There are success and failure stories for all types of coaching styles. I think a lot has to deal with the situation the program is in. In our case we need someone who can come in with enthusiasm for the program and the University. We need someone who not only believes in himself but wants to be here (UNT) and believes that entertainment is a vital part of the game day experience.

As I sit and think about it after getting off the phone with a Michigan State grad and he’s beaming over the fact that his school is taking a step to improve their situation. Forget for a moment if we can, or can not afford to replace DD – why continue to support a coach who has never tried to build a good relationship with the fan base? Year after year he has gone out of the way to take verbal shots at the fan base and complain about the University. Then there are his (DD’s) team-building sessions where he tries to push the “Everyone (Fans) is against Us (UNT Football team)”. Then many come back and say how a “real fan” supports his/her team regardless of the situation. With all due respect I’m trying to understand why some people have such low expectations.
