  1. I know it is a great problem to have....for once.
  2. Alright 'Wonderboy' is starting tonight. A very interesting start for the 22 year old. With Padilla on his way back from the DL, he could make a case to stay in the rotation. But who do you send to the bullpen if not Holland. Is Holland a better fit right now in the bullpen with the rotation going so well?? Or do you want to not hinder his development as a starter? As of now you can't send Milly, Padilla, and Feldman to the pen....BMc just tossed his 1st CG and Harrison has lost 2 straight. Not sure if I like Harrison in the pen, he has been a starter for almost a full season at the MLB level. Can you trust that he will be nearly as effective as young Derek?? Don't think so. Should be an interesting next 2 weeks.
  3. Due to the inclement weather we are looking at a 9:30 1st pitch. Late night.
  4. A very interesting matchup tonight with Millwood going up against the very overrated Joba Chamberlain. Also, the temps are around 90, so it should be interesting to see which larger bodied righthander holds up the longest. Not quite August yet, but it will be interesting to see if the rotation can keep going deep into games as it gets hotter. The Chris Davis situation is becoming even more glaring of late....1 of his last 29 I think, but his gold glove caliber defense is keeping him in the lineup, but I wonder if we will see more Blalock or even Jones at 1st in the coming days/weeks. Stay tuned. Also Diamondtalk returns tonight on the little Ticket, if you are up and horny for baseball talk please tune in.
  5. I like how everyone that is pro gun assumes that if an individual had a gun on them they would intervene and play the hero. I have a hard time assuming that would happen the majority of the time. And dude....the 2nd Amendment is going nowhere, people will have guns in public. I can accept that. I cannot accept that it is okay for young adults to carry a weapon in a place that is supposed to be a safe environment that is geared toward learning. The pro gun individual seems so worried about their right to have the gun, they ignore logic and reason. And yes you are a staunch conservative and set in your ways, but you have a brain, so there is still hope.
  6. As much as I completely agree with everything you have said here, driving is still a necessity in this day and age. One can get by without owning and carrying a gun. Should 16 year olds be able to get a DL as easily as they do? No. It's easier to defend the use of apples when you compare the ill effects of oranges.
  7. A- Graduated in '05, but while I attend our great school I was on campus about 65-75% of the time. B- Va Tech happened and it will probably happen again. (making it easier for kids like that to get weapons is just moronic) C- I don't want my kids in a place where it's okay to have a gun. School is school, there is NO place for weapons. End of discussion. Are you so gun-crazy that you truly want guns on a college campus?? And to your claim about me being okay that people can carry weapons that can kill someone off campus....I am not crazy that so many people are allowed to freely have a gun, just because they passed a test and a safety course. Call me a liberal, but I do think it should be a helluva lot tougher to obtain a weapon.
  8. Sorry I don't consider your typical 21 or 22 year old as a responsible adult. I have attended class more recently than some here, and I sure as hell didn't want some of my class mates carrying a gun, legal or not.
  9. First, I am not saying your typical person with CHL will open fire on a college campus. I never once said that so lets not make things up to try and make me sound like the asshole here. Second, your druken frat boy doesn't always pay for things himself. If you and the rest of the pro-gun people here are fine with even the chance of an immature idiot having the option to carry a gun around other immature idiots - then by all means have your law and your guns. Hopefully Charleton Heston looks down on you and smiles. The rest of us are not going to sit around and be happy that kids might be packing when they attend class. Too scary of a reality to consider to be quite honest with you.
  10. During Derek Holland's 1st start as a major leaguer my pants indeed moved. So excited about what 'Wonderboy' might do for the Rangers. He still needs to build up the stamina it takes to start every 5th day, but so far I have been blown away with his stuff.
  11. I think this is simply a comment on Ann Coulter being an insufferable bitch. It's easy to disagree with someone politically, but she goes out of her way to be rude to the people that interview her. By doing this she perpetuates her own reputation by playing to her audience, which in turn keeps her relevant and she sells books, has speaking apperances, gets public notice from a variety pf media outlets, etc.. Personally I can't stand the woman, but i have to give her credit for praying off the insecurities of some conservatives and capitalizing from it.
  12. I am struggling to see how this is a good idea. One can say that this will prevent acts like Columbine and VaTech, but lets be real here. Anyone that wants a gun can get a gun and use it on an open campus....so now we are making it legal for some nut-job to have a weapon that can kill a fellow student or a faculty member. I don't care how responsible 99.99% of liscensed individuals are. It only takes one nut-bag to go off the deep end and create a major tragedy. Also, lets not underestimate the sheer idiocy and questionable judgement of kids from 18-24. If one person is killed because of this stupid law, then this is one of the worst laws in the history of our great state.
  13. The good news....they don't have to go back to Detroit the rest of the regular season.
  14. from the DMN Ranger Blog - Richard Durrett Saw this a few games back.... As on offensive team, the Rangers hit .263 with 36 HR, 150 RBI, 243 K, 129 BB through the first 34 games of 2008. The stats for 2009: .279 batting average, 58 HR, 186 RBI, 284 K, 97 BB....however this has been a much worse offensive team on the road in recent years. If you have time check out Ian Kinsler's home/road splits - yikes.
  15. Agreed, The ALC is there for the taking. You can make a case for the majority of that division. Good to see BMc go 7 for the 2nd straight game and 2nd time as a Ranger. Verlander tonight will be another challenge.
  16. 7 straight, 9 over, 4 and a half up, back to back sweeps, pitching, defense, timely hitting, and even manufacturing runs without homers....hell yes.
  17. I would like to know KRAM's average for being a complete doucher....I bet it's higher that Rangers current ERA....another walkoff win, 6 games over, still in 1st place....soccer can suck it....
  18. I know you like to close yourself off to certain things, just helping you out man. Wouldn't want you to have to appreciate the great game this late in life.
  19. So what problems do you have with this? Interested to hear it.
