Compare it to the other games on ESPNU. Many of the streaming and cable services do not carry ESPNU. Games on the major networks and ESPN have 20 times the available watchers.

If they do decide to rebuild the Pac there is always the chance they could pull teams from the American. That is the stability I was referencing. If they do go to the MWC, IMO we need to add some more schools. Not sure if Army will join. No more CUSA schools. While they might not fit the normal American model, I would like to see App State, JMU, and Texas State added to get to 16.

Will be interesting to see how they fill their schedule.

Don't they have to have eight teams to remain a conference? Could they join the WCC for non-football sports and play football independently? I'm not sure how they can stay in the Pac unless they take in the WCC teams, and they all play non-football sports as the Pac. ** In this unique case (a conference dissolving) the NCAA might grant them a one or two-year window to try and work something out, but I hope not.

In addition, I believe if a coach leaves/gets fired, that opens a 30-day window

I want to see us continue to go after FCS and D2 players standing out for their teams. Also, just like in Basketball, I believe a lot of good JUCO talent is being missed out on as teams are now using the portal more.

I think it can work if you have the right players. Iowa State has also got it done without a lot of higher-rated recruits. Hopefully, we have a recruiting plan to get the transfer players that fit this system.

Sadly, and I am not saying this was our issue, many players seem more concerned about making the highlight hit or forcing a turnover rather than using fundamental techniques and tackling the man with the ball.

It makes you wonder how much actual live tackling occurs during the practices. I realized that there are more and more restrictions on what you can do in practice, but there seems to be nothing that can simulate tackling, like doing the real thing in a live situation.

UIW was coming off a good playoff run, and they were pumped up. It was not a question of if Kinne was leaving but where he was going. He had probably been setting the stage for several weeks.

Talk about someone that's full of himself. Dude you're almost gloating that you hope we have a bad team.

My big concern remains that from the time he was announced as a hire, many of us were very worried about our ability to have the proper personnel to run the 335. From my view of the outside looking in and not trying to say it after just one game, I still think we lost the opportunity to bring in transfers on the defensive side of the ball to have the right personnel, at least on paper, to run this defensive scheme.

Kinne also has 6 of his coaches from UIW, including both of his Coordinators.

With Colorado, there was no question of the talent level bought in. Texas State seems to have done something right. I have heard there is a bit of a not-so-friendly competitive relationship between Morris and Kinne. There seem to be a lot of similarities between the two. It will be interesting to see how they fare against each other.

The tackling was so poor that I am not sure what Defense scheme might have worked. Hopefully, they are pounding home the fundamentals this week and not worrying about trying to strip the ball or make a highlight hit. Wrap them up and get them down.
