Dickey Hired As Special Consultant To Uga
Green Guy Bass replied to pollock's topic in Mean Green Football
Just let it go people. -
Actually, I do quite often and in person. If there is anyone that wants things to get better it's Brett. Just because the guy has to lay out FACTS in a not always positive light, it doesn't mean that he has a vendetta against the program. We have talked before about things not being so great on many fronts, and we had nothing but honest dialouge....Now would that be printed?? No way, but venting amongst friends doesn't necessarily mean that he is wishing failure on the things that helps him pay his bills. I get sick of people/fans getting up in arms at media members that aren't on their knees over the teams they cover no matter the circumstances.

Rice 45 NT 29 They are a better football team.

You are the one with the vendetta sir.

You don't know what you are talking about. Vito is a journalist. Just because you don't like what he is reporting, doesn't mean that he has some vendetta against the University. You really think he wants NT to fail?? Wake up dude. Brett is not fabricating anything in his story and is not going out of his way to cast NT in a negative light. Chill out.

Does Mean Joe Ever Come To Games?

Ricky 'V' explains his theory of how money will appear for a stadium. Joe is skeptical. -
I am not disagreeing this won't take time. I just want to see more than 3 points. You are right about the O-line being somewhat better. However, I have seen all 3 games and the seconday still looks terrible. Granted there might be a few freshmen that have some skill, but it is going to take a lot more DeLoach to make them solid. They were absolutely lost at times against Tulsa and they faced a young QB against LSU. Not sold on much improvement from our DB's. They might be a good unit in a season or two. I also don't think our backs are what Jomario was at times, even last season. I like some of TD's guys dont get me wrong, but I expect more from the offense. 3 points is inexcusable against anyone. And I still truly feel that Rice will beat us. We have no answer for their QB or one of the best WR's in the country in Jerrett Dillard.

Hate to disagree with you, but last year TD was overhauling DD's team. This year we are seeing next to no progress with quite a few Dodge players. The only positive that I see is that Gio is not throwing picks. Every other aspect of the game looks very similar to last season. Pretentious?? I just want to see things getting better, and maybe win an out of conference game. But another year will go by and we will be winless in our OOC games. I like you am looking for positives right now, but I guess I am not seeing many as the rest of you. In my mind, due to what I have seen so far from both teams - Rice is a better football team than North Texas at this point and I am bracing for another dissapointing Saturday. Also, I never even mentioned anything about being a national power in the BCS picture, so don't put words in my mouth and refer to me as a 'd-bag'. And maybe, like some here, I'm beginning to become disenchanted with the next few years of this program. I hope this is just the young kids taking their lumps, but it's really hard to see widespread improvement right now. Hopefully we will all be surprised next week in Houston.

Seemed to me we were completely out-played. I don't like the moral victory of covering the spread. We didn't even find the End Zone once. Can this team hang in the Belt??....Sure, but is that good enough? Seriously? Are we somewhat satisfied with this?

Riley Dodge's 1st pass in college was a pick. Granted, it wasn't all his fault, but that still sucks. (Still wondering why he is playing this season)

Tonight's Game Is A Tremendous Success If...
Green Guy Bass replied to Fitzyrection's topic in Mean Green Football
The two combining for 100 could happen, but to exect anything jamrio like is a little out there. All we can do is hope. No matter how it happens, I just hope it isn't a complete embarrassment. We have had our fill of that in recent years. -

I am right there with you....however it's sad that we have been reduced to these weak-ass expectations. -

That is a lot to ask of our football team. -
This is going to be a disaster. It is not unrealistic to think that North Texas will give up anywhere from 50 to 70 points and not even score twice. This team won the national championship for good reason last season. They have some of - if not THE best athletes in the SEC. This game is going to be on par with last year's OU game or the opener against Texas back in 2004. I hope that we can see some positive things, and continue to watch Gio grow into the fantastic QB that he is, but I like our neighbors to the South, I am evacuating any thoughts that this will be a game, and going towards safety. What is 'safety'?? Safety is not allowing myself to even imagine the impossible. After saying all that....I hope that our offense executes well, our defense suddenly figures it all out, and our special teams decide to cover a kick. I would love to see us give a great effort and lose with some dignity. However, I feel that losing to 3 quality teams will get these guys ready for Rice, and then a step-down in talent when we hit Belt play. Dominating the Belt used to be fun, and it can be again THIS YEAR. Let's just pray for some progress and those that are fearing the wrath of Ike.

The Mean Grrreeeeennnnn....is On The Way...
Green Guy Bass replied to Green Grenade II's topic in Mean Green Football
Reading that is like smiling at that cute kid who comes screaming into the room and letting everyone know about his imaginary friend. However I love the optimism, we could use a little of that after the arse-kickings we have had to endure over the past two weeks. Kick ass in Baton Rouge! -
This thread is pretty damn depressing if you really think about it.
