  1. Totally agree. If MAC continues at NT for another 4 or 5 years with success and then decides to "retire" - would he be a good fit for this - would he want the job?
  2. wow, both of you thought I was being serious. In all seriousness - I think we have an untapped theoretical physics and macroeconomics double major NT FB walkon market we are not reaching.
  3. P1 I think your sig line isn't large or sufficiently visually intrusive. You still have work to do there. Maybe you could look to me for inspiration? Just a thought.
  4. I think there has got to be a niche market for 5 star DL guys who want to major in music. Specifically I am referring to jazz majors. I haven't done the research but there have GOT to be some big time recruits out there who have a true love for jazz.
  5. perfect word mashup here - Rue + résumé = rusume.
  6. You mean someone like Todd Dodge? Was a former NT asst. coach or so I've heard. Great idea.
  7. I used to believe that the students were the problem with attendance for NT. After this year, I don't believe that anymore. If you encourage them with the right product and get them fired up, they'll show. Apogee makes a big difference as does coach Mac.
  8. What?? Of course all 150 of us reading the basketball board care!?!? What more do you want? That's ONE HUNDRED FIFTY guaranteed fans!!
  9. I thought this was going to amend the 5 second rule for food errantly dropped on the floor. That wouldn't be a good idea.
  10. If we are on the subject of telling stories of UNT misperception, I have a doozy story. LAST NIGHT I was at my son's basketball game (he's 10) and one of the asst. coaches who is probably 17 yrs old is talking to another guy who I think said he goes to UNT. At some point the 17 yr old says "I'm thinking about going to UNT, but I want to live on campus". HUH? So that perception out there is still very much alive and kicking. After all of the dorms built (10s of millions in development) and all that has been done to fight that perception, it still exists. I had to bite my tongue not to walk across the room and interrupt the conversation. I think the other guy did say something to set him straight but that's not really my point. People still think lil' ol' UNT is a commuter school. A 36K student commuter school...
  11. De he ever figure out who was involved in the dive by robbery on second base? That was concerning.
  12. The Todd Dodge game vs. SMU in Dallas was a blast of a game. One problem though - we didn't win. I honestly thought that was the "turning point game" for NT. Our crowd there was BIG and LOUD. Boy was I wrong about the turning point thing.
  13. $80 in gas for an 80 mile round trip?? Are you driving a lamborghini?
  14. Now I'm kind of ticked that you didn't use your mic time at the recruiting party to ask "when will benford be fired?" and just run out of Apogee. I would have paid you a handsome fee for such a service.
  15. We should have handed out questionnaires to every single dang one of the 39,000 fans leaving the cotton bowl with a simple set of questions: 1.) Are you a season ticket holder? 2.) Why not? 3.) WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU ON GAME DAYS IN DENTON? 4.) Sorry, question 3 was a bit harsh. What could be done to assist your sorry ass in making the trip 30-40 miles north? 5.) Do you own a car? 6.) If you answered no to question 5, you do know you can ride trains and stuff to make it up to Denton right?
  16. I wonder if it's because we aren't going hard after top tier 4-5 star recruits and focusing our efforts on guys more in our arena of possibility? Have no idea but it seems strange to me as well. Could they be going off of the past say 10 years and not more recent results?
  17. Instead of a t-shirt - how about a sign?
  18. I was able to make the event as well. Great recap by Emmit. I thought it was funny to watch Emmit's face during some of the more controversial discussion points. I could almost predict this post. So anyway, the food was great. Too great, I had way to much but it was worth it. They handed out some very nice smallish posters of the HOD bowl trophy and the players holding it up. Also enjoyed the NT cups they were giving out as well. I was entering the elevator on the way up and Skladany and Wintrich got on with me an these two gals. Luckily our faces did not melt. They were playing the HOD recap video on all screens including the jumbos outside. This was my first view from the club area and WOW. So this is how the 1%ers do it... They were taking questions from the crowd and the atmosphere was very lively. I thought the neatest points that I remembered were from RV and Mac related to the large crowd at the HOD. RV said he was watching the game half the time and the crowd the other. Dan said that seeing the crowd at the end of the game and holding up the trophy is something that he will never forget.
  19. working out the details but good chance I'll go. 60-40
  20. My personal opinion on "turning the corner" is 100% related to attendance. If we see a very large increase in the average attendance for the year moving our avg. game attendance closer to 30K I will answer yes to your question. If we see a sellout for the SMU game I may also say yes but I would still like to see the attend. avg. for the year close to 30
