  1. Dont forget that TROY has a new stadium as well
  2. I wouldnt say that this is NOT true. You have to remember that most of the teams we are playing now, were contracted three, four, five or more years ago. Look at our upcoming projected schedules: Kansas State - reportadly coming to denton Rice - Denton SMU - came to denton Tulsa - came to denton Akron - sending Navy to denton Air Force - reportadly coming to Denton W. Kentucky - coming to Denton I think we are moving to play teams that will give us a return game, now maybe we will still have to play one or so a year that does not for the money until we can prove to bring enough people to fouts so that we dont have to schedule money games, but i think RV is proving that these multiple body bag games will be a thing of the past. We just have to get through all of these contracts that were signed multiple years ago.
  3. I wouldn't say that the alamodome would be expensive for UTSA. It's not like their is any thing else going on in there very often, so I would imagine that the city of San Antonio would let UTSA use the facility for not much more then routine expenses.
  4. I tend to fall on the side of I think that this stadium is nice and all, but if we spend 65 mil on a stadium, I hope like hell it doesnt look like a overgrown Texas High School Stadium. I say that becuase all this stadium is, is a bunch of bleachers linked together with not a lot of thought put into the appearence of the stadium itself. Now if it means that we have to have a 35 thousand seat stadium instead of a 45 thousand like this, then that is fine, but put me down for something that looks a lot nicer then this
  5. It seems to me that it already had a name, DODGEBALL
  6. Exactly right, keep in mind that in the Dickey offense you need big road graders that could run over and wear down defense lineman, in this offense you need tall guys with long arms that can keep the D-lineman at bay and away from the quarterback, not to mention they need to be quick because they are basically standing up and letting the D-line and linebackers come to them, so they have to adjust quickly.
  7. GN - That was my wife who was the penn state grad, and a funny story about the two ladies next to us. One was a players mother and the other (the loudest one) was just a friend and that was her first NT game ever, and she said she really enjoyed it and would certainly be coming back. Also, once her and my wife got started talking about Penn State, they discovered that they were born approximatly two miles apart. Small world
  8. The Sunbelt crew is certainly possible. In most inter-conference games (exception money games - because the big schools dont want small school officials) the on field officiating crew is from the road teams conference, while the sideline and booth officials are from the home teams conference.
  9. Yes and he was awsome, but remember those days they were under Ledbetter and ran a version of veer/split T type offense
  10. If you dont mind me asking, but what are those rules and regs. as to this situation
  11. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You I could unterstand and tolorate the loss to OU, but I cant be happy with a loss to SMU win we have chances to win in the fourth quarter and blow them by costly mistakes. If we get beat, we get beat, sometimes their just isnt anything you can do about it, but when you lose a game becuase you made mistakes then I am not happy, and never will be.
  12. ONE WORD BEER!!!!! If we sold beer inside the stadium, I gurantee you that most would come inside, and dont give me this winning BS, becasue most of the people that are sitting outside and not coming in arnt there for the football game anyway, their there for the Tailgate party, if we could extend that party inside then they would come in, if we cant then they move on the bar or some other party, Its that simple
  13. Like I said, yes it is nice that he threw for 600 yards and yes he played well most of the night, but the fact remains that when his team needed him to step up the most he crumbled under the spotlight Could of this been from tired arm? possibly but the fact remains that in crunch time, he couldnt do the little things needed to win the game
  14. Although they did look bad at some points, lets remember As Meager was imploding in the Fouth quarter, Our Defense forced two key turnovers that would of allowed us to take the lead, but for the INT's and the only score they gave up was after an INT and was given a short field. Lets give them some props for stepping up big and putting us in a position to win that game late not once, but twice
