Last night was a case of two coaching staff playing “not to lose”. It was a gutsy performance by the players to going for so long. The thing that worries me is that so many in the Mean Green world have low expectations and will settle for any “ray of light”. Now somehow we will squeak through the worst D1 conference and the calls will be there that DD deserves one more chance. I will say this for those of you who see through green glasses when it comes to DD – I may not agree with your view but I respect your right to support who you want to, BUT please do not gripe about the Administration or BOR support, or lack of support for athletics when you yourself do not hold the Coaches to higher standards.

There are often many ways to get to the same end result. Bottom line - Yes this was a win. No - it's nothing to feel good about.

If you would not want Mike Price you are crazy. As it goes most of the issues with him have now been proven false, or there is no evidence to support the claims. As Price does is get out and promote, promote, promote. He is extremely positive and he is bringing higher caliber athletes to UTEP than they have ever seen. In addition the amount of press Price receives is great for UTEP. PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK!!

Look, I might not support the man when it comes to being our coach but I only wish him the best if his health has taken a turn for the worse as some are mentioning. I hope it’s a case of being stress and being tired and no permanent issue.

One of the things I would love to see Dickey do is to take a chance and install a new, wide open offense. We keep hearing about our struggles to recruit yet we try to run a scheme where for the most part we line up and play smash-mouth ball. This might have had a lot of success in the early days of the Belt (we won’t even go into the OOC results) but as the teams in the Belt have improved (or as we have dropped) the success has dropped. It’s still to be seen if this will bring success again. Maybe Dickeys right and all of the coaches installing the spread offenses are wrong????? PS – Before anyone comes back with “we are throwing the ball more” – is that a result of what we (DD) wants to do OR the fact that we have got behind in games so quickly?

Agreed Chris, while winning the Sun Belt would be great we need to focus on the La Tech game also. Finishing 2-3 in OOC should be the minimum accepted by this staff. A 1-4 OOC and a SBC title will only have more people complaining about the quality of the SBC – Especially if we do not win the Bowl Game.

Not the highest of goals to win a Conference whose teams are currently 7-22.

Football is not the only sport they look at.
