Cost of sports is driving views to cut the cord
Stan R replied to VideoEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
That's a tough one Harry - my wife has found most of her shows (non-cable shows) on the NBC and ABC apps and watches them on demand on the ipad. She's pretty much given up on the cable shows and has been "ok" with that. As for the college football stuff? That's the toughest challenge for cable-cutters. I have FiOS for internet and they do have some extra stuff on ESPN3 which is great but they disable the ESPN and ESPN2 content so that's a big bummer. I'm a huge proponent of unbundling but ESPN is the 800 lb. gorilla preventing this in my opinion. -

MLB = rangers Fridays on TXA21 (HD antenna)and occasional checking espn app. NBA = don't care unless - wake me up when Mavs are in the playoffs local teams = plenty enough to watch on local channels. -

having said that I cut my cable - I would have no problem at all paying to watch individual NT away games through MG premium or somesuch. -

Cut cable last year. Horribly painful, but the pain will ease. Substituted with netflix. -

Tell your team not to worry. We play in an air conditioned dome. Temps should be in the low 80s.

Who will be our starting QB by Conference Play ?
Stan R replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
Oh right, guess I didn't realize that. Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough. -
They're starting to grow on me now. Just win.

Stan R replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
You know what? I REALLY hope I'm wrong on this. I WANT DW to be an emergent talent that is unstoppable and miles ahead of the other guys in MAC's mind. I just think we would have heard more of this long ago to make us believe this is the case. Right now it does just sound like a smokescreen to me. Unless... wait for it.. wait for it.. we could have seen practice? oh no. now I've done it. -

This is all fun to see DW's emergence. He'll be a great quarterback after Thompson graduates. How cute too to see Coach Mac try to fire up the real contenders by scaring them with the new guy. -
post of the month.

lay off daffy eagle. IT WAS MY GENERATION!!!!!!!1!!!

Don't agree with this. In-game D1 experience DOES matter. To me it is more of a question of: Is his talent and ability to pick up the game overcome the other quarterback's experience AND talent level. In order to win that battle that tells me he is pretty darn good for a guy like coach Mac to do a 180 turnaround.

like - this is real life?
-
wow. the wheels are officially off.

agree with this 100%. Pick a color scheme and do not mix dark green and lime green. BARF.

Don't misunderstand me - I'm as optimistic as any NT homer when it comes to the start of the season. I actually see many reasons to be positive. But just like any person who has been let down time and time again, I'm going to remain guarded until I see real results. I still haven't made my mind up on Coach Mac. I think this season will be the final answer in my mind.

I never take any positives from preseason as fact. Period. Show me something when it counts and I'll believe it.

I'm torn on this because I agree with most of what you are saying but I think you attack some of "us" unfairly. Nobody is ok with losing. I guess you are directing your anger towards - ?? wealthy alums who have the capacity to make a change with their fortunes? I really don't see who you direct all of this angst at. Should people like Eddie K. be directing his monies in an all out campaign to unseat Mr. RV? Is that how you would have done things? I'm just trying to understand what your grand plan is. You obviously are not a fabulously wealthy alum or else you would have put this into action right? You tire me. I've been unhappy with results for some time in the same way that I'm unhappy with our current White House administration. What can I do that I have not already done? I'm not going to stop coming to games as some sort of protest, that ain't happening. What should I do sir to make you happy?
