  1. I hate to sports-bully here....but this is a very ridiculous thread that you have started. Anyone that follows the NFL, college football, or has a decent handle on sports knows full-well that a young NFL coach with a superbowl ring in his safe-deposit box does not take a job at a Sun-Belt school. You are taklking about a guy that can land another head coaching job in the NFL without really having to interview. I do agree that he has some Jimmy in him, but taking the job at North Texas is like taking 5 steps down in his professional career. And I know that money is still factor with he and coaches like him, so don't go acting like he is ready to take a dramatic pay-cut. And even if he did agree to pay for peanuts, our school still probably couldn't afford him. I don't mean to come across as a jerk, but to even mention that Gruden would even consider coming here is just absurd.
  2. Are you doing a bit or do really want people to take your point seriously?
  3. Tell me you are kidding here.
  4. The fact he is not willing to adjust his offensive system makes him stubborn. Do we have a TE in the offense??? No. That will get Riley beat up. Do we have highly skilled WR's?? Not really. Fitz has graduated and the rest didn't impress me all that much by using the old eye-ball test. Do we have decent RB's??? Yes. Which means our stubborn coach should probably install some run packages under the center, especially in short-yardage situations. Coaches that don't make adjustments are stubborn. You see it at every level and more often than not their teams get beat and they eventually lose their jobs. I do hope vey much that he sees the errors he has made on the offensive side of the ball over the past two seasons that has caused him to win 3 games out of 24.
  5. 3-21. He still has a lot of work to do to regain my trust. This off-season has not given me an indication that things will get any better.
  6. So far Dodge is reminding me of Benji Gil.
  7. Don't disrespect Nolan like that.
  8. This sums it up very nicely. Good post.
  9. So what then happens when we go 2-10 because we are running the same high school offense with Riley?? Will more players get tired of getting their taints kicked in every week?? Will they decide to bail? I don't blame Gio one damned bit. It does kill me as an alum and a fan that we might have to endure the rest of 'The Dodge Dynasty' at NT and not move one step forward as a program. I really hope Riley is all he is cracked up to be at a QB, but I am not that optimistic. In all honesty, I just wish that RV would sack up along with the powers that be at NT, and show Todd the door and simply move on the best way possible. Todd has done nothing but try to transform this team's identity from what it was for a very long time, and turn it into something it should not be. RV is also to blame for this, even though I think he has done a fantastic job in just about every other area since he arrived. Sure, some of you true believers in TD can simply say, "he has only been here two years....these things take time.....he needs a number of recruiting classes, and his players.....and all that other bull that you might throw out there in response. Truth is -- Todd is overrated, Riley seems a bit overrated, and things are not getting better anytime soon. Gio might not have come here if DD was still the coach, but I guaren-damn-tee you that he would have freaking thrived under DD, because he is a hard-nosed, firey, and uber-talented QB with a crap-ton of poise. A much more polished passer that anyone DD had here.....too bad that Todd has killed what used to be a certain attitude, swagger, and toughness that used to be a true element in the offense and in this program. I hope to hell that I am wrong and 9-10 months from now I am eating these words.....but honestly, we are in a world of screwed heading into 2009. In closing....Good luck Gio. You gave us all you had, it was pretty good, and you deserved so much better that Todd Dodge. Pissed off at 3am -Sean
  10. I wouldn't call the great Eric Nadell a tailspin dude. He is one of the best in all of baseball.
  11. Why couldn't they have done this when I was an incoming freshman back in 2000??
  12. Completely agree. TCU is a can-do institute, just like Ft. Worth is a can-do city.
  13. Why are half the people here sold that Riley is going to be a decent college QB?
  14. Things will marginally better if the offense has some different sets. Hopefully a few with the QB under center and some short yardage run packages. However, I don't have much faith in TD swallowing some of that ego and making the necessary changes to help the offense look like one that plays at the D-1 level. The defense??....Just pray real hard that it improves. SP Teams??....they have to be better....right??
  15. Anyone who knows Patrick knows that he feels pretty horrible right now. You could see it when they put the camera on him after the fumble. It sucks that had to happen to such a great guy. Hope he can make a big play to redeem himself.
  16. It also features the very hot Marisa Tomei. Looks like this might be pretty good. Also at the Angelika right now - Doubt and Milk. Go see both over the holiday season.
  17. agreed. great film. everyone should watch it.
  18. Cook--Tries too hard, but hs some natural talent. Johannsen--alright Rock--Very funny Gaffigan--acquired taste, but I think he is funny. Regan--pretty funny Martin--pretty genius(if you haven't seen the new Pink Panther, do so) It would also be wrong to not pay tribute to the late great George Carlin. Joe rest his soul.
  19. That would be much better.
  20. I love the idea, but would a NT crowd of real significance show up?? That place being 1/2 full with the majority wearing maroon would be a bummer.
  21. *Gives knowing nod*
  22. This story is how it exactly played out.
