Yes the Head Football Coach and President have been fired. The VP retired and the Athletic Director is still on Administrative leave and not been fired. Also the GA (McQuery) is still employed and will be coaching on Saturday as of now. On another side note the university is still paying the legal bills of the AD and VP.

BREAKING: NYTimes: Paterno is Out
GreenN'walinsVet replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Football
First off what happened was awful. But the NCAA has absolutely zero authority to penalize Penn State. The things that happened did not involve student athletes or the football program as it relates to the NCAA. This was coaches and administrators legally and morally fing up period. Mark my words there will be zero sanctions by the NCAA and that is a good thing. The NCAA has no business sanctioning over criminal matters that don't involve the program on the field. -
Correction: it appears through preliminary attendance numbers that Guyer will move back down to 4A. Creating the Ryan / Guyer rivalry once again On a side note a lot of people attend high school football games without a school connection because they enjoy football. I attend a Ryan or Guyer game at least 5-6 times a year. I live in Krum and graduated from Gainesville. I enjoy football and both teams provide good football to watch. Once Krum starts playing Varsity ball I will attend some of those games as well.

Felt like we turned a corner tonight
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I think sometimes we forget that DT has only started 8 games in his career. One ended after a quarter. His non starting playing time consisted of 2 drives his freshman year and some mop up time at Clemson I believe. That's it. The fact that the "chains" we're removed this early really shows what kind of QB Thompson could turn into in the future. He's still young and raw. It I think we just saw the kind of player DT can consistently be for his career and who knows maybe even a lot better -
Funny how we complain about the change but yet when the rangers made made the playoffs we had tickets to game 2. We also had tickets to the AM and Arkansas game as well as planning to go to the Tulsa game if the rangers didn't get homefield and sell the Aggie tickets. On Wednesday night we find out the rangers were playing at home so Tulsa was out. Didn't know till Friday afternoon the game time but still was able to make plans to attend Aggie game that morning, get a tailgate planned for the afternoon and attend rangers that night. In 18 hours no less Also don't forget game 2 of the ALCS was rescheduled from a Sunday to Monday on said Sunday morning and to Monday afternoon no less and yet the still manage to sell the game out and have over 51,000 show up.

Replay On The Big Board In Apogee
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreenWithEnvy's topic in Mean Green Football
I say you show all replays once. If it then gets reviewed you stop showing during the review. Simple. -
If you are expecting our senior class to be the class providing depth then we have a bigger problem the "depth". Seniors should be starters along with juniors and juniors and Sophs should be your depth while freshman are learning. Instead we are starting freshman and seniors with no depth coming from the Soph and junior classes.

My guess would be that obviously next game is homecoming so that will be at bonfire. The last two games are afternoon games and maybe coach Mac doesn't want his players out that late??? Just pure guessing on the last two

FYI guys. Those of you with ESPN gameplan can watch as well.

I will give you papa John's but let's not forget la colisium is not a college football stadium. It was built as an Olympic stadium that college football and previously PRO football can be played in. Thus the reason for seats
-
6:30 pm start to the ALCS
-
Why would we want all seats? Backs to the bleachers maybe, but name ONE major COLLEGE stadium that is made up of mostly individual seats. The are bleachers so you can pack more people inside. He'll remember when Michigan expanded their stadium to over 108 thousand. Not one piece of construction equipment. They just moved the seat numbers closer together and poof. More "seats".

For those not there...

Baylor? -
So can the football team just play flag football in shorts and t shirts until October because I'm pretty sure it's pretty damn hot for them in full pads as well and they play for 3 hours, not 10 minutes
-
Harry Let me add a 4th tailgaiting spot to your list. The East side of the Victory parking lot. We set up out there on the old golf course over by the pond. It is close to the "Hill" but not quite as crowded. The open grass area makes for a real nice area for the kids to play around as well. I wouldnt be suprised to see a inpromtu football game breaking out over there before it is all said and done.

Forgot the Coaches Poll was part of the BCS (what a joke of a poll that is). At least the AP poll is not part of the formula. The Harris poll is the other poll used and that i know doesnt come out unitl the 5th week. by the way we are now T-minus 20 hours
-
Emmitt, while i completly agree the poll system is screwed up you cant say the "BCS" The polls used in the BCS formula are not relesased unitl after the 5th week of the season i believe. What really gets me about the polls is when teams like Oregon drop 10 spots for getting beat by a team in front of them in the poll in what amounted as a home game for the said higher ranked team or similarly ranked team. P.S. Emmitt, see you in 22 hours!!!!!

Shot Gun Snap and hand off on 4th and 1?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
They went through replays because it was an awful spot, not because he was close to a first down. Hell after they respotted the ball they didn't even bother to remeasure. Dunbars was measured and ended a half yard short. Not dropped for a loss, just picked up a half yard instead of a full yard. Bottom line is no matter the formation or the playcall, if it works it was a good call and if it doesn't it is second guessed and picked apart -
TCU is already in. They start in the Big East next year. Done deal

GreenN'walinsVet replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
They also ended up half a yard short. Just as Dunbar did. While I to would of liked to see line up big and go down hill, there isn't one solution that works 100 percent of the time -

Won't have an AC but generator with fans should do the trick for the 3 or 4 hour nap I plan to take -

Emmitt, we teaming up or are you thinking about bringing a playstation too? If were teaming up let me to the list of things to do. Two TV's with satalitte, one tv with a playstation 3 and all NCAA games from 98 - 12. A margarita machine and bags. Like you said it will be one heck of a party. -
Season Ticket and parking passes.....
GreenN'walinsVet replied to bjrichus's topic in Mean Green Football
I was told the tickets will be in hand at the athletic department early this week and will be sent out before they leave for Miami next week -
I have an idea. The AD needs to show the games on the fouts video board and all those people complaining about tailgating over at fouts and walk, can just go inside fouts and watch the game so they won't have to walk. It's a good thing some of our fans arnt fans of most other schools. I've been to quite a few stadiums and very few have much parking near the stadium and I can't think of any that have close cash parking. That's pro or college
