  1. Nice! In the old days, we used to do that as well.
  2. Portland State lost tonight to No. Colorado who has a losing record in Big Sky conference play.
  3. Kudos to the American Sports Network who had us listed as such on the score banner throughout the night.
  4. "May assist in preparing and distributing team programs, schedules, etc. " OK Coach, remember that programs are $5.00 each. After you sell 50 and hand the money over to RV, you can come down to the field and get ready for the game.
  5. One of the greatest collection of essays from our young republic, The Federalist Papers, was written using pseudonyms.
  6. Gardner Webb is such a loser.
  7. About a week ago, I sent some money to the Mean Green Club. In response, here is what I received (with the amount blanked out, of course) That's it! No follow-up email, call, anything. It was not much money, but still... A few years ago, I tried to buy tickets for the Ohio-North Texas game through our ticket office. I finally gave up and ordered them through Ohio's ticket office. Within a day, I was bombarded with invitations to join the Bobcat Club and to this day, still receive news of their games and other activities. No wonder we get frustrated. In response to Oldguy's idea, I would question the legality of state employees working on commission. If the Mean Green Club was its own 501c3 entity, then this would not be a problem but most, if not all, professional fundraisers will not work on commission. Order Confirmation - Monday, October 12, 2015 Thanks James! Your order number is 239074 Mean Green Club Drive Year 16Myself , , - Payment Details - Thank you for your payment!
  8. Last night's CBS commentators were laughing it up about the "worse loss in major college football history", or words to that effect. We were called North Dallas. Our beautiful stadium was about empty. We were the butt of jokes at a press conference in Philadelphia. I suffered through the disastrous 1972 season when we went 1-10. The only win being a squeaker over Cincinnati with blow-outs from Drake and Louisville. Even West Texas State beat us that year. At least we had exciting MVC basketball to look forward to. What do we have to look forward to this season? Our athletics program is in shambles. Something needs to be done quickly, but I'm preaching to the choir.
  9. You're not including UT, Knoxville, are you?
  10. I'd personally like to see more shades of green on our uniforms. Three or four just isn't enough.
  11. I've never seen a statue of a committee.
  12. If the city manager's first Chief of Police was fired, then he hired a Fire Department Chief that could not do his job, and then his second Chief of Police was fired, then yes, I think any responsible city council would be showing the city manager the door.
  13. Shoot...get Bill Mercer back.
  14. Yes, it's pretty glaring that Dean Scott is not on that list.
  15. Happy Birthday, Rick!
  16. Class.
  17. Details at 11...
  18. Penn is 1AA, not IA.
  19. Yes, if we win today it will only be the second time in our 125 or 126 years of football that we have beaten a ranked team!
  20. I must remind everyone I predicted this way back in March!: Wait until we give Portland State the licking they so richly deserve. Just try and keep us off the field! 2
  21. Yes, IIRC, West Texas, NMSU, Drake, and Tulsa were the only football schools left in the MVC as Cincinnati, Memphis State, and Louisville had gone. Bradley and St Louis never played football while North Texas was in the Valley. I don't think Fry really had much of a choice. Of course we could have gone independent in football and remained in the Valley for the other sports but we were never really competitive in Valley basketball anyway.
  22. At least it MAY be somewhat competitive.
  23. If we win, which I hope we do, at least we'll get credit for an upset.
