Don't really see the need to rest anybody with 7 days till next game. Play to win and go to ark with some momentum and confidence

Obviously if one team is considerably better the third game shouldn't make much difference, but when teams are very close then I would argue the third game would be at best a split with the 0-2 team having the edge based just on probability. Yes we could vey well shoot 30% from the field once again because of ULL's defense but I don't see us going 11-24 from the line again (witch was the biggest reason we lost, not our FG%)

Not play like crap on senior day and beat ULL or not give up a 19 point lead to FAU would have sure helped alot

Same thing can be said for Denver. I personally think we really match up well with Denver, and with their style of play it more then likely will not be a very taxing game on us physically witch sets us up well for the next game with Middle. Not saying we will cruise to a win or anything, its just that I doubt it will be much of an up and down game.

Looking at the bracket is the 5th seed bye really the best option? I know playing a 4th game is rough, but getting the 6th seed you open with the 11th seed (Troy?). Then you move on to the 3rd seed (lafayette), 2nd seed (little Rock), and then the Championship game. 5th seed bye sets you up to play Middle in the semis. Again i know the 4 in 4 days is rough, but if your playing the 11th seed and we can win convincingly and not have to push our guys so much that side of the bracket would set up much more favorably for us then the Middle side.

Baseball is only 11.5 scholorships I believe and I'm pretty sure we are good to go on the Title 9 front already

To me this is where i think you are wrong. We constantly complain that we don't play anybody our students have heard about or care about, but most of our students have friends that attend Texas State and or UTSA. They will care about those games because bragging rights will be on the line. People don't miss our games with FAU because they haven't heard of them, they stay away because their is no connection. Yes if we brought in Notre Dame kids would come out with no connection because they heard of them, but just because kids have heard of Temple or UAB (maybe) or Fresno State doesn't mean that they are just going to start filling the stadium. They will come when there is a real interest, and bragging rights with your high school friends or even family is one of those reasons.

If the merger stays with 18 and lets give them Temple and Utah State , leaving the Sun Belt untouched. Invite UTSA and Texas Sate for all sports and UTA for all sports minus football. This leaves the Belt with 12 football teams and 14 basketball teams. West Division: North Texas UTSA Texas State Louisiana Lafayette Monroe Arkansas State UTA * Non Football East Division: FIU FAU Western Kentucky Middle Tennessee Troy South Alabama Little Rock * Non Football If the merger doesn't go to 24 and the money that would follow, this to me would be a dream scenario. Also with the WAC 100% done, it makes the Belt the clear #2 non AQ conference imo, and would also compete with the merger for #1. Also, if you can kick Monroe out and add La Tech it would make it even better. Keep the Basketball tournament in Hot Springs and play the football championship in Shreveport, Dallas, San Antonio, New Orleans, Nashville, and Miami on a rotating basis. With that kind of change you renegotiate the TV contract to make the money much more appealing and your off and running with a regional conference with plenty of big markets and up and coming programs both on the field and with facilities. I like letting them play to a point. This is to much imo. Creating a sloppy game be cause of all the contact.

Other then 1st foul on tony it looks like the officials are going to let this game get pretty physical

With all the CUSA defections and if they don't merge with the Mountain West is this still a better conference then the Belt? While there might be some name recognition with these schools is the conference long term viability better then where we are?

Can't help but wonder if the front loaded schedule of road games and constant traveling wasn't a huge factor in the academic problems of jones and Williams. I even braught this up to a bball staffer during the string of road games and he said it was tough on them, especially it being their first semester on campus and all. Not giving an excuse as much as questioning the schedule makers for that philosophy with such a freshman loaded team.

OK i have to ask: With all this zone talk and outside shooting blah blah. Why is it that people seem to think that our defense is our biggest weakness? This team with its athleticism is a far better defensive team then in past years. Hell if this team learns to shoot and continues to play defense they way they are now they will be damn near unbeatable. Need i remind those complaining that we only gave up 67 points last night. While true that may not be the Alabama defense of the championship game, we should still be able to go undefeated giving up only 67 every game with our talent level. With as much up tempo basketball this team likes to play they are going to give up a few more points because of it.

This would be my guess. A completely digital board the same size or maybe a little larger then the entire scoreboard structure that is there now. During the game you can have advertisements and the player stats but then use the full size of the board for the instant replays and videos played during the game.

what is Mitchell's age? It appears that the NBA is trying to get the league's minimum age to go up from 19 to 20 years old, and it appears that the players have no problem with that part of the negotiations

Dont forget it was a much tougher schedule this year as opposed to last as well. Especially the non-conference slate. Last year he played a not so good KState, pretty good Clemson, a not so offensive Juggernaut in Army, and a so-so Rice Compared to this year a very good Alabama, a very good and offensive juggernaut in Houston, a bad Indiana, and a very good offensive team in Tulsa. Also what appears to be a better overall Belt especially on the offensive end.

My only question would be the lack of a Nike swoosh on the jersey. Since the stripping matched up i would say they would be the new uniforms unless it is indeed an extra or set or maybe even a practice set. Seems strange not to have the swoosh on the jersey or the names on the back. Also they seemed to look different then the white jerseys from the team picture.
