  1. Other than being HC at Iowa State, Canales' resume looks a lot more impressive than McCarney's.
  2. FWIW. Just glancing at his 2004 Cyclone roster, he had 20 Texans on his squad. I'm like most of ya'll, not too excited.
  3. I went the the beautiful (tic) campus of UT-Dallas Tuesday night to watch UT-D play Austin College in basketball. As I sat watching the women's game, I thought that the PA announcer's voice seemed very familiar. At halftime I walked down and there he was, the great Bill Mercer, doing the PA for UT-D. That brought back great memories of NT games of yesteryear and World Class Championship Wrestling with the Von Erich's.
  4. Nice letter. Gill was recruited by DD, wonder how she feels about him?
  5. Pathetic. kNTu not carrying NT football is a crying shame.
  6. Why not hire the greatest GA of all time: the great G.A. Moore, winningest high school coach of all time. He's just up the road in Aubrey. http://photoblog.statesman.com/tag/coach-ga-moore
  7. Nathan has been dressed out since the ULaLa game. He has been signaling in plays and helping out the younger QB's.
  8. Dang, how many game balls were give out after the WKU game? Chico, RV, DeLoach, Bryant, and Gandy all got a game ball.
  9. Isn't Doug "Doogie" Anderson, the play by play man, a NT alum also?
  10. Did Scott Davis double for Bakula in the football scenes? Kathy Ireland? No doubt I would.
  11. Impressive list of pallbearers:Kenneth Lyons, Spud Webb, former NFL referee Red Cashion, and Jimmy Gales among others. Coach B will definitely be missed.
  12. "Lock the gate!", I like it. Did you notice that right after Coach Chico gave the ball to RV, you could see Riley standing in the background. Didn't look like he was too enthusiastic. I'm sure he has mixed emotions right now. Gotta feel for the kid.
  13. His teams were always entertaining. Coach Blakely will be missed. Once heard him say, "A pat on the back will do more than a kick in the butt." Interesting reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Blakeley,
  14. Wonder what other changes we'll see under Canales' watch?
  15. Fedora is a native Texan, an Austin College 'Roo, and coached at several high schools in Texas before joining the college ranks.

  17. yeah, Mean Joe played several years before Fry took over.
  18. Watching this week Insider is almost surreal seeing Hank interview TD. Obviously filmed Monday, TD talks about this weeks practice schedule, hitting the recruiting trail on Friday, and getting some of the injured players back. But in a way, TD looks more relaxed that he has in previous shows. Maybe he had a feeling what was coming Wednesday and knew that huge weight was going to be lifted off his shoulders. As stated on here before, TD is a class act and I wish him well in whatever comes his way in the future.
