  1. These moves really highlight the difference in the money in the power conferences versus the G5 levels
  2. I would say welcoming back someone who had previously transferred should be on a player-by-player case. How/why did they leave and how did they go about it? What comments did they make when they left?
  3. I believe the reason the G5 was added was due to threats of lawsuits if they were "blocked." I can't remember the details; maybe someone else can.
  4. He is from the Dallas area. I hope this works out for the Miners https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-utep-to-hire-scotty-walden-as-head-coach
  5. Today's Devils Advocate/ Conspiracy Theory take - The "committee" chose Liberty over SMU because they believe they will be less competitive than SMU, and with changes coming to the playoffs, they are looking for a justification to leave out G5's 👽
  6. IMO, it's not a bad list. I think Tech might be a little high Texas SMU A&M UTSA Tech Texas State Rice TCU UNT Houston Baylor Sam Houston UTEP **Note: Teams are measured against the overall strength of their conference
  7. No, they should not. We have run into the same problem where P5s will not come to Denton, and I am glad we no longer have to play "money" games. Does it make a difference for G5s to schedule P5s and try to strengthen the schedules, or are victories the most important?
  8. If the end game is to win as many games as possible with the quality of victories not seeming as important, should G5 Schools schedule as easy as possible out of conference games?
  9. Since scholarships are year to year they could just tell the player they're not planning on renewing. However it's more likely they let the player know that their plans are not including them and they urge them to look elsewhere for another opportunity. Then again if they take Deion's approach they just tell the player you're cut, clear out your locker
  10. I would like to have him with the Mean Green. I believe he has already picked up an offer from Tech.
  11. If SMU beats Tulane will this happen or with the powers-that-be jump SMU over Liberty? While I would like to see the American get the G5 team in, can't find myself pulling for SMU.
  12. It's amazing the number of people on here that when you try and credit someone want to as quick as possible find something to go back after that person. Right or wrong guys we had the worst defense in college football. Honestly it does not look like Morris will make a change ( whether that is out of his true belief, arrogance, or his inexperience, only time will tell) and if he doesn't I will be frustrated but I will support him because I support the Mean Green. We have to all realize as long as we have an air raid mentality coach defense will most likely not be a priority.
  13. Disclosure - I signed up for it as soon as I saw it. I don't think they're complaining about that at all. I think the point is on this site, and many others, people link stories and when you click it is behind a paywall. If you're going to do that so be it, but at least in your link description explain that it's a pay site before people click on it.
  14. This could basically be said for every G5 program. Even at the FPS level many of the stars from the highest ranked teams are transferring out. Not saying it's right or wrong but money has taken over the game and players will move for the chance to make money regardless to whether or not they will get playing time. Combine n i l with transfer rules that are a joke( how many players are on their third or fourth School without ever having to sit out). While it is hard to put rules in place to control an NIL money they need to look at the transfers. In my opinion players should get one free transfer whether it is as a undergraduate or a graduate. It will also be nice when these covid exception years run out. Seems like every team has sixth or 7th year players on their squad.
  15. 😈 Not to rain on your parade, but Kennesaw State University joins FBS next year, so we could still drop another spot. 😇
  16. Random UNT fan: our defense is terrible we need to change everything and get rid of everybody A defensive player hits the portal and some of these same people are complaining that oh my goodness we're losing a defensive player
  17. In some of these cases it seems like after the end of year sit down talk with their coaches they're hitting the portal
  18. I agree players are doing what they think is best for themselves and while I may not like it I do not blame them. But at the same time players and fans should not be surprised when fans treat players like commodities and have no loyalties and feel more than free to show unhappiness with their play and comment about it
  19. Not sure how you got that. Mainly I'm not going to concern myself with someone who no longer cares about my University once they leave. But if you need to feel warm and fuzzy go ahead. You're probably one of those who when their girlfriend broke up with them you still let them have the tickets to the concert you bought so they could take their new boyfriend
  20. With the numbers this system has put up I do not believe it would be hard to go to the portal to find a quality quarterback
  21. I agree but I also when I've left the company I don't expect those at the company I left to still be cheering for me. I don't blame him for what he does, but my ties to these players is they were playing for North Texas. Once they leave I'm not going to wish them bad luck but I'm also not going to wish them luck
  22. Would like to know the a-hole that downvoted a commitment.
  23. It will be very interesting to see how Morris handles this replacement. Maybe a coach who can bring along a player or two.
  24. Per ESPN - Littrell, who played fullback on Oklahoma's 2000 national title team, likely would take the lead coordinator role as the Sooners replace Jeff Lebby, who left to become Mississippi State's head coach earlier this week. Finley, a former Sooners tight end who spent time with three NFL teams, has been at his alma mater since 2021. He's the team's associate head coach for offense in addition to working with the tight ends and H-backs.