  15. Everyone that says that Meager threw for 601 yards because he made the right plays is right The problem is it could of been a lot better, many times he found the wide open reciever across the middle or down the sideline and made the right throw, only problem was the ball was underthrown and instead of the reciever catching it in stride, he had to slow down to catch it, and once he did he was able to be caught and tackled. I can think of at least three or four times off the top of my head that this happend: Fitz's long pass across the middle that he almost jucked everybody for the touchdown anyway, but a good ball and he would of walked into the endzone, I beleive Fitz's TD catch accross the middle late where he was wide open, we still scored but there was no one within 7 yards of him, and he had to stop to completely, and turn his back to the endzone to catch it, fortunalty he was on the two so he was still able to get into the endzone. On Meager's frist fourth quarter INT, the reciever had the man beat going into the endzone and if the ball would have been thrown to back corner we could of just ran under it and taken a 7 point lead late, but instead it was underthrown and the defender had time to catch up and make the INT And one last one that I can remeber without thinking to much was the last long reception by Fitz's down the sideline where he had the man beat again, but had to slow up and make a circus catch instead of catching it instride and waltzing into the endzone. Now this is four prime examples that I know of without thinking to much, couple these with the fact that evertime the pressure was on Meager folded like a house of cards, presents a big problem. That problem has been that Meager has showed the falling apart for the past three years, do we really think this tiger is going to change his strips??? Now that we have two weeks to get ready, and followed by a home game, I hope TD sees that Meager is just not cut out to be a big time QB and deciedes to turn it over to the Freshman and lets see what the kid's got against frist team defesenses when the game is on the line, and what he can do in pressure situations.
  16. Since it has been established that we have a couple of nice recievers on offense, dont you think it would make since to move Washington back to DB, cuz it is obvious that we could use his speed back there
  17. Yes you are correct, but it was by some low level organization, not any of the major reconignized polls. No where outside of SMU considers them a National Champion. It's not like one major poll had Penn State as the champion, and the other SMU like some years that there is a split NC.
  18. This is the best thing that could of happend to me. My wife graduated from Penn State, and I've had a hard time getting her behind the Mean Green, but now that she has since this, she is excited about going to this game, and she even plans on wearing her Penn State shirt to just to rub it in.
  19. So what was he supposed to say: "You know we just didnt play real well, if we would of cut down on our mistakes, I really think we would of come back with a win, because we were really only a play or two from winning that game" cuz we all know we have that 70 point play in our playbook
  20. Can we just stop all the ridiculas PF penalties and put a flag on the QB's, cuz it obvious you cant hit them anymore
  21. Correct Wasson, Daniel, McElroy, Dodge
  22. He was between Chase and Riley, verbeld to Texas Tech and the decommitted and went to Alabama after Bama beat Tech in Cotton Bowl
  23. or go up there with a couple of other students and all yall get two tickets together
  24. Okay I'm going to look at this with a Baseball perspective. Do you throw your Ace (best pitcher) in a game that you are fairly certain that you cant win becuase your offense is jsut not good enough to score on their Number 1 enough to win the game even with your best, or do you save him unitl the next game when you will face a less effective pitcher witch in turn gives you the confidence that your ACE will be able to shut them down and your offense will put up plenty of points. No matter what was said and told to us and players, these coaches know what their doing. They knew that no matter what, at this stage in the game, we jsut didnt have the talent and knowledge of the systems in place to compete with OU. So it sounds to me like the kept everything close to the vest in an attempt to not show other Sun Belt teams and SMU things. I know their will be some of you out there that will say we brought Dodge in here to compete with the big boys and that was why we got rid of Dickey. Let me be clear, Vince Lambardi, Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, and Knute Rockney all rolled into one, could not beat OU Saturday night. Now that is not a knock to our kids, but it was painfully obvious that our talent level and team speed did not belong on the same field as OU. And I dont want to hear about APP State as well, becuase if you watched that game (like I did) you could see that they had the team speed to compete with Michigan and I think that we will have that same kind of speed in a couple of years, but until then we just have to take our lumps against the big boys and go out and beat the small schools until our team speed will allow us to play the big boys with the same kind of fever that App State and Boise State can.
  25. Hey King I finally got me tickets and I've been moved to Section F row 30 seats 7 & 8 thanks
