Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner. Dickey ball has proven to be the best ball played in the Sun Belt, but I believe everyone will agree that it is not the most exciting. Combine that with the typical opponent we get at home and it is not hard to understand why it has been a challenge to get new fans in the stands. Say what you will about UTEP, but even in their really bad years they played a wide-opened game – they might give up 50 or more but they were scoring 40+ a game. So even though the fans new they might not win they knew they would be entertained.

The coach should have come right out and backed the administration. No player, at this level, should ever be made to feel he is bigger than the team. Seems like the coach has a little bit of a problem enforcing discipline.

One of my big concerns for this game is that I believe LaTech will take this game as more of a challenge to their future (C-USA) than NT seems to (reference our OOC record under DD). So, it all depends on which North Texas team shows up. If it’s the team that played FIU – Tech 34 NT 13 If it’s the team that played so good against ………, uh oh we could be in trouble

Yes, but we win in the Sun Belt (sorry you can not erase DD's Big West record) and most who do not wear green glasses do not give theat much more credit than 1-AA

Everyone has heard the saying we lean from our mistakes. Anyone that has one ounce of objectivity would have to admit that DD has not done a good job at preparing back-ups, especially at the QB position. So with all of DD’s talk of how young we are can anyone PLEASE explain to me why we are not getting Philips or someone into the games? And please do not give me “the games have been too close” or “we have to believe DD has a strategy”. The sad thing is that if something should happen to Meager, Dickey would come out and say “well you know X (whatever team we were playing) is a really good and experienced team with a lot of talent and we were so young to start with it only made things more difficult when we had to go with Philips at the QB position. You know we’ve been meaning to get him more reps but the time has not been right”. Well I guess it’s a lot easier to make lame excuses when you feel no pressure for your job and all but laugh out loud when the reference is made that you should care about what the alumni and fans think.

With DD and Ramon both being QB's they should have known how weak we were at the position. They should have had a 2nd or even 3rd JC in the picture.

Agrred, Drews accident was tragic. But, DD should have signed a JC QB. Even if Bryley had not flunked out we were not going to have any experience.

Tech's OC is Skip Dykes (Spike's son). Like Tech or not they are putting on a good show. It's funny but if you open it up on O good players will come your way. Another example - UTEP has always had a good supply of above average QB because the players know they will get a chance to shine.

The Miners strength on the D is their team speed and on the O it is their passing game. With our inability to maintain ball control I’m afraid the outcome would not be what the Mean Green fans would like to see.

You know if DD would add a few positives in with the negative doom and gloom people might have a little more respect for these quotes.

If things in Aggieland don't change will they be making a change. Coach Fran might have a big contract but I would think the Aggie faithful would have no problem raising the money.

If you did not get to watch the game you missed Coach Fry and the ESPN crew (Dave Barnett and Craig James) alll but do an Infomercial for all the potential there is at UNT and how great the new athletic facilities are looking now and how special things could be when it is all completed.
