  1. I would not be an advocate of ever rehiring Darrell after the stunt he pulled on his way out. That being said, he has done a good job of changing his coaching style to fit the talent he has. In no way are the problems in A&M anything to do with him. If you look back, the more Jimbo got involved and pushed Darrell out, the worse the offense performed.
  2. One of my primary takeaways is that we have not learned the risk of hiring a purely offensive-minded head coach. Perhaps if Jared had more time on the job or Wren had done his job correctly when Morris presented his plan, they should have stopped it if he did not say he was bringing in an experienced defensive coordinator.
  3. If something like this were to happen (and I don't think it will), I could see Morris reaching out to PB. He's familiar with many of the players and has the experience to work with different schemes.
  4. Last year with Seth, there were complaints that we did not have the talent to compete in the American. The complaint is that we have the talent and are not utilizing it. I'm not saying Morris has not started very poorly, but we need to get together on the talent level at some point.
  5. This seems eerily similar to a movie premiere where you hear promising things about it. There has been great marketing and outstanding editing for the promotion, and then once you get into the actual show, you're wondering what in the hell is going on.
  6. Or Defense, watching the other team go by them
  7. Alternate color unis ONCE a year for any sport besides Geen and White. Across the sports, we cluster F the advantage of marketing the "Mean Green" name (For example on St Patrick's Day the softball team's game was on TV and the introduction was "Where else would you want to be today other than the home of the Mean Green." We run out in freaking black on this of all days. And yes, I know there will be "the players like it", but when you are historically bad branding and being able to promote alumni interest, maybe you would get the hint what you have been doing has failed.
  8. I also want to give Morris a chance and hope he can make the necessary adjustments and changes. But I hope he learns quickly and doesn't wait like Seth to find himself a good defensive coordinator and turn that side of the ball over to him. That seems to be the common theme with air raid coaches, almost giving the perception that I can outscore anyone else as long as I have an average defense. The problem right now is our defense is way below average.
  9. If Morris cannot fire his DC, them he needs to go!
  10. Out of frustration, I have to bring up that we wonder why so many people questioned UNT getting an American invite (seems more likely know it was to make sure the American had a team in the DFW area). Also, maybe it is time we stop talking crap about other teams (like Texas State) not deserving?
  11. Players can play four games and still red shirt. If this continues we might have a few say goodbye
  12. Call PB and ask him to please come back
  13. If Morris turns out to be a wrong move, that doesn't mean keeping Seth was right.
  14. At this rate, we (and by we I mean you Jared) will lose out on the momentum of joining the American. No doubt Eric is a great interviewer, and hopefully, he rights the ship, but it looks like he has no control of this team.
  15. Army, App State and JMU
  16. Can someone help me understand the substitution rules in college soccer? Thanks.
  17. They do seem to be heading in a direction where they are willing to invest, but time will tell how much and the results. It might come down to how much, if at all, a footprint in Texas means to the MWC.
  18. UTEP would accept in a heartbeat, but that doesn't give you a Texas footprint. It seems they were interested in UNT and UTSA right before we joined the American, but I don't think that will be in play. Texas State? I don't see how that would make sense unless they were also going to try for, say, La Tech.
  19. In two to three years, or sooner, WSU and OSU will not be the same programs they are today. Any way this ends up, they will bring in a lot less money and probably have to make some difficult downsizing moves.
  20. For years, G5 players have been denied waivers that were handed out like candy to P5s - Most people did not care. Like most things, until it impacts their P5 programs, these coaches don't give a crap. Mental health is important, but it is starting to get where that is added to anything schools are trying to get done.
