I agree that young Derek oozes confidence, and I don't mind the adverse conditions at times when he comes out of the pen. However, I would rather him getting into a normal rythm between starts. Harrison is still on the DL and I like having a lefty starter available. Also I worry Wash is pushing him a little too much. I know that is the new mindset of Nolan and Maddux, but after he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings against NY at the ballpark last week, I thought Wash should have let Derek sit down and build off that start. Texas was down 3-0 at the time and Burnett was dealing. Instead he got roughed up for 3 more runs - 2 earned. I know that is a little nit-picky, but a better manager might have told him to have a seat. I would kill to take in Sundays game with you.

Well, he seems pretty articulate during interviews, and the teleprompter thing might be the most nit-picky thing ever. Every president has used one. At least he can read his.

Always up for some baseball discussion. I watched the 4th inning meltdown again this morning, and it still sucked. I knew Padilla wouldn't be that sharp after two weeks off. I am starting to question Washington putting Holland in these tough relief appearances. I don't think this is helping his development, especially when he is or was slated to start in Boston later this week. I wish the club would make up their mind about him for the '09 season and stick with it. Going from the bullpen to the rotation and back could be screwing with his head a bit. A pitcher has a certain make-up at that level. They are eaither a starter, a reliever, a long reliever, a set up man, or a closer. They have used Holland in almost all of those spots this season 0 not too sure that is the right thing. I know winning is on the agenda, but as a manager you have to look further down the road. Oh well, hopefully they can actually generate some runs tonight. Burnett was dealing again last night so there wasn't too much hope. Petite is going for NY tonight, and he is coming back from a back issue I believe, so hopefully thing will be a little different. Also we need to give a big thanks to Roy Halladay and the Bluejays for beating the halos last night and keeping our lead at 4.5.

Sorry. Golf took priority this morning and afternoon. By the way, the Twin Creeks course in Allen. Excellent place to play. I would be happy with a game over or under .500 over their next 13, especially with a 4 and a half game lead, and I think the Angels have a few tough series too. The toughest games against NY and Boston are coming up and all on the road. Padilla is back tonight from the DL against the most potent lineup in baseball. I am not sure what to expect from him or our offense in that hitter friendly new Yankee stadium. The bats have been not that great away from the ballpark, but the pitching has been very solid. I am not sure the rotation can keep the ERA under 4 over the next 6. But hey, they have been overachieving all season. Josh Hamilton was DL'd today with a sports hernia which sucks, but I do like what Byrd has been doing of late with the bat. Hopefully with josh out and Davis on the bench, or maybe on the way to the minors guys like Byrd, Murphy, and Jones will get more regular at bats. Honestly the offense doesn't need another power hitter, they need more guys that will make contact, draw walks, and make the opposing starter work more. This team is way too aggressive, that is the downside of Rudy Jaramillo. At 10 games over .500 to begin June, if they play 5 games over .500 the rest of the way they will be in the thick of a playoff race, and that would be awesome whatever happens. Hope that is adequate. And now to the shower and then the tube for a big night of Rangers Baseball.

My girlfriend is a theatre teacher in middle school. Some of those kids are gay. I don't think it is a 'bad choice' - it's who they are. They can't help it. If you want to wish something away. Go ahead. But it is not at all a choice. However, as a Cardinals fan I am on board with you about Cubs fans.

In what way would our glorious society bust at the seams if gays were allowed to be married? Please check your religious beliefs at the door to answer this question if you can. Being gay is a genetic thing, not a choice. Why would so many gay people put themselves through the crap they have to deal with if it were a choice? My grandmother lives in one of the more well-to-do neighborrhoods in the metroplex and the gays make up half the population. And to be honest I would rather have them as neighbors than many straight people who can squirt out kids and continue to be a drain on our system. Just sayin'. Dick Cheney is right here. The states should decide on what they want to do. However, I think it is kind of shitty that he is speaking up about it now, well after he is out of office and the elections are long over. But for some people to openly want certain people's rights in this country to be suppressed just makes me wonder about what idea they are living under. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should apply to everyone - gay or straight. Gay people pay the same taxes that you and I do, so why are those that do not acdcept their lifestyle want so desperately for there to be legislation that holds these people down? The founding fathers that helped compsose that great line I mentioned above, and oh by the way they didn't care too much for religion if you actually do some research on the issue. Yet they came up with a great framework for our country to function and adapt to the way we evolve as a society (Oh my god I said evolve) even though they had their own negative practices in a different time. I do hope that one day when my children are grown, they can see a gay couple that is married and not second guess what is going on. Hopefully my kids will be accepting of people with some slight differences, and not cast a judgmental eye on them. I have a hard time thinking that everyome here can do that.

It should also be said that Bill O'Reilly had him as the focus of a number of his shows. I am not saying O'Reilly was wong or right for doing this, but I can't help but think by him doing this made the doctor and even bigger target. If you want more click here

Brandon McCarthy is leading the AL's best team in wins....didn't think I would be saying that at ony point this season. Good times. Millwood goes up against Dallas Braden today, Braden shut Texas down at their place earlier this season. A 4 game sweep would be nice before a bear of a roadtrip to NY and Fenway.

Let us not forget that Hank Blalock was a very above average defensive 3rdbaseman, the transition is not that great. If anything it's a less taxing position physically. Also Hank has a higher OBP and won't strike out as much.

Look dude I know all of that, if you actually ready one of my previous posts I said that there were a number of factors that helped lead to the recession. Not just the war. If anyone opens a newspaper or turns on the TV they know that the credit market looks like a waste-land. You really think I am so dumb that I believe that the war is the sole cause of our econimic tailspin?? But one can't ignore the fact that hemmoraging money on a relatively fruitless war was a bad idea for the economy. The credit crisis, the housing market, and a number of other things are probably bigger more natural factors. I agree our government has effed up royally here over the past 25 years. Deregulating the banks was also a massive f up, but some people got rich, and I guess that is all that really mattered to those in power. A buch of old rich white guys had a money grab over the better part of 20 years and we are all paying for it now.

So we would be in the exact same economic situation if we never went to war with Iraq? C'mon dude. We are all smarter than that.

Obviously there are a lot of factors that helped contribute to the current mess that have been building over the past 20-30 years. There are certain things in our economy that were bound to bottom out at some point. I know you want to pounce on Obama for a spending bill that is trying to help generate some momentum, but you can't defend wasting a ton of money on a questionable war. And the question was aked what did Bush do to help us fall into a recession. I had a pretty obvious answer. Also I wouldn't call on the help of economics experts, they appear on Meet the Press, CNN, Fox News, the BBC news and the like - and they have no clear cut answers to help us get out of this mess. Obama doesn't, McCain wouldn't, Winston Churchill would probably be speechless, and if Jesus is too smart to coemback right now, because he would catch some hell for this too.

By starting a war and bleeding our taxpayers out of over 800 Billion dollars and counting. Sucks doesn't it?

people hate Ann Coulter because she is a raving bitch. She goes out of her way to be rude to the people that she interviews, as she says shocking things to draw attention to herself. Is Arianna Huffington uber liberal and biased? Of course, but at least she is not a c-word when she speaks to people. That is why there is an overwhelming negative reaction to Coulter - she is just a bitch.
