  1. for example..... All photos taken from Tea Party rallies. Don't tell me hate and racism is not an element here.
  2. Lets get a head count on the number of black people in the crowd last night.
  3. Don't act like him being black has nothing to do with the Tea Party's movement. I am all for a group of individuals wanting to be heard for what they feel is right and needs to be corrected, but to use an ironic pun....let's call a spade a spade here.
  4. I think you are somewhat correct here, but they can't seem to get on the same page at the moment. This weekend's convention was proof of that. A gathering of roughly 600 so called Tea partiers got together to listen to a moron cheerlead. While the common folk who are at the heart of the grass roots movement are excluded. Most don't want a 'face' for the party, while others want to fall in line with traditional political practices. An interesting phenomenon going on there. Although I do truly believe that if Obama were a white dude then there would not be a Tea Party, or they would not have the same level of support. I can't help but view this group as one that has a problem with a black guy as a leader. The country was extremely screwed before he was in office. Now all of a sudden this group wants to 'take back our country'. I am not buying it. Some, not all, of these people are a bit racist in my opinion.
  5. Wow!! You have completely changed my mind about everything in this country. When is the next Tea bag get together?
  6. I think there are differences on the left just like the right. I am not a staunch liberal in every area. Don't really have the time or interest in breaking that down right now. But I do care about civil liberties. So I prefer the term progressive.
  7. Interesting take on the Tim Tebow, pro life commerical, CBS censorship boondoggle story that has popped up. I guess you can call me a bleeding heart progressive, but the guy makes some great points worth discussing.
  8. Maybe in some areas, but it shouldn't have taken this long to address the offensive shortcomings in his system at the D1 level. After two years he should have maybe looked at overhauling some areas that many of us have discussed at nauseum (more run packages, TE's, etc.). But I guess this is a better late than never situation. It's amazing how people are more open to compromise when their backs are against the wall. Love the hire for several reasons. Also a guy that could maybe take over if TD is not asked to return. I like replying to Rick a lot more in this part of the board.
  9. I don't mean to cause another politcal debate here, but was that really a response to the issues that Obama discussed, or a glorified GOP pep rally? Most State of the Union speeches give me tired head because of all the standing and clapping, but the Governor didn't really bring a counter point to much at all. I heard more criticism this morning on CNN from Rudy Giuliani. Thought last night was kinda weak and a bit of dog and pony show. Good idea that didn't really leave me with anything.
  10. How about this then. This upcoming season please point out what is negative about his delivery of reporting news when it happens. I know a lot of folks here like to 'kill the messanger' when it comes to Mr. Vito, but I just don't see what gets under the skin of so many. And yes, I read his work very frequently. Everytime I read his blog or an article from the DRC I have a hard time not agreeing with whatever 'tone' he is expressing in his work. Beat writers don't typically inject that much opinion in their work. Personally I think way too many, especially here, have a very biased view about what they read. Don't mean to ramble here, I just don't get all of the negativity thrown the way of a guy who does very good journalistic work.
  11. I think he is very good. Sometimes fans don't like to read about the truth.
  12. Anybody that would go to such lengths really needs to get a life.
  13. Mountain?....Nope just a mole hill. Sorry Rick.
  14. Actaully Bo Levi went 3-3 and managed to beat a good ECU team. Then he seperated his non-throwing shoulder during a loss at Houston. Then Kyle replaced him and went 5-1 the rest of the way with the only loss on the road at Marshall. And to be 'that guy' even more....the ponies beat SFA in their opener, not Texas State. I saw this guy up close all season long. He is a good kid and probably would serve as a fine backup if he stayed at SMU. Infact, I would probably want him to start over Riley at NT if you wanted my honest opinion. But yeah, he is going FCS so the best of luck to him.
  15. Great response.
  16. Yeah, we should join forces in 2012. Think it....the Rick / Bass ticket. Our platform would be wide reaching, with our #1 agenda being fixing college football.
  17. I admire your ethics
  18. Name me a squeaky clean program and I will show you a school that isn't trying hard enough. I am not saying I want us to be a USC or an SMU in the 80's, but if our alums had money and some less than honorable things happened behind the scenes to make our program better, I think you would gladly take that too. I'm pretty sure everyone here would.
  19. I don't know about you, but I will gladly take an amount of 'big time' corruption to get NT on track and become a legit power.
  20. Rick and I have a past of jabs back and forth. If it were anyone else I probably would have let it go.
  21. Dude, we all get lots of negative email. That is something we all deal with on a daily basis and that is fine, everyone is entitled to and has their own opinion. I am my own worst critic. No matter what you or anyone else says or writes is going to make a goddamn bit of difference to me. I just think you are a board troll with a helmet that makes this a less than enjoyable forum to visit and participate in. And when the jerk that you are throws rocks at my place of employment you are f'ing sure I will hurl one back your way. Have a great off-season. I am sure you will be busy beating us down to no end.
  22. I could say the same about those who play dress up to draw attention to themselves at sporting events.
  23. First of all wow you have a lot of hate in your heart. Second, Elf is a UT grad. Third, relax.
