Once again you prove that you don't really read the posts before you just blatently offer criticism. Note he said '06 where YES they brought quite a bit of fans.

I don't understand the disdain for this series. All we have talked about all off season (and the past two offseasons) is the game with SMU. It allows us a home game every over year against a team our fans and students recognize and have disdain for. It allows us a road game every other year that is an easy road game to travel too.

Report Day (glimpse into the Locker Room)
GreenN'walinsVet replied to GMG24's topic in Mean Green Football
FYI, notice the sign behind the players. "North Texas Dancers". The Locker Room will not be completed until Sep. 1st. They are using the auxiliary locker rooms in apogee for fall camp. -

Very few college kids have jobs that would terminate them for a DWI!! -
I'm sure someone is keeping count, but how many players has Litrell brought in this year?

Used Hotwire to get a room in Manhattan for a decent price. Ended up in the (MSG Area) Holiday Inn Times Square South to be exact.

MGB: Terms of Villarreal's buyout
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
You hate the man, we all get it. But if you think that the way this was handled is isolated to only UNT then your have your head so far in the sand even your feet can't see daylight. -
mainly the coaches (Tommy Perry in particular)

not sure what social media you are using, but depending on who you follow on twitter you would see plenty of social media being used by the AD department and coaching staff.

MGB: Terms of Villarreal's buyout
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
So you are going to pay the man either way. 1) you can outright fire him and publicly admonish him 2) you let him bow out gracefully. Either way he is done. If I'm looking for a place of employment as a future AD and have a decision between the 2 scenarios (all other things being equal) i choose the place that doesn't poop on me out the door if things don't go right. You can be upset all you want (cuz that is what you do, no matter the scenario) but the man deserved some of the kid glove treatment for the good he did do in the past 15 years. His ENTIRE term was not a bad. The last few years were more bad than good, but it wasn't a 100% loss either. I was not a fan of his for most of his tenure but that doesnt mean i wanted him run out tarred and feathered. There isn't a legal battle because of the settlement. Not sure why that is so hard for you to understand. If they tried to fire him with cause (so to not have to pay him) then YES there would be a legal battle. -
MGB: Terms of Villarreal's buyout
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Only at UNT? Please, this happens at just about any and all government jobs anywhere in the country. The man was under contract. We either wait for it to expire (allowing him to continue to run the department) or we come to a settlement to get him away from the decision making room. For someone all gung ho about him needing to removed, your now going to bitch about how it was made to happen? If you don't want to know or like how the sausage is made, then get out of the damn kitchen.- 74 replies

A 5th media partner is expected to join C-USA
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I heard ESPN had first pick and choose Texas vs Notre Dame, but either way the BIG 12 allowed its marquee conference game to be moved to cable TV. That whole thing is becoming one big blunder after another. Don't see them lasting to long with this leadership -

Five observations from the North Texas spring game
GreenN'walinsVet replied to GMGEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
You also have to remember this was a scrimmage. Not a game. They were working on things that the staff thought needed to be worked on, they were not out there calling the game to win or anything of the such.- 44 replies

Terrible News About the New Media Deal
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Side Show Joe's topic in Mean Green Football
Splitting it is being very generous. They are putting up 30 million of a $250 million + complex. I understand that is not just the stadium, but one would argue that the stadium is at least half that so they are getting a $125 million dollar domed stadium for just $30 million. When comparing to other high schools or colleges i don't think this should be included. -
Pretty sure they are saying that the excuse to keep benford will be because they will be better next year with Keith, not that we are scared of losing him if we fire benford.

Rice Inks $3.5 Million 3 Game Deal w/Texas
GreenN'walinsVet replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
So you (the biggest RV hater in the world) would be okay with RV scheduling us to play a "Home" game against Texas or Texas A&M at AT&T Stadium? Yes they get paid money to host the game but then they have to follow up that game with two more on the road in Austin (no different than any other body bag game, we or any other mid major program does.) -
'16 QB Augie Debiase (Florida)
GreenN'walinsVet replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
What if this is what it is. Bringing him as a PWO knowing he will get the full academic scholarship, thus saving a scholly on the athletic side -
I think we all need to relax on this signee. He is rated as a WR. Everyone on here wants us to recruit like TCU and such. Well this is what they do. They go find Athletes and put them in different positions and watch them take off from there. Would I like all of our Athletes to be 3 and 4 starts? Well hell yes but that is just not reality at this point. Lets see what this kid can do before flushing him down the tubes. We are all comparing him to the little to no offer kids McCarney brought in. Thats not fair because we know that McCarney (and his staff) couldn't figure out how to either reposition or maximize a players attributes to fit their scheme. Before crapping all over Litrell (and his Staff) lets see if they can do the evaluations and turn these athletes into football players and other positions then what their high school coach thought they could play.

Anyone have an extra helicopter we can borrow?

Sounds like to me it is a direct counter attack to our new slogan(s). Just remember though they don't consider us a rival or even worthy of being in their same universe!!! -
How Much Is the UNT Football Team Worth?
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
Hell this tells me all i need to know. When looked at from the outside we are perceived as the biggest asset in CUSA. We ever figure this out and start acting like it, there is no telling how high we can go.
