TommyP Liked the summary but have to disagree with one point. Dodge does not have the same attitude about Defense that Leach does. Back when Dodge was in High School it was asked of him how he decided what players played where and He said that he sat down with OC and DC and then gave the OC the first choice of any player and then gave the DC the next ELEVEN Picks. Dodge understands that Defense is how you win games, he puts up a lot of points becuase that is how the offense is designed but I get the feeling that he would be just as happy with a 14 - 10 win as long as its a WIN. IMHO

I truely see this game as a closely contested game. I'm hoping it will be a well played game but could be just a sloppy game as well Now I know people are going to say I'm on the fence with this but I see the score being: 31-24 either way. [sorry, I believe in the Mean Green...I do. But I am also realistic...we got out coached, and looked quite pathetic in several areas. Can we improve enough to beat SMU, be competitive in the SB? Last I checked, those other conference brethren did quite well this past weekend. Gee really! You mean a coach that is making 3.5 million a year, has won a national championship, and has a top 10 recruiting class every year out coached ours who just came up from the High School ranks, took over a team that won only 5 games in 2 years, has a bottom 50 recruiting class every year, and makes only a quarter of a million dollars. You know it seemed to me that when Meager took a three step drop and the fired, he was accurate and moving the team, where he got into trouble was if the first or second read wasnt there and he had to move a little bit, he was doomed. On TV there was no doubt that Vizza was the better QB talent wise. When he threw a ball it looked like it came out of the book on how to throw a ball, good zip and perfect spiral. Just for clarification, His first INT was casued becasue a D-lineman it his throwing arm in motion causing the ball to flutter out short and into the defenders arms. The second INT was jsut a bad read. They showed a view form behind the QB and you could clearly see the LB baiting the throw to the slant and once it was made the LB just stepped over and made the pic. Clearly a freshman mistake that will be cured by experience IMO

Although I completly agree that the Big XII wouldn't split the pie any more ways, I think that if NT was to ever identify with the DFW metorplex and become their team as Dodge says he expects, and if Baylor coninues its subpar performances in all areas, the Big XII could at least entertain the thought of subbing NT for Baylor. As far another media market, the last time I checked the DFW market was a top 5 market in the country, and as of now, there is no true connection to the Big XII except that it is in the center of the South Division.

If I'm not mistaken just about every coaches puts their team up in a hotel the night before a game (home or away) for those reason I would not be at all suprised to find out that the NT team will be in an area hotel friday night, then they will get to the AC for breakfeast, some last minute film study and game planning, eat a good lunch, get on the bus at 1, get to norman around 3:30 - 4:00 and start with their pre-game routine.

If my thinking is correct the zone is a straight hand-off that is blocked by the offensive line in what is known as zone blocking - meanging if it is ZONE RIGHT then all the offensive linemen fire off and start heading right and pick up the first man they come into contact with The zone read is when the quaterback takes the snap and reads an unblocked man in the zone sceme, like the backside end or maybe a DT and then either hands the ball off to the RB or keeps it himself and runs or passes with it
