Utsa Signs Home Games With Houston, K-State
GreenN'walinsVet replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
Fortunatly Texas is a hugh recruiting market, and San Antonio and Dallas are far enough away that i could see some teams (especially those out of the BIG XII markets) could organize it that they visit UNT and UTSA on rotating years to really try and get a foothold in Texas. -
Is There Reason For Hope For Unt Football ?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
One major difference though is what looks to be a large difference in the talent level of Canales's group versus what Deloach had to deal with. Plus Canales is taking over an offense that could at the very least put up points on the Div. 1 level, unlike Deloach that was taking over a defense that couldnt stop most 5A level offenses. -
were good to go

As some of you may know I am managing the local Denton Hooters and today we are having all the girls dress up to support the "Troops". As a manager i am looking to show my support as well and was thinking there would be no better way then to wear a "Tank Army" shirt. Any one know if there would be any way to get one today? Thanks

Dont worry guys, we were back inside after halftime, once the rain let up. Plus we were all season ticket holders, so that was 6 paid for tickets, that we even went up got them all scanned in so that they would count for attendance, then went back to watch the game in the dry climate.

Colony Eagle: I used a ampliefied attena two weeks ago at Fouts and recieved not only the ND/Michigan game in HD, i was also able to tune in the UNT game on channel 21 so we were able to stay in the parking lot under cover from the rain for the first half and watch the game. So i do know that rabbit ears will work. Unfortunatly i have to work in the morning and will not be able to make it out early enough to get the TV up and running tommorrow.

The Swamp In Lafayette - Overhead Photo Saturday
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
Talking to someone at the game, they said that they would predict it was 60-40 Southern fans to Louisiana Fans -
Correct every member of Div - 1 is a BCS member in theory, there are 6 conferences that are considered BCS Conferences because they receive the automatic invitation to the Party.

I would seriously doubt we will see the wildcat, becuase we essentialy run a version of the wildcat as our normal offense. The wildcat really only works for teams that have pocket QB's, not running QB's. This is why it has become so popular in the NFL.

So your saying that if he was just a regular Jo attending UNT, that UNT would not have let him back in school, but since he played football he was allowed to? Do you think that if he was just an intermural player that Rec Sports would not allow him to play anymore? I understand people's reasoning about certain athletes getting special treatment, but this guy admitted to what he did wrong, apologized and did what he could to help the situation, went through the justice system, paid his time in not only public scrutiny (which by the way, if he wasn't an athlete nobody would have cared) but also had to sit out a year of football, and got the charges dropped. Now your saying that even though the UNITED STATES says that this guy is a FREE man and did not commit a felony, UNT should not allow him to play football? May I remind you that if you ran a business that way and refused to hire someone based solely on the fact that he was under investigation for a felony that you your self would be braking the law.

If this bill dies then a Lynching party needs to be organized and marched to the house of Mr. Lee Jackson.

Not to mention if Riley was 6-4, 250 he wouldn't be playing at North Texas. He would be in Spring Practice down in Austin with a very good chance of unseating Mr. McCoy. The reason Riley is at NT is because of his size bar none. No one questions his athletic ability or QB skills, the only real question mark at this point is his size. I know there have been a few random cases of small QB's that have been successful, but i promise you, there are more misses than hits in this area.

anyone catch attendance tonight? Had a great time tonight watching the game. would guess 2200???

Breaking News -- Vizza To Transfer
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Agreed. Vizza's freshman year, he was pretty good, but he was actually running the ball when he had a chance. It seemed like last year he stayed in the pocket to long and payed the price for it both in hits and not moving the football. Now im not saying that it was Vizza's fault or coaching, but either way the offense struggled to much last year to think that status quo would be any better this year. -
seems to me that FOX could of pulled over the NFL broadcasters (At least for the Championship Game). Would of much rather listened to Buck an Aikman then the two screwballs that they had in the booth last night.

Honestly a QB is needed and justified. We have 1 proven QB on the roster and he has two years left We have 2 unproven QB's, 1 that will be a junior or senior (Tune) and another that may or may not have the body to be a D1 QB in Reilly Even if Riley is the future, he will need a backup, and i would hope with Rileys small frame that the backup would not only be good, but also close to Riley's age so that if he does get hurt the backup isnt a raw prospect but rather a nice backup that has been in the system. The good programs get a good QB every year if possible. You can never have enough good QB's in the system
