had situations that they wish they could do-over again... Pearl Harbor, 9-11, and many, many more... quit yelling politics every-time something happens ... People are not perfect (as you seem to think you are) Every news (or whatever) report in early stages is suspect as well and usually contains errors.... Sometimes what you think you see or hear is not what happened . Doubt this ....go ask any lawyer about eye-witnesses and how reliable they are and how accurate their info is (son is a lawyer). When I was at NT, a prof talked about an incident that had happened in a class (history I think and discussing accuracy of reports). A gunman runs in a class, fake shoots the prof (said bang a few times), who then falls behind the desk and the gunman runs out. Then the class had to write a report describing what happened... some even included the type of gun, and number of bangs ( it was actually a brown banana).. The reports were widely different and all saw the same thing. [ thank goodness no student had the right to carry a gun and shot him ] Early reports are often bad and flawed. I have heard Baylor Law School had done a similar thing in a class about eye witness reliability. This stunt might not be a good idea in today's world.

I see the respect comment .... now that I mentioned it has been lacking... that is not the way it has been... everyone that disagrees with you on anything is labeled a liberal... or unpatriotic .... socialist.. considered unChristian .... or something worse... go back and read what you have been writting in the past... and show those who disagree some respect...enough was enough.... that was the reason for my rant this time...... You are not always right and neither am I... but I don't consider those who disagree with me as a fool.... or anti-American ... you may not either but it sure comes across that way. and no I had not read the link... you did not state he was a cop... but none of this about the police or military weapons anyway... How many years have you spent as a teacher/administrator in a school and observed the crowded halls and classroom and what really goes on from that point of view... I spent 30 there and also 35 in a College (still there) ... [ obviously both at times ] I doubt I am an expert at your job and you aren't on what schools do.... being a student doesn't count... sort of like a fan at a football game... the fan has a clue, but not much if he has never played. We have shopped at Walmart... maybe should apply for an executive position there. ..... One side of the desk is greatly different than the other. From your posts is seems fairly obvious I have a lot more experience with practical use of guns than just considering some toy to use on a weekend. Have you ever lived in a rural area and "needed" them regularly... I have.

. Never said that 1-2 shots should end a true "gun fight".... again how often does a average citizen get into a actual gun fight to protect himself.... we not talking police whose job might get them to that point. Almost all break-ins etc. usually end with 1-2 shots fired or rarely a few more... 140 rounds?? why...? A real sniper rarely shoots more than once... after the second or maybe third shot most people and me can usually tell exactly where the gun fire was from. Snipers never do that. Do you know anything about shooting?.. I can't even name one incident involving homeowner etc. that qualifies as a gunfight involving more than a few shots. ... Do you have a clue how much 140 rounds weigh or how much space that takes.??? Where does he keep it.. in a briefcase? .... definitely not in pockets. Again why ?... Is he expecting to be mugged by a drug gang... he would be dead long before using up that much ammo.. .

... Find where I have praised this administration... I just support honesty .... and the the debt problem started after 2001 not 2009..... and the banking crisis and the Iraq invasion with no actuall justification (WMD?).... and the claims that Obama is an Islamic Kenyan ( false.. explain the two birth announcement in the two Hawaiian newspapers the week after his birth ..that was once done.. not now.. privacy issues ) or any evidence he was been islamic.. ( his step-father was, and he did not live with him very long, 3-4 years ... his Christian American white grandparents raised him in Hawaii after age 9) If you are honestly conservative...How about some criticism of the debt from 2001-2009....it doubled ... equaling the total of all 42 previous administrations... and it isn't changing because Congress isn't passing anything meaningful because of the Norquist pledge ( backed by those who think they are super-rich.. and mostly aren't). Gates, Buffet even the older Bush thinks it is nuts... so are they liberals too? Police guns fights..??.. how often does regular citizens get in one... I never said police should not own them. You are twisting things again.

.. Not legal if fully automatic... as the military uses. ... ( at least that is all I have ever read). either way it is subject to gun-control..... and better not not be caught with a very short-barrel shotgun either (more gun control) .... a friend in HS had one.... town kid... ruined the barrel by getting dirt in barrel then fired it... 410 single shot, and sawed it off and the stock somewhat... looked like an old pistol... I and about no one else knew he had it.... not a bad kid...sorta stupid... therefore no point in telling anyone.... his problem if caught with it.

.. Hunting --several things... game.. ducks and doves mostly... (my land).. strangest thing I have shot was a Emu rooster... that damn thing was on my land and was circling me wanting to fight me ( tall as I am, huge toes with huge nails )... shot him (.22, one shot and one to finish him off) when he decided to make a run for my son.... last gun bought.. Winchester 37 (estate sale of friend) ... single shot 16 guage... didn't have a break-over single shotgun which is handy to have and very safe around other people.. use it or use one of my .22's to shoot raccoons snakes, and varmits near at barn where they chew up feed sacks. Oldest gun -- 1892 Winchester pump 12 gauge shotgun.. my grandfathers. [ short barrel version used by police for years ] Still works well. Also have his 5-shot pistol (some odd brand, may be older) .. have more.. Yes the debt is still out of control and Congress passes nothing.... mostly because of the idiotic Norquest pledge... they owe their alligence to the USA not some fool. You have no clue what conservative really is.... and apparently no clue what an assault weapon is.... do you support legaling Tommy guns, BARs, bazookas then if you are so anti-gun control... ? If you are a half-way decent shot 1-2 shots should do unless you in a druggie gun battle. Where is your "conservative outrage" over the last administration getting the insane increase in the debt started (actually doubled)..... you are not really conservative then. Never said you were a white supremist... just that you think and state people who disagree with you are liberal socialist nuts that are inferior [ as they do... no respect for others that disagree ].

