We have a HC who is too inexperienced to know how and make a change once the season started. Starting to think his inexperience played too big of a role in him not hiring experienced, qualified coaches. -

At this point, we know what Caponi brings. Morris will not get rid of him during the season, but if he is still here after the season, then Morris needs to go. -

I doubt it. I think the answer would be yes if Morris were more experienced and confident in who he surrounds himself. Morris is an Offensive side-of-the-ball coach. He needs to bring in a high-level DC and let him run the show on that side of the ball. -
If wearing alternative uniforms is what it takes to motivate these players, we have the wrong players and coaches. The Mean Green on National TV, and we wear freaking black. What a waste.

If we had UTEP's defense, we would be at least 4-1 with our offense. -
The NCAA recently made unlimited yearly signings if you don't exceed 85 permanent. If Morris chose, he could clean house as much as he wanted.

"We need to take a holistic approach." Please don't get me wrong - I want Morris to succeed because I care about UNT. I have been following the team since the 80s, and I will proudly wear the Green as long as I can. We are a textbook case study on how you get the same results when you do the same thing repeatedly.

Can Morris adjust? Time will tell; however, the history of the Mike Leach coaches shows no evidence it will. I hope he can. I'm not sure how the rest of this season will play out, but the first milestone that will let us know is the transfer portal. If he is not all-in on upgrading the talent via portal additions, I believe we will have the message loud and clear.

Air Raid head coach mentality. As I've asked before please show me one coach from the Mac Leach tree that has ever emphasized defense. Look at USC some of the greatest offensive talent in football and they barely win games because their defense is so poor. I guess that's one thing we will have to live with with an air raid coach from the leech tree just that mentality that defense is not important. I fear we will see no change in Morris's thinking. Hopefully I am wrong and we'll see a difference quickly in our recruiting strategy but I would not count on it. I think the transfer portal will come and go and once again we will not emphasize defense but trust me he will get a lot of wide receivers
-
If you look at their experience level we overpaid a lot of our assistants (especially our coordinators) and then I also believe he lowballed coach Cobbs because he knew he wanted to stay here

I don't so much mind the young up and comer but in hindsight it's like the Dodge hire all over again. We got the young offensive minded coach and let him bring in coordinators on both sides of ball that had no college football experience at that position -

We're paying way too much damn money for on the job training. This is just magnified by the fact that his offensive or defensive coordinators either have any experience at the position. Looking back at it now it almost seems that he does not have enough confidence in himself to surround himself with more experience coaches. With each week that goes by I really wonder how he sold himself to Jared. Either he did a really good job or Jared didn't know what he was looking for.- 327 replies

Program record 8 sacks for Navy. So damn tired of UNT making other teams look great. This team was 1-3. Let the excuses begin -

It's almost like our head coach knows that it doesn't work but feels he's smarter than anyone else and knows what we should be running. PS Show me an example of an Mike Leach Air raid coach who truly emphasizes defense. Not sure any exist. -
