It seems that very few football teams at all levels wear white at home, Dallas Cowboys being one of the rare few.

Advance Alert Thsca All Star Fb Game Will Be Next
GreenN'walinsVet replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Of any of the all star games this is the one that college coaches dont mind their players playiing in, because its sponsered by the Texas High School Coaches. So if you were to entice your players not to participate in this game it would look like a slap to the face of all the high school coaches. -
Fw*telegram On New Stadium Status Link
GreenN'walinsVet replied to OldTimer's topic in Mean Green Football
Everyone that says a 30,000 seat stadium is useless is dead wrong. A 30,000 seat stadium will provide us the opportunity to host some big name programs. Look at SMU, they hosted OSU a couple years back, and open with Tech this year in Dallas. THe reason these programs arnt coming to denton isnt becuase fouts holds 30,000 people, its becuase Fouts is a Sh*t hole. -
I can gurantee they wont stack the box, even if we run more then we all think. Its just not possible, think about it. If you go four wide, and the defense just goes man to man at the line of scrimmage, that only leaves 7 left for the box. If they use a safty as well, that only leaves 6 witch is most likely. Then you have 5 to block 6, so concievably that leaves Jamario with only one man left to beat to be into the open secondary. I dont about you but I like my chances.

I think this just proves that RV really knows what he's doing and can go out and get donations to get things done.

the best thing about the past recruiting class and the next one shaping up, is that is it just chalked full of athletes. With those athletes you can do crazy things even if your out talented you can make it up with athletisism.

N T Daily - Riley Dodge To Play At U N T
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Okay im confused. I think Tune could turn out to be a decent College QB (When i saw him play in the Allstar game last summer he showed me some things) but lets get real. This kid walked on as possible QB or saftey. He was able to earn a scholorship at the QB postion because the other three were horrible last summer. Now Dodge 2007 is talking like it would be the worst tragedy this program has seen if he were to transfer. Am i missing something or has this kid thrown a college pass yet? -
Big East Looking To Add 9th For Football

I could see a team like Memphis possibly doing that so that their football team could get into a BCS conference. -
Jacksonville State Studie Move To (f B S) 1 A
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Obviously Louisiana Tech is the big X factor in the whole scenerio, but if it would make team number 12 and have the chance to be in a regional conference with a money making championship game might entice them to leave the WAC. -
Jacksonville State Studie Move To (f B S) 1 A
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Sounds to me like the Sunbelt is looking to a twelve team divisonal fromat for the future and the only way to accomplish that at this stage is to take in the up and comers. Think of this: East Division: NT Texas State Arkansas State Louisiana Laffayette Louisiana Monroe Louisiana Tech West Division: Troy Western Kentucky Middle Tennesse State Florida International Florida Atlantic Jacksonville State While this wouldnt exactly be the most powerful conference in the nation would provide stability for not only the conference but the institutions as well. If you took this format and followed the Big XII plan, then you would have 5 games everyear against regionally located schools, and 3 games against the other division witch means only 3 long roadtrips every two years. -
I hate to say to the frog fans, but if you UNT would get its act together (like it looks like its starting to do) i believe the BIG 12 would take NT over TCU on the sole reason that we are a state funded university and have the extra funds to compete in the BIG 12. I really dont see them dumping the onlly private school for another

Oklahoma Forfeits All Wins From 2005
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Smitty's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes forfeiting the 2005 season is a fluff penelty becasue it really means nothing but did you notice that they are losing two scholorships this year and two next year? I know that doesnt seem like alot and it really isnt, but it means that that is four less stud players that they will have on the roster for the next 5 to 6 years. Not to mention that they are on probabation until 2011, so if they get caught again it will be worse. Considering it was only two players that were caught and there was no real evidence to suggest that OU knew of the deal (right or not, but that is what was found) i think losing four scholorships over a two year period is fairly severe. Also remember that they lost one of the top rated QB's in the nation in Bomar over this for the next two years as well. -
Unt Asks Football Fans To Pay A Premium
GreenN'walinsVet replied to GreenBat's topic in Mean Green Football
Great post Emmitt. To quote the Beerman "A plane wont fly without any fuel" If we really want this thing to take off then we as the fan base need to step up and provide that fuel -
These uniforms are clean!!! Very simple and easy to look at. Just a very good classic look that i wish more teams would try to imulate.

Denton Is 9th Fastest In Nation In Growth
GreenN'walinsVet replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
I believe we have already made the first and greatest move we could of done in hiring dodge. He is a man that makes the community stand up and be proud of their local university instead of putting them down every chance they could. This attitude change will help alot -
How Much Of An Advantage Will Have Vs. Smu ?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
if i can get tickets then i will be there -
To be honest with you I dont mind sitting in true end zone seats. I think it gives you a unique prospective of the game and at time would prefer to be in an end zone versus the sideline. Now that being said End Zone seats that are in Cooke county when the game is being in played in Denton is not a good seat and would not be a choice to sit in.

Good Bar In Denton For Beer And Football?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreengdub's topic in Mean Green Football
I do believe your missing the missing the bit that is "The BEERMAN". If you are going to see him for his musical prowess then you will be dissapointed. His shtick is that he is there to drink beer and then play music and not the other way around. The Beerman is pure greatness if you take it from the perspective of going out to have a good time, drink lots of beer, and listen to decent texas music that is more for getting the party going instead of being the main event. -
