  1. Sounds like a certain fraternity I know as well. It's a common theme among campus organizations.
  2. I think the DentonRC needs a dedicated column titled "angry anti-atlethics commentary". Guest writers would include, Anti-Athletics faculty members, Anti-UNT facilities Denia residents, and Anti Everything SFASGA pro albino writers. That way, we wouldn't have to go searching in the "letters to the editor" section. It would be a dedicated section for us to link to.
  3. Right, but how many people travel with the team?? 20? 30?
  4. However, fearing that the term "Rowdy" would be too aggessive to suit their ideals, the SFASGA group decided to rename the mascot "Non-albino spirit facilitator".
  5. OOOHH. I get it. I missed what he was meaning there. Yeah, they were laughing at him because he made a mistake not a chauvenist comment. Big deal.
  6. Pretty bad judgement, Jeesh.
  7. Well, mabye, but that looks a hell of a lot better than the College Inn.
  8. Sorotiy Row - DRC I think it is interesting that one of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority sisters says that this will improve attendance at the atheltic events. I'd have to agree!! Also, I think it is interesing that the school has agreed to fund this and then "lease" the facilites to the sororities. That to me is further proof that sororities are completely different from fraternities. I don't think you would ever see a fraternity go for this setup.... Also odd that all five buildings are connected but with a commons area in the back. Interesting concept.
  9. Well, I lived in 4 places during my time at UNT 1.) Sig Ep House. Interestingly enough this no longer exists. It is now a scenic parking lot. Good times here though. 2.) Sierra Apartments. This too, is scheduled to be demolished as a part of the UNT master plan. 3.) Eagle's landing Apartments. Well, this was by far my favorite place to live. Sort of like the "Melrose Place" of UNT at the time. Great walking distance to Fouts! 4.) Maple St. Apartments. Not too bad, good location, but too spread out and impersonal.
  10. UTD has the strategic relationship with Texas Instruments. TI has agreed to build a 3 billion dollar, 225K sq. ft. wafer fab plant in richardson. This has been billed as the largest investment in North Texas (the region) in maybe 20 years. I also know that TI is continually giving monies to UTD for research purposes. So the state sees the connection there and is attempting to keep that money coming from the corporations. UTD is the rain maker it seems in this case. Thus, it gets additional state funding. But I don't think that UNT will be left out of all of this. Once the research park is completed and the engineering dept. is up and running smoothly, UNT will get a better slice. Incidentally, I know a good amount of this from what I hear from my father who is the head of the wafer fab R&D department. And worked for TI in R&D for almost 25 years. Also... He's a mean green fan even though he's an Aggie...
  11. I'm sure this was mentioned before, but when does our first season start and where are the home games going to be played? Thanks
  12. Did anyone notice that the Baylor game ticket price is $20 while the rest of the games are 16??? Have we ever done that before where we raise the cost of a single home game similar to what Texas Tech does when UT comes to town? For the record I think it makes sense. I would much rather pay $20 to see NT beat Baylor than $16 to see us beat ULM or whoever.
  13. On the other hand, if you haven't seen Orange County, that's a hilarious movie. I recommend it. It's all about a good kid coming from a dysfunctional family trying to get accepted to Stanford. Just saw it a couple weeks ago.
  14. Any sports movie in which the main character is either a monkey, dog ,chimpanzee or Joey from "Friends".
  15. When I was at Sam Houston State for a year I lived in an Apartment complex next to the Girls Softball field. Those games are pretty exciting. Softball is a bit of a misnomer. I would love to see a few of those games.
  16. Wow! when did they do that? After the NMSU game? I guess I didn't go over that area or I'm sure I would have noticed that. That's great! Those little trashy stores over there were nasty anyway. Some campus beautification along the way!
  17. 300 beds??? The texas pickup wasn't that big! Are they going to tear down that shopping strip area behind it or where are they going to find the space for 300 beds?
  18. How large is this dorm slated to be? Capacity?
  19. Are you referring to the climbing wall glass enclosure??
  20. That is flat out hilarious. I can just imagine the mom screaming out "he's tryin' to get paid!!!" Ridiculous, obviously, but also sort of sad and funny at the same time.
  21. He was at the ULM game last week. That's pretty cool, eh??? GMG!
  22. Well, Dr. Burgess, the republican for Denton county has won his election and is now (correct me if I'm wrong) the FIRST EVER North Texas graduate in congress. Congrats and good luck!
  23. I don't know if this was posted earlier or not - but check out the link. This is the revised 2002 master plan and WOW - there are some incredibly big changes and thousands of square feet of new parking and buildings. The biggest two things seem to be the two parking garages in the Fouts field parking lot and the "greenway" from the gateway center to the middle of campus. That would be really awesome. Take a look at some of the details of this. There really are an enormous amount of additions in this plan. 2002 MASTER PLAN GMG!
  24. Might be a good Idea to speak to the Dean of your college. They (I would think) might try to squeeze in some extra spaces in to those classes if this prevents you from graduating.
  25. Well, that is a little different. All college of engineering classes will be on campus, at least from what I understood. Only administrative offices will be off campus in the new UNT research park.
