  1. I think we do have some good shooters, Sturns is another one who I've seen shoot really well at times. But if I'm the coach after the 4th or 5th steal I see out there from a double team, I'm calling a time out for a serious change in strategy. Doesn't any good coach do that when his team is getting manhandled like that? 92?? any answers?
  2. Yep, the title "whupped" pretty much sums it up. This wasn't an "off day". Their players were bigger, more talented, faster, better shooters and were better coached. They also shot free throws better. It was an embarrasing loss and JJ should be embarrased by his lack of adjustments and putting that ridiculously prepared team out on the field.
  3. Here's a pretty stupid question from a guy who knows pretty much nothing about the DT position other than you have to be really big and really strong, and I guess pretty fast. Is there really any technique to playing DT? Or is it, well just push the guy in front of you back and get to the other guy holding the ball?
  4. Don't worry, rick.. Not all of us from the cheap seats are complaining. I don't think you can find a better value anywhere for your money in the $5 cheap seats. Great job Rick, I think you're doing a great job and keep up the good work. As an aside, I think the smoke and lowering of the lights was a great idea, something to keep doing.
  5. The super pit holds 10,000 I believe. And it was pretty full in several sections. I think the number is right. Only question I have is how many seats are in the bottom sections vs. the 5$ seats section. I think substantially more are in the bottom half. anyone know?
  6. Well, I'll add my two cents now. Like another poster said, when the lights went down, and all the smoke came out as the players ran out onto the field, that was by far the best experience I've been to at the pit. The 4,300 fans made it electric. I got chills when I thought about how close this team is to exploding into the "big time". I think this team really deserved these size crowds earlier in the season, but better late than never. I plan to be there with all of my family as well. WIN THE BIG ONE GUYS! WE'LL ALL BE THERE!!!
  7. A large picture of robert e lee, some confederate flags, oh wait, you meant what is housed there now after they were kicked off campus. Sorry I've got no idea.
  8. I can just picture DD with a Blackberry text messaging his recruits. "wha's up fool?"
  9. There are no infadels in Denton! We are victorious!
  10. Thanks for the information, RV. Always enjoy reading your posts, good to get a state of the union. And yes I would attend a quarterly meeting and or a "recruits video session" similar to what we had last year. Oh yeah and my wife missed the "football 101" session at the AC w/the margarita machine but really wanted to go and would definately try to make it again this year. That was a really great idea and one I'd probably even be willing to attend.
  11. yes, it did set off a warning - whoever is the current DE in that position had better be doing some serious off season workouts or he's going to lose his job.
  12. Holy cow, those Mike Tyson quotes are HILARIOUS!
  13. Nobody is saying it isn't your right. I just don't like it. That's my right too, by the way.
  14. Coming with 1 extra for Thurdsay, 4 extra for Saturday. WIN WIN WIN!!!!
  15. I saw this last night and made some choice comments to my wife. Ridiculous. Should be a fine for something like that.
  16. welcome to the Sun Belt, Liberty U!
  17. He's been certified by Bono? Wow, that guy is into everything. World Peace, rock music, and now rating high school football talent.
  18. I think the general public is very perceptive of the basic level of talent and even moreso, the drive and passion that the coach and the players have to win. If they come to see a competitive game and hustle from the players, those people will probably want to come back. If they see a coach that doesn't care, players with no hustle and just there for the scholarship, they probably won't be back. I don't think some times we here on GMG.com give the average non-sports fan enough credit. Everyone has common sense to spot a program that cares about a particular sport, players and coaches that are driven to be their best. They see it and THAT is what brings them back. This year as opposed to some in the past it seems as though the team believes it can compete and they are genuinely exited about their prospects. That is why we are seeing bigger crowds, IMO...
  19. I've spoken with another professor that speculates that Dr. Pohl wasn't forced out that he likely just wanted to move on. Typically a university president stays 5 yrs. He's been here for 6. Take it with a grain of salt I suppose...
  20. Whoa. My time at NT - 1995-1999 was without a single winning season.
