I'm not certain that is good or bad. A number of G5 schools, notably from the Sun Belt, had some success playing $$$ games.

That 40M figure represents total revenue, not earned revenue. Our earned revenue (ticket sales) has hovered around 1M for a number of years. The overwhelming bulk of the balance comes from student fees and university support. I'll admit that the numbers are murky at best.

Revenue from the football program can't even pay for the head coach's salary, much less anything else. Winning consistently will solve everything. Increased promotions may bring people to a game once or twice but is not sustainable.

He will be the Director of Bands, not the marching band director. Here, he is the third man out of three. At Ithaca, he will be the top man. Well deserved.

It was announced today that Dr. Dan Cook, the director of the Green Brigade has been named the Director of Bands at Ithaca College. Ithaca, located in upstate NY, has a very prestigious music school and this is a great step up in his career. He had done an excellent job both with the Green Brigade and the other ensembles he conducts. He is a fine man as well and will certainly be missed.

I think we can all agree that our branding is a mess. Even on this board, people will refer to us as the Mean Green Eagles, albeit rarely. I suspect with the new regime, we will go through another rebranding, compounding the problem.

Joking aside, I always think about this when we do have a coaching change. The new guy arrives with his beaming and proud family and there are hugs for all. We have speeches about how Coach X is the right man for the job and how they are going to turn this ship around. Except they don't. And the cycle repeats. While I am still vertical, I really do hope the next man is the one.

Yes, I've often worried that many Mean Green fans are "talking through" what has become one of our best seasons in recent history. These don't come around that often.

Isn't that the truth! Coming from Virginia, I enrolled in the autumn of 1971 without any previous visits. I had never seen such an ugly campus in all of my life. The facilities were bad as well; overcrowded classrooms, crumbling infrastructure, etc. At West Hall, they had three of us to a room.
