Ed Werder = Asshat
Green Guy Bass replied to Baby Arm!'s topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
PM me if you want a great example from tonight's postgame as to why you shouldn't be so quick to rip Ed and those like him. I know for a fact that the players are saying everything is fine and hunky-dory so they can move on and focus on Baltimore. T.O. has had a beef with Ed Werder and everyone at ESPN for the better part of this season, not just Ed. Again, if you want answers just ask. -
Ed Werder = Asshat

Werder and Bayless are completely different. Werder reports what actually happens and what is said at Valley ranch. Bayless injects his opinion as a columnist and a talking head on the tube. If a reporter didn't report what exactly happened or what was said, the common fan would have a bigger issue with that. IMO Cowboy fans need to take a step back and realize what they are upset about right now. A player who has no respect for anyone or anything around him. Werder is doing the exact same thing that Suzy Kilber, Sal Palantonio, Jeremy Schapp, Colleen Dominguez, Rachel Nicholls, or any other ESPN TV beat reporter would do. Some people need to take off the foam finger and drop the pennant and take a realistic look at what they are mad about. Cowboy fans should be upset with the players causing issues in the lockeroom and maybe Jerry for composing this mess. Don't kill the messenger. -

I like how people like yourself think that reporters go out of their way to fabricate news. People that do that lose their jobs. I think Ed Werder makes too much money and has too big of a reputation in the industry to do something so foolish. If you ask me fans with a sense of entitlement are way more annoying than a guy doing his job. I guess this is a futile argument because the majority of the people on this board think that Brett Vito has an agenda. Ridiculous. -

Ed Werder is doing his job. He has no agenda. This guy yelling is the ass-hat. It's easy to raise a fuss over some crap you don't agree with, but I would think that a guy that is at Valley Ranch everyday and at every game and talks directly to players, coaches, staff, fellow writers and media members probably has a much clearer idea of what the hell is going on. Just because T.O. is an ass to just about everyone surrounds him doesn't mean that Werder is doing a bad job as a journalist. -

The NIT tends to take teams from bigger conferences, more established programs, or schools that travel well. We are none of these and that is why we stayed home. At least we are building a good reputation as a 20+ win team.

Went to the game last night. Felt good to be back at the Pit. Give me that over a football game at Fouts any day. It was a little frustrating to see us not blow the doors off NMSU. Just using the eyeball test, we looked like a better team and maybe a little deeper overall. But hey, I'll take a win everytime over the Aggies. Things that stood out to me. We play good defense when we need to.....stopped mini-runs all night to stay in front. Playing smothering defense over the final 27.1 was promising. McCoy....how did he not get more minutes?? Kid has no fear to shoot it from deep and seems to play smart at both ends. No turnovers last night. Johnson....I like him a lot, he can stroke it and takes care of the basketball....good ball-handlers can help you win tight games like last night. Tristan Thompson.....keep doing exactly what you have been doing over the past few weeks. If we get that on a consistent basis, we could be the best team in the SBC west. Josh White might have played his worst game in a NT uniform....and we still won. Good he got that out of his system, now he can go back to being great. Crowd?? A little light for my liking, but it is nearing the holidays and it is North Texas....although it was good to meet Tasty and Ms. Tasty, good people. Look forward to actually taking in a game with them the entire time. Next time, not bringing the girl. An act of congress to get her to agree to come along. Can't wait to head back for the UTA game.

Can't wait to go see this one. If there was only one home game I could attend this would be the one. Great old rival, glad the powers that be are scheduling this. I wish the football teams would continue to play one another.

^^^^^^^^^ Great story of personal success indeed. And I am glad to see that you are reading informed things to argue your point. I just wonder why people like him effectively killed off any threat of a mass production of electric cars in the late 90's and early 00's. If the Government, oil companies, auto companies, and lobbiest didn't ban together to continue the money grab - there might be a chance that 3 auto manufacturers would not be asking for a government hand out. GM produced electric cars that worked, were efficient, and people loved them who owned them. However, the powers that be got freaked out. Legally stole back their cars from the drivers. Then promptly destroyed them so we can continue craving oil. And let's be honest, the car companies would be a lot better off economically if hey had not done that. -
Rick, One day I want you to describe in detail what kind of country you want to live in. In reading your posts on various social and political topics, I can't help but view Rick's America as one that would never have a black president, gays would never have rights, the Christian church would have much more power than it would now, and environmental issues would take a back-seat to any issue that would keep a conservative in power. This is just what I have gathered in reading your responses. I would love to know what progressive or even left tilting opinions you might have. Just curious.

After watching the game, I do think that OSU's team is better this season. It was good to see our kids didn't ever fade away and raise the white flag. I think this year should be another 20+ win season and we should be a real threat to win the Belt. The 3's will fall, the FT's should be better, and we will mostly be facing teams that are not as athletic or strong as Okie St. Some of the newcomers are intriguing like Tramiel, Johnson, and Odufuwa. Dennis and White should be great again. My only real concern is in the post. Howerton is way too erratic overall and sloppy underneath on the offensive end. Not having a good big man is going to cost us a few wins along the way, but what I saw tonight was intriguing. Wish I could have said that once this year about our football team.

I have read this too in a number of places. I find it odd how so many can't accept that this might be a genetic/hormonal thing. Why is is so hard for the majority of christians to accept this? It is a very reasonable and logical answer, but I guess that indoctrinized faith and fear gets in the way. Sad really. We have homosexuals across our great land having their rights suppressed, yet so many of the majority sleep well at night when they willingly stand in the way of the rights of their fellow Americans. Another case of religion standing in the way of progress, tolerance, and reason. We as humans have a long way to go.
