Please hear me out - With all of the coverage Mac is getting he is basically getting a lot of free publicity. As he has even mentioned the money was spent 2 years ago. But now, for the same money he is getting a lot of publicity/advertisements.

My (hopefully) last comment on this (out of frustration) – Since Mac has made it clear that Dickey is his guy and therefore wants the field renamed. Can we call it- Mac’s Little Dickey Field

Rick, There are many of us who have been supporting you and have been glad to have you here. As much as it hurt to see the direction the football program was going you gave a new hope to many by making the call to go in a new direction – Thank you. Now this past week we’ve all heard many say we (UNT) have hand more success than we basically deserved – this does not hurt as much as piss-off most people. WE NOW HAVE A WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE THE WAY EVERYONE THINKS ABOUT THE MEAN GREEN With an open process to find the best candidate for the job – One that will unite the Mean green fan base you will have the chance to show all that you are the right leader at the right time. However, if all this becomes is another case of a “good-ole boy” hire it will continue to give the perception that North Texas athletics is not committed to building a successful foundation. Please, please, let this be legitimate search. Not only does the future of the Mean Green fans rest in your hands, I think this will be the hire that determines your legacy at North Texas. First, personal feelings aside – I, for the most part, agree Mac has the right to influence how the money is spent – If… Does anyone know if, at the time of the donation/pledge, Mac stipulated that the money was contingent on DD being here? If there were no conditions put on the money, and in good faith, UNT went ahead with the field I think Mac is wrong to threaten to give the money to another part of the University. Does he have the right to request a name change – yes? But to threaten to pull the money from athletics, if there were no pre-set conditions. Of course this is only my opinion, and as Mac said in his video – were all entitled to our own opinions.

Now I could be wrong here, but you think Good Ole Mac would like to see the Athletic Department and the Music Department fighting over the $Million Dollars$ do you? Then again what could I be thinking, Mac only cares about his University (yes, a great amount of sarcasm was intended)

The question this raises is MM support one of the things that somehow made DD think he could not be touched? Could this belief that the powers at UNT would not take jeopardize Mac’s money have keep Dickey complacent? If he had been more worried about his job might we have been seeing a little more creativity (Green Team) and openness towards the fans? Another Question – At what point does this whole situation hurt DD in future opportunities? Are other AD's going to think twice??
