Whew, that was a close one!

Goodness this is embarrassing.

Just like the 33,000 students at UTA who has experienced a 60% growth in enrollment since 2000. I've read that schools all over the country are experiencing declining student attendance at football games, even the "big boys". Returning to UAB, this news is a real pity.

I drove by their campus a month or so ago and was really surprised at what Liberty has done in a relatively short time. The campus and stadium are really nice. I think every college-bound child that has been home schooled goes to Liberty. It is one thing to offer constructive criticism. For an adult to make fun of a 21 year old is another.

If they are looking for a "sexy" hire, they need look no further than whoever is at Middle Tennessee State.

I'm not so sure. Since I became a huge fan in 1971, and will remain so, we have only enjoyed about 15 winning seasons. Once that sinks in, you realize something is fundamentally wrong here.

This has become very common and technically, they are correct. But it really pisses me off when a graduate of UNT Dallas passes themselves off as a graduate of UNT Denton. Joking aside, a few years ago, I read a completely serious article giving advice to those youngsters who went to less than stirling colleges. For example If someone asked you "WHERE did you go to college ?"According to the article, no matter if you attended North Texas Central College, Sul Ross Sate, or Blinn Jr College, you could and should reply, "Texas".

For 70 years, you would have to include Jack Sisco, Odus Mitchell and Fry. That's it but yet we are all still here!

Please define OK. A .500 season? A visit to the Bahama Bowl to face another OK program? Our 2015 season? We were blown out by a team that lost to Bowling Green and suffered another blow out to a team that lost to Northwestern St. I'm afraid we have a long ways to go. Yes, they really embarrassed themselves and the conference with their dirty play against Navy last year. I'm glad Navy won.

About five years ago, the student newspaper at UNC published a condescending editorial stating that ECU was now "ready" for the Big East and should be admitted immediately. The fact is, at least in football and in most years, ECU would be one of the top teams in the ACC much less the former Big East. The academic argument has gone away...look at Louisville now in the ACC. Plus, its not like ECU is Sul Ross State. When was the last time someone held Mississippi State up as a paragon of academic prowess? As far as ODU goes, watch out. Sure their attendance is only 20,000 but that is what their stadium holds. They never planned to be playing D1 football so soon after resuming football and are working hard to build a new stadium similar in size to Apogee. The Lt Governor is from Norfolk and he is lobbying hard to make this happen. As usual, politics are in play so will will see what happens.
