Seem's like the 1977 team is being forgotten. Finished 10-1, only losses were to #16 Miss St 17-16, who later forfeited, and to #20 Florida State 35-14. Wins over SMU, Memphis, Southern Miss, and Louisiana Tech. Was ranked #16 at end of season by UPI.

Derek Thompson named to UNT Hall of Fame 2020 Class

DT is 3rd leading passer all time at NT in passing yardage and in the top 5 all time in every other passing category. Led us to a bowl win and was MVP. Sounds like a no brainer to me. Congrats DT.- 27 replies

Those P5 schools didn’t give him a chance. NT did & Mason succeeded. Kyler was a 5 star recruit out of high school, Mason was a 2 star. FIU had a QB drafted for the 2nd year in a row. Exposure is not the problem.

Simon made the right call on taking the safety. We had a couple of chances at interceptions that would have sealed the win. Giving up that 4th & 10 and the interference penalty doomed us.