.. -- There are an insane number of times you have called me out personally...[ I just returned the favor ] and I continue to answer one question over and over... an assault weapon is any type gun capable of killing 20 people in 20 seconds... I will not and can not name them all. No doubt there may be a few extreme views of a few people that would like to ban all guns.... but that isn't going to happen..... and even almost all Democrats, GOP, or whatever would agree with that..... But that is not what the NRA and some people are claiming.... Never have I supported banning anything other than something is considered an assault weapons... I own guns.. and have hunted since I was a kid. (I have a rural background). You twist everything... . as for being a liberal .... I was one that wanted debts paid as we went...(it was climbing at less 2% per year or less than the interest rate on it) prior to 2001... I also didn't think we had any business invading a country that might not be any threat to us... and sure enough no nuke program as most Europeans insisted was true.... I did not want Americans killed, blinded injured, mained etc. for no reason or a very poor one.. it seemed patriotic to oppose what I viewed as mistake . .. not the opposite.... My two best friends in HS died as the result of Nam.. my wife's father died as the result of WWII... I hate war when it is not necessary... but you think I am an unpatriotic liberal and have so stated. I don't think you have a clue what conservative really means... financially paying your debts and otherwise minding your own business and not telling everyone else how/what to believe seems conservative to me.... How about some honesty... !! About the only thing liberal about me is religion... so long as it isn't doing anyone any harm (excludes terroists doesn't It) believe as you want... go where you want... besides every denomination has a lot of things others don't believe so don't try to turn schools, government etc. into churches. There are even Christians there that believe differently... [ drinking, contraception, dress standards, womens hair lenghth, or even some (Amish) oppose modern electrical and auto use, etc ] ______ --- "Now, go ahead and insult me some more. After all, it is what liberals are good at."-- well that fits you... and so does your attitude toward the national debt from 2001 on.... did not see you complaining about it.... I was. ..

People seem to forget that a lot of people (more than a million of us) in their 60's ( more or less ) have seen combat ( Nam or,Desert Storm ), may have actually shot or killed people, and are very comfortable with guns and know how to use them and know the dangers as well. I am not anti gun.. I own them and am over 60. What I am opposed to is guns that can kill 20 people in 20 seconds... military and security or police may have a use for them but not the rest of us. I am sick of the damn NRA trying to picture it as people are trying to take our guns... that is a lie... just ban certain ones..... just BE HONEST..... Would an assault gun been helpful here... NO... and very rarely would they be better than a typical pistol or shotgun. As for for teachers carrying guns in school... that would be a terrible mistake ... the risk/reward rate is awful... more people would be killed by accidents than saved. Not opposed to some guns being on campus... just not teachers carrying one. Again lots of bad info out there. ... [ I have spent 40 years on campuses ] I am sure UNT90 will think I am a stupid socialist or pagan liberal for my beliefs .. he does that to everyone that dares disagree with him. (so does the Aryan brotherhood) I suppose if you are anti assault weapon ban .. you also want Tommy guns and bazookas allowed. ....after all we already have some gun control... think about it...

Cowboys Draft

Re: the trade... They traded their first Round pick and got center Travis Frederick (a center and needed one) plus got a third round pick which was Terrance Williams (Baylor wide-receiver) in return.... I am a lot less critical than some with the trade.... they went for a big need and not to best available.... If possible... go get Eric Winston (offensive line, was with Texans) who is a free agent (if they can afford him)... the line (and Romo) could use the help. They drafted no offensive tackles. I look for Houston and Denver to fight for AFC next year.. Ravens and New England... weaker. NFC... who knows ( Green Bay, Atlanta, New Orleans, San Francisco and maybe a NFC east team )..?? .http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2013/4/28/4279770/2013-nfl-draft-results-dallas-cowboys-picks-travis-frederick-gavin-escobar-terrance-williams?ref=yahoo This article also claims Dunbar is likey to stay and Tanner to go. -
Writer calls them America's Worst University.. Sounds like a nut farm.... would not classify them as left or right or anything... just nuts. With all the crazy events in Florida happening in recent years.. they are catching up with Calf. in the race to be the nuttiest. They were even going to name their stadium after a prison group.... no wonder the students protested that one.

SMU must win now – or get left out in the cold

.. True.... now... but those in Bristol and even out of the state don't buy tickets... and the BE will soon see how empty and unsupported SMU in Texas really is locally... .. -
SMU must win now – or get left out in the cold
SCREAMING EAGLE-66 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
.. Winning isn't the answer for them but helps some . People in the Dallas area and even out here somewhat have little respect for the place... They are too arrogant, love to belittle others, and so many of their grads are unlikable... As a result people other than alums just won't support that kind of school or athletic program... For example you see people wearing UT and A&M clothing that have no real connection to that school and I think the same is somewhat true of TCU even... You don't see that of SMU. TCU is thought of by people in Ft. Worth as their university somewhat.... Does Dallas really think of SMU that way?..... no. .. and they don't care about it or attend. When they fill their stadium it is mostly from fans of the college they are playing. .... That was even an issue when the SWC broke up ... cheating (without feeling guilty) as SMU was was also a big issue. I know alums that blame others for their getting caught ... and have no problem with the fact they was cheating like crazy. I doubt the Methodist churches which founded the place would be proud of what it has become. They have two big problems... winning (that is better now) but also likability and their public image. .. -

. This may be the first time in the history of the world that I agree with you. Situation reminds me of an old saying ---" You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig". "She" is what "she" was... whether "she" likes it or not. (my opinion) -

---Those of us whoat UNT during the 60's and early 70's saw unbelievable basketball then... crazy, crazy, exciting games. MVC was the best basketball conf. in America then [ UCLA was usually the best team but not in a really great conf.] ---One will make the final obviously. -
