  1. While I was disappointed in the turnout for the basketball game as far as numbers go, but i thought that those that were there were really into it. As far as me I had a great Saturday. Got to the parking lot at 8am, cooked up some beacon for breakfast, went on to cook up a bunch of sausage for lunch, went in to Fouts and saw a great game, after the game cooled down a bit, walked over to the Pit, ran into an aquaintance of my wife's (not to mention i was able to drag her around with me all day) and was able to sit down on the floor right behind Rick V. It was also great to see both Rick V. and Dr. B. at the basketball game and really getting into it. There are defintly some positives going on here, and hopefully the students will take notice and get behind this basketball team like they seem to be for the football team. See yall Wed. for Okie State Scott
  2. You know i sat right behind Rick V at the Basketball game last night, and he seemed really happy and was very excited about the basketball game. I really think yesterday proved what were capple of, and once the talent gets here and were actually a good team, you will see this place explode.
  3. I believe its on the north end of the old practice fields, directly behind the Vistors section at fouts
  4. Quick question, and something that we will hopefully have to work out in the future, but how will they control students for games like this. Is it first come first serve, until gone? Honestly since the students get in free, if even half the student body decided to show up for the game, then we could be in trouble. Again this wont be the case this week, but the longer we stay in fouts, and if Dodge gets this thing really rolling and we bring in schools that these kids really know, what will happen?
  5. We're getting there at 8am to cook breakfast, I hope thats early enough
  6. nice article and i like that were looking to bring in army in 2009. Thinking about it, if what we have been hearing about future home schedules holds, then the next couple years are going to see some BIG Home field crowds in either Fouts or accross the highway.
  7. So why is the NAACP dragging their feet on this?
  8. Well I can gurantee you that we will not put up 650 yards thru the air Saturday night. Even if we play better on the offensive side of the ball then we did against SMU we cant put up that kind of offensive output becuase of Navy's offense. When they run the ball 85 to 90% of the time, we wont get enough chances to put up those kind of numbers
  9. I dont think moving Fitz inside is a demotion, you can do much more as a reciever in the slot than you can on the outside. Hell on most third downs youll notice that a teams big time recievers in the NFL (Rice, Owens, etc...) move down into the slot where they can be much more dangerous. I think this is just a chance to get better athletes on the field at the same time.
  10. Assuming Dodge and his staff are innocent of wrong doing, (witch is a big assumption at this point, but also quite likely) could this be the THING that brings this team together?
  11. Rick I dont usually disagree with you but Michigan lost to a 1-AA team as well, are you saying that we should be able to beat them? I think it was obvious that we had as much talent as MTSU does if not more, but when you give them just about everything they got, and you still have a chance to win, then it says something to what is happening. Now I dont know for sure, but i would be willing to bet that if we would of had 4 tournovers and a blocked punt in a game last year, there would of been 0 percent chance of us even being close in the game.
  12. Did the defense play well? Lets take a step back and look at the situation MTSU had a starting field position of THEIR 41 yard line, witch included drives that started at OUR 32, 10, 32, 5, and 36 yard lines. Those five drives accounted for 21 of their 48 points, and two other touchdowns came on drives that started at their 49 and 47 yard lines respectivaly So that is 35 points that were accounted for with an average starting field position of OUR 31 yard line. Not to mention that 4 more points came on the two safties were they had us pinned inside our 1 yard line. We also cant put those safties on our defense becuase if you look at it the first one happend after MTSU got the ball at OUR 36 yard line after an interception and our defense made them lose 3 yards over 3 plays and punt. The second one came after the safty kick where MTSU got the ball on their 46 yard line and our defense held them to only 12 yards on 5 plays and forcing them to punt again. In camparison our starting field position was OUR own 21 yard line, and all of our scoring drives were over 64 yards long. It doesnt take a rocket science to figure out that our defense was put behind the 8 ball all night long, and for the most part held up quite well.
  13. I have a picture
  14. Well yes your right sports south is not a fox sports channel, but the DirectTV sports pak is more than just Fox sports channels, it is pretty much all sports channels, (ESPNU, CSTV, Fox Sports, Comcast, etc.) And like I said, I am recieving a feed as of now, but like you said the game could be blacked out. Now I would ask, why would they blackout a game to the primary watching audience. That would make absolutly no sense.
  15. and as of 10:30 I am able to recieve programing from channel 631 Sports South witch is carrying the NT game. I dont know if the game will be blacked out, but if you have the sports pak feature then you can recieve this channel
  16. I might be off base, but with our load of WR's now, and since he doesnt seem to be a hugh factor, why did we move Korey Washington to WR and why dont we move him back to CB?
  17. NO!!!!!!! at least not this year, It looks like it will be at least two more years before Gainesville puts out D-1 talent
  18. As a Gainesville alum, it sure was nice to see yall get your first district win, and to beat Sanger no less is great Congradulations to you and your players
  19. The only problem I see with this stadium is that it doesnt look real friendly to expansion. The only place they could easily expand in my opinion would be the grass endzone, but putting any more seats along the sidelines (aka a second deck) would be extremely difficult and probably very expensive. But on the other hand, I would take this stadium over fouts before you say demolition
  20. well while we're at it, I agree as well Scott K
  21. you go for two when down by ten, because an extra point would put you 9 down and thus forced to score twice, where as two points gets you to 8 and a chance on one score
  22. All depends? Has ULaLa switched over to the field turf? if so the probably not much but if it is grass and gets good and muddy then then im sure it would cause him to scale back a bit
  23. 7 - 0 Tulsa Early 1st Quarter
  24. And lets face it higher enrollment doesn't mean more money, and esp. more money for our athletic program.
  25. My guess is "suitable" probably means D-1A and not D-1AA
