  1. Speaking of that, I even noticed at one point last Saturday that we went to a two tight-end look.
  2. Why in the HELL would Vizza leave? I would think he would at least wait and see if he is still the STARTER next year
  3. How can Pittsburgh justify that field. They play all the states High School Championship games there in November, Pittsburgh U plays there and the Steelers and they dont have a field turf Field Ridiculas
  4. Trust me 4.6 is not slow. Think of it this way, if a reciever is going down the field that runs a 4.4 and both of these guys are stride for stride, then over 40 yards the reciever would only be .2 seconds (or about a quarter of a step) past our DB. Unless the ball is thrown in front and over the outside shoulder (meaning a picture perfect pass over 40 yards) then our DB will have the coverage. I'll take my chances
  5. If he is a free safty, witch Im sure he would be with his size, he wouldnt need to put on much weight, maybe 15 or so pounds, witch isnt much in a collegiate weight room
  6. another way to look at it is, he can go into a living room and talk about how he coached the likes of Brett Favre and he knows what it takes to get to the "Show". I really see no reason he cant recruit against Brown and Stoops. A&M has the facilities, money, and opportunity to compete for a Big XII and National Championship every year.
  7. I was on the deck under the tent for most of the game, but it sure seemed to be a lot of activity going on after the whistle
  8. Dont forget they blocked the final FG Attempt by WKU that won the game
  9. It could also be a safty issue. An umbrella would make a nice weapon in a pinch
  10. and you know this how?????????? There was a lot of factors going into today that made attendance a factor you cant tell me that playing a team that hardly anyone has ever heard of didnt impact that. Also in all of the games that you mention with the possible exception of App St. (becuase I didnt see it) weather wasnt a factor.
  11. Yeah those are all real good schools to compare Lets see we were 1-9, it was cold and rainy and we were playing a D1-AA school Arizona St was 9-1 and playing USC Texas A&M was playing Texas - RIVAL Kentucky was playing Tennessee - RIVAL Georgia Tech was playing Georgia - RIVAL Florida was playing Florida State - RIVAL Hawaii was undefeated and playing Boise St. for the WAC Championship and possible BCS Bowl Bid Colorado was playing Nebraska - RIVAL LSU was #1 in the country and playing Arkansas for a chance to stay in the National Championship Picture App. St was in the D-1AA playoffs So yeah your right, I dont see a difference
  12. I believe it was 5,027 according to the Denton RC Blog I would say actual attendance was around 2500
  13. agreed, but we certainly had our share of dumb personal fouls and unsportsmanlike penalties. Maybe they were brought on by WKU. Your also right on with your assesment of the weather. It sure did seem to get really cold as the game went on.
  14. If they have so much money and will do everything it takes to become a winner again, why have they waited 20 years to do so? SMU was a below average football team for the majority of their time in the SWC. The only time they were more was with Doak Walker and then the Pony Express. The problem SMU has, is the same problem a lot of schools similar to them have, Name me another private church school that competes year in and year out other then Notre Dame? TCU? Baylor? BYU? etc... The best SMU can hope for IMO is TCU, witch isnt bad, but I just dont see it happing until they (meaning their alumni and fan base) realize the glory years of the SWC are over and they get to reality and except the fact that they are just a has been mid-major with a long road ahead of them to get back to being well-thought of again.
  15. While the AAC might be criminal, have you seen the devolpment around it. Even if it is costing money, the city is better off for it. Instead of an old train yard and salvage dump witch was an eyesore, they have a nice looking arena, the W hotel and ghostbar, the devolpment outside the AAC where channel 8 is located, and they are still building. Now I dont know for sure, but I would imagine tht property tax on those things isnt cheap, and while it might not make up for the lost money that was spent on the AAC, I would imagine that the just the fact that north Dallas along 35 is presentable now is well worth the investment.
  16. I guess because its technically a dome, but it does suprise me that it is not North/South orinated? I guess they forgoe that so that they could see the Ballpark our of the one endzone. Also, it sure will be nice down there once Hicks finally starts building all the filler between the new stadiums.
  17. Im in for both, GO MEAN GREEN
  18. We need to find away to watch Michigan and Ohio State, then it would be a no doubter but either way, im in
  19. As I posted in another thread I dont think TD went conservative in the second half as much as he just continued to do what he has done all year. His offensive philosophy is to take what the defense gives you, plain and simple. Tonight in the second half, they dropped 7 and 8 guys back into coverage and forced us to run the ball, which we did, and with good success. That is not going conservative, that is smart. If we would of tried throwing as much as we do into 7 and 8 defenders then this game would have got ugly with all the interceptions and incompletions. At the end of the game TD made the right calls as well. Once we got down to the 14 yard line, there was just over two minutes left and ASU had two timeouts and we had a three point lead. We ran on the first two downs to take away their timeouts witch is the corret call. If you throw the ball there and imcomplete it, then you let them save their timeouts and witch puts more pressure on the defense. On third down we ran again to put our kicker in line for a chip shot, and milk around 40 seconds off the clock, again the right call. If he makes that it then forces ASU to go to the endzone on their last drive instead of just field goal range. I know some of you are going to say that we would of lost anyway, but I disagree. On that last play our defense was playing a zone, and trying to keep ASU from getting a shot at a closer field goal, not protecting the end zone. If we would of had a 6 point lead a that point, then all of our defenders would of been around the end zone, and then there would of been no way that that reciever would of been that open. Bottom line is, We were in position to win that game, and we didnt. Why, missed field goal, dropped interceptions, and then letting a reciever get behind our defense at the worst possible time. Is that coaches fault?, I dont think so, is that players fault?, not really, its just poor execution, witch is something that can be fixed.

  21. These anouncers are killing me How do you miss that INT?
  22. way to many
  23. The wife and I will be there with two others
  24. I would almost gurantee Riley Dodge doesn't see the field next year not because of talent but rather a lack of size. The major difference between Vizza this year and Dodge next year, is that Vizza has a D-1 body and Riley dosn't. I saw him up in the stands Sat. and he is small. He is going to need that year and a half in the weight room and cafateria before he is ready to go behind center at the D-1 level Next year you keep Vizza the starter and have a capable Senior as a backup, and Riley add some poundage. Then in the spring of '08 you should see a great battle for the starting job in '09
