Opening Weekend Tailgate
GreenN'walinsVet replied to GreenN'walinsVet's topic in Mean Green Football
From the plans I saw, you should be fine. -
Who is coming out Friday night to kick off the season? On another note, they are trying to bring back some of the feel of the Mean Green Village that was at Fouts...Most of the business related tailgating is being consolidated around the sidewalk used for the mean green march to make it more of a centralized party.

How o make a GRAND ENTRANCE (revisited)
GreenN'walinsVet replied to SilverEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
The problem is not just singled to the band. Yes the dotting of the I at Ohio State, The Penn State Blue Band Flip, and some of the other great pregame band traditions are great, but there are others that have great pregame traditions that do the same thing that don't need the band. Texas A&M, Virginia Tech (Enter Sandman), Michigan's "Go Big Blue" sign, etc... come to mind. Others have great in game traditions: Aggies swaying to the fight song, USC lighting the olympic torch, Wisconsin's "jump around", Florida States War Chant, Florida's Gator Chomp, OSU's wave, Penn State's stadium wave, etc... The problem is UNT has no pre game traditions that bring fans in early, no in game traditions that fans look forward to, nothing. It is a football game and a football game only, and that is where the problem lies. -
2018 UNT vs. SMU FB Opener Attendance Predictions
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who works at 31 Flavors said Ferris told her that we are roughly 5-7k away from a sellout as of this morning.- 86 replies

not saying he isn't speaking the truth, but hard to believe a Sumlin recruit, transferring to Arizona to play for Sumlin again, and trying to get a waiver to play immediately.

In all honesty, if someone owned a house or property in Hawaii, and chose to relocate in Alabama, selling said asset in Hawaii should more than cover the costs of relocating to Alabama, and probably provide enough funds to upgrade the living situation.

Just have to look at is, a natural grass field with a Kelly Green painted end zone. It doesn’t look bad in person. In fact I think it looks pretty dang good and the shadowed Texas at midfield is a nice touch as well. It’s noticeable but doesn’t jump off the field at you

DMN thinks SL is Tech’s #1 choice to replace KK
GreenN'walinsVet replied to untjim1995's topic in Mean Green Football
Lets say Litrell does what he wants to this year...wins a Conference Championship, Bowl Game, 10 Wins, you name it...Where do we think the salary ceiling is for us right now? Could we go to 2mil? 2.5? or do we even try at that point and let him go with a big damn thank you and start again at the 1mil range? -
I am of the firm belief that with the state of D1 football right now, this is our last shot of being relevant and maybe a hail mary chance to play with the big boys. That being the case, i don't have a problem putting all our eggs in Littrell's basket. If he fails and pulls the ole Danny Mac on us, then i don't think it's going to matter much that it sets us back, because i think that would be the nail in the coffin at this point.
-
Which means (depending on opponent) we could at best only have 18k or less tickets available to our fans and that is probably a stretch.
-
If we ever end up in Frisco, it would have to be the only option out there. Stadium is way to small to handle a bowl game with our fan base.

while the idea seems pretty good, it just looks to gaudy for my taste (guess that's why i despise these douchbags, they love their gaudy!!!)

NT Preps for Intl Rules (meangreensports.com)
GreenN'walinsVet replied to jdennis82's topic in Mean Green Basketball
4 official games, and how many practices/scrimmages is this team getting that it wouldn't otherwise. add that to the extra games/practices from playing in the CBI and this team is gaining all kinds of extra experience. -
From what i hear the screens (while not as big as the 1 large one we have now) will be significantly bigger than the current corner board.

If we forced Fine to play Left Handed, he would still be the best QB in the room in 2014!

Underdog Dynasty Releases Preseason Predictions
GreenN'walinsVet replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
they may not be able to run over him, but I'm guessing Fine couldn't pass or see over him as well. The latter being a much bigger issue. -
Also hearing they want to consolidate the corporate advertisement tents into one area (surrounding the Mean Green Walk Route) trying to recreate the Mean Green Village from the old Fouts Days

10 GUYS WHO COULD COACH THE RED RAIDERS IN 2019
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
I just dont see Litrell going back to Texas Tech. He is a big suporter of Leach and a Leach disciple. The way Tech ran Leach out on a rail was wrong and disrepectful, and i dont believe Litrell would go there out of respect for Leach. -
The Most Embarrassing Loss in College Football History
GreenN'walinsVet replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
This game may be looked back on, as not the "most embarrassing loss ever", but the most important game in our history!!!!! This was the game that got RV to fire Mac, and in doing so made himself look even worse than he already did, resulting in his "retirement" later down the line. This may be the game that started it all. -
Do stars matter in recruiting? The data says they do
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I think on an individual basis, starts can be be very misleading. There are plenty of multiple star players being both good and bad, as well as were star players as well. Stars matter much more when you're talking about a class as a whole. The more kids, with more stars, that you can get into your program, the general theory is the better you will be. This is due to the ability to miss on a kid or two and not have it hinder your program.- 16 replies

DRC: UNT hires new softball coach
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
again..2 is not enough to establish pattern, but, his 2 hires are both young guys that have proven they can win at lower levels and again at the D1 level in the short term. Not a bad strategy for a school at our level. -
CFB Focus: Most Experienced Teams 2018
GreenN'walinsVet replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
what would lead us to believe that there would not be quality depth behind these guys? This isn't 2013...LIttrell is not winning with McCarney recruits, he is winning with mostly young guys that HE recruited. Stands to reason he would continue to recruit and restock the pipeline, unlike Mac.
