  1. It’s a given, at this time that we need to money and need to schedule a BCS game for the $$$$, but it often seems where we read that we get $500K for playing the UT’s, OU’s and then ready where ULL gets $600K. My question, and its probably hard to calculate, let’s say instead of a Top5 to Top10 program and get $500K we plays a Top15-Top25 program and get $400K – Is the extra $100K worth the lost revenue from perspective fans you do not go to a game after a 60-7 loss?
  2. Sorry, it was late and I'm on Cold Meds
  3. Sorry but I don't buy into the "middle of nowhere” line. This time of year there are festivals everywhere in this area, from El Paso to Juarez to Southern Mew Mexico. In the past when they played poor there would be crowds of 15K to 20K, but they have focused on the Game Day experience. They have made their games the place to be on Game Day.
  4. Why put this on the board – Mike Price has said that he wants to recruit Houston and Dallas a lot harder. His wide open style is very intriguing to many players. His presence will have an impact on the players we recruit. P.S. - The sale out is expected with the game on local TV. They are looking at selling SRO tickets.
  5. So that's what they mean by the ROOT of all evil
  6. The Poll on what's wrong with the team? I understand and respect the moderator’s rights, but IMO things are getting a little too sensitive.
  7. No. you earn respect
  8. Where else but the Belt does a team feel good with a 3-4 record after getting beat by a 1-AA team ALSO "We've got five games left" - Are they playing 12 this year or is he already counting the Bowl?
  9. The problem with that is everything is subjective and outcome based. Case in point, during the USC – ND game since USC scored it was a great decision, but if they don’t score it would have been considered on of the biggest mistakes ever.
  10. Yes but………, I mean ........., well you have to understand......... If we had a new stadium (sorry Plumm had to say it) everything would be OK
  11. Although it did not hit the US - Stan was a bad one also
  12. Rent out the Pit to Big 12 teams
  13. One report said it was the most powerful one this year
  14. Google ask -Did you mean: alumni but then it shows many references for Alumus
  15. Slow Day Feedback has been sent
  16. If you do a Google search you will find that many Universities reference ALUMUS
  17. My mistake on the rating. Seems there is one scale for the NCAA and another for the NFL http://football.stassen.com/pass-eff/ PASSING EFFICIENCY
  18. What is Scott doing now?
  19. Shaft - it could also be said that we also miss out on some good recruits because of the style of ball we play. Even when they were ral bad UTEP puleed in some better than average QB and receivers due to the style of O they used. Again, IMO, we can try and play Dickey style "smash mounth" ball in the Sun Belt, but the OOC performance (not just the OOC records) speakes volumes.
  20. 47.8 measured under the NFL system 82.6 in the NCAA system - Still Last in the Sun Belt
  21. Cable companies and satellite dishes. Just wondering but how much of an impact does having what seems like every football game played on a weekend on the air have in keeping causal fans away from games in area they did not go to school? Year’s back you would have a lot of people move in to the Dallas, Houston, etc. areas that had went to college elsewhere. Since they could not see to many games they might have been more likely to go to a NT, U of H, etc. game. Now they can stay at home and see any number of games.
  22. Ding. Ding. Ding. We have a winner. Dickey ball has proven to be the best ball played in the Sun Belt, but I believe everyone will agree that it is not the most exciting. Combine that with the typical opponent we get at home and it is not hard to understand why it has been a challenge to get new fans in the stands. Say what you will about UTEP, but even in their really bad years they played a wide-opened game – they might give up 50 or more but they were scoring 40+ a game. So even though the fans new they might not win they knew they would be entertained.
  23. The coach should have come right out and backed the administration. No player, at this level, should ever be made to feel he is bigger than the team. Seems like the coach has a little bit of a problem enforcing discipline.
  24. One of my big concerns for this game is that I believe LaTech will take this game as more of a challenge to their future (C-USA) than NT seems to (reference our OOC record under DD). So, it all depends on which North Texas team shows up. If it’s the team that played FIU – Tech 34 NT 13 If it’s the team that played so good against ………, uh oh we could be in trouble
