Meanwhile, over at Georgia State
GreenN'walinsVet replied to oldguystudent's topic in Mean Green Football
Actually Turner was first built as a track stadium for the 1996 olympics and then converted into the baseball stadium. That should help some of the redesign of turning it into a football stadium. -

Anyone have anything on the DC
GreenN'walinsVet replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
X's and O's. Very possible. But if the roumours are true that he wasn't into the recruiting side then that just adds to the downfall that happened as our staff became older and older -

If you go back and look at Mac's first staff this was not that true. As he had to replace the good young coaches that he brought in early (Joseph, Bowen, etc...) he did so with some of his older staff and that is when things started to turn the corner towards the down hill slide -
Confirmed: Graham Harrell to UNT
GreenN'walinsVet replied to MeanGreenGlory's topic in Mean Green Football
you have to remember. Litrell is our OC. He is a leach protege and if you have ever watched leach he is the one calling plays. Period. Harrell's job is to be Litrells eyes in the sky- 69 replies

I would draw a circle with a 75 mile radius around Denton and then pop my head in and introduce my self to as many of these coaches as possible. This week is not about getting or flipping recruits, its about making or re-enfrocing relationships that will help once his staff is in place and real recruiting begins in January

I would say that yes DT improved. His decision making was much improved his senior year. Riley - Only worked with Chico for one year, most of which was hurt or playing hurt McNulty - wasn't a D1 talent. wasn't even close. Did he improve - NO - that is on Chico Dijon - One could argue he didn't want to improve, get better, or put in the work to get better. Not much Chico could do with him Again I'm not wishing Chico was still here, but i think knocking him for not making salad out of shit is wrong. Now if we want to argue that his talent evaluation is sub par then i have no argument and i agree with you, but that is a separate damnation.

So conveniently since DT had talent his improvement was due to just hard work and no coaching? but the other QB's lack of improvement is Chico's fault?

I would guess Derek Thompson would have something to say about that

I would guess it also has to do with Georgia and Bama being conference rivals. Anything they can do to make a distraction for Bama they are in. No respect We on the other hand were asked to respect their championship game and complied because its the right thing to do and builds good will in the community

which is one of the reason Patterson is gone

How should the new coach handle the QB position?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
Anyone know if Meachem was the one that secured Shawn Robinsons (Guyer) commitment? Super long shot and he still has a senior season to go, but if the connection was made maybe he wants to play for Meachem more than TCU. -
Yes it was Targeting! He turned and targeted a guy to make a text book block. Yes he could have hurt the guy, it is called FOOTBALL!!! Amazing to me that so many people are calling this as an indictment on Harris, but two years ago when we lit up Ball State multiple time with hits just as questionable and vicious we were all calling them babies and such. If the hit would have been applied by any other player other than Harris we would all be standing behind the player and agreeing that the call was BS, but since it was Harris (and because of his actions afterward is why we are not.

Putting up 34 points on the #12 team in the nation with a true freshman QB in the rain is considered a failure? Got it

Lincoln Riley denies being a candidate for North Texas job

If OU wins out they have an outside shot at getting in because their name is Oklahoma and not Baylor or TCU. Big difference. -
Time frame on a new coach?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to bstnsportsfan3's topic in Mean Green Football
Didn't Tom Herman coach both Ohio State and Houston at the end of last year. By Houston i mean assembled his staff, and coordinated them to begin recruiting while he was still the OC at Ohio State. -

Baylor vs. SMU Game Thread - 6pm ESPN
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
This Baylor D looks very soft. We may not fair much better but i will guarantee you we will at least hit SMU in the mouth, over and over again. Will that make a difference? Guess we will see
