Myself and the family will be there all day as well. 12 hours of football and 3 champions crowned sound like a great way to spend a Saturday

So Long To The Mean Green Club Deck?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
So who here doesn't like the look of texas's Stadium. Because our stadium will be very similar on a smaller scale as there's. They moved the scoreboard because the new one will be what? 4 times the size of the one at fouts? -
At 545,000 where does that rank for the Sun Belt and other Non Aq teams

I think some of us are missing the bigger issue here. What did we pay Dodge a year? 175k?, 200k,? 250k,?. Either way if we were going to be staying in the kind of price range for a new coach I cant imagine that we would be shelling out $40,000 for a consultant form. Hell that is around the neighborhood of 20% of the cost of the coach. This tells me that we have finally decided to stand up and put our big boy boxers on for both how we are going to hire this next coach and how much we potentially are going to pay for one.

Benson Says Wac Still Looking...
GreenN'walinsVet replied to KoldBeer's topic in Mean Green Football
Playing Devils advocate here. Is the currently constructed WAC really that bad? Yes from a National Competitive standpoint I would say so, but from North Texas's standpoint maybe not. We would be in a conference with Texas State, UT San Antonio, Louisiana Tech and New Mexico State. That is 4 schools that are closer or about the same then any conference opponent we have now. If Hawaii leaves (witch if the rumors are true then they are) would our travel budget really increase? We already make trips to the East Coast now, so going to the West Coast wouldn't add much. If you had a conference of Idaho, Utah State, San Jose State, Hawaii, New Mexico State, Louisiana Tech, UTSA, Texas State and North Texas then the power of the conference would lie in and around Texas. Also, if Hawaii leaves then that would shift the balance of power if more to the Texas area. Let me clarify that i am by no means advocating a move to the WAC, but I don't think it would be nearly the hit on the budget that some make it out to be, and in the end, it could possibly be a better fit then the Sun Belt. -
Any Tailgating Planned For Tomorrow?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to mrsgreengoblin's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Just got setup. First beer is cracked and the party has started -
Planning on being there myself and setting up around 330 or so. It's time to turn basketball pregame into the party that Saturdays are

Our best lineup today was Josh at the 1, Dom at the 2 - 1, Triston at the 3, and George plus a couple combinations at the 4 and 5. I would not be in favor of sitting Josh for Dom, it looked to me like with both out there it created some very nice matchup problems as well as quite a bit fast break opportunities.

Unt Recruiting Class Ranked #31 In The Nation
GreenN'walinsVet replied to chrisfisher's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Was talking to a UNT official today, and he didn't mention Season Ticket Sale numbers, but did mention that we have sold less then 200 tickets for the Texas Tech Game Tuesday night. He did say that this is right on track with the Oklahoma State game a couple years back as far as pre-sold tickets go, and that we expect and will have a hugh walk up gate for the game, but none the less, <200 pre sold tickets to a a BIG 12 in state opponent that we have a good chance of beating is down right ridicules. I have to say about todays game though, having the Denton ISD school kids was greatness. They were loud and really into the game. It was nice to have that kind of atmosphere for a no name opponent. The Pep Band was awesome again, and for those of you that arnt in to basketball for whatever reason you are really missing a good time. -
I would say in these kind of slogans are pretty common. Usually to help sell some new merchandise...

Those of us out there that are saying the only way to go is a big name coach ask the NT golf team how a young big school assistant is working out? Yes our womans bball team tried it and it looks like fail, but I think it just shows that there isn't a tried and true guaranteed way to do this.

I have to say that the best part of tailgating yesterday was the Red Bull Chariot races. That was great entertainment and we had a great time tailgating next to it while watching TCU dismantle a good Utah team and that thrilling Michigan win over Illinois

Question To The Green Brigade People
GreenN'walinsVet replied to the green rokemi's topic in Mean Green Football
What is hard for me to believe is that the same band that produces our football show also produces are basketball show. Correct? I know it is a completely different kind of band, but why is our basketball pep band 99% of the time better then then the opposing team and on the football field it seems that number is reversed? -
Here is my question? If Dodge had been fired at the end of last year and Canales would have been hired as the HC to begin the year would people have been upset with us hiring a proven coordinator from a good BCS school? My guess is not much. So the only reason I can come up with for the dislike is that he spent 7 games working under Dodge before getting the chance to lead this program.

This is the same polo they gave out at the alumni golf tournament before homecoming. Very nice polo as I have one, and the first one from under armour that I have seen that is the correct shade of green.

Why of course. 4 to be exact

We will be in the orange lot along the road next to the village. We will have two red tents that say snap on on them. All is welcome to come by and watch the game.
-
We have a satellite dish, a 42 inch HD TV for the rangers and a 26 inch for football saturday
-
Don't be so sure it wasn't conference related. TCU was on the road against a rival and dropped. Nebraska was at home against a D-1AA and struggled, but yet moved up in the polls.

Props To Buffalo Wild Wings - Denton
GreenN'walinsVet replied to aprice's topic in Mean Green Football
FYI, Hooters also shows the UFC fights for free. Also, a big promoter of UNT. This year we are catering the Letterman's Tailgate Tent, as well as having girls out in the parking lot for pictures and goodies. No dislike for BWW, but I agree, they have very little UNT gear up on the wall for being in Denton Texas. In my opinion i would lend my support to Hooters or Pourhouse. -

Clemson - Unt Prediction Thread
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I personally like prediction of 52-9 (with no TD's). Obviously this guy doesn't know about our kicking game. -
I'm going to the TCU game saturday night down at Cowboys Stadium. Was hopeing to get down to Arlington early and watch the NT game. Any recommendations out there?

I haven't had the chance to see games in any of the other sun belt stadiums around the country, so my question is: once our new stadium is complete will it be the nicest stadium in the belt? Also, how will we stack up on the whole against the rest of the belt facilities wise?
