I would love to see the G5s form an alliance and then hire Aresco to be the commissioner. Have a minimum amount that a P4 must pay to host a G5 if there is no guaranteed return game at the G5. The problem is that you will have many schools who will cower to the Power schools because they depend on their preseason games to cover their budgets (think MAC). You will also have other schools who continue to do anything the P4s want because they hope to move up (Memphis and USF come to mind).

Great point. Based on his accomplishments and the era, he was a great college player. -

I am thankful they are trying to do more things like this. Sadly, the one thing you can count on, just like with UNT gear, there will be those that no matter what they produce will complain about it. -
This seems to be the issue for most G5 schools. Managing the turnover/defections is the new challenge for the coaches. If you do well, the reward is that P4 schools will come in and pay your players to join them. For UNT, there seems to be high confidence that we will have a potent offense. Concern for me is that we have a complete turnover in the QB room, and our QB1 (transfer from TCU) has a history of injuries, and we have no experience behind him. The question after last season's disaster on the Defensive side of the ball is, what are we in for this year? Our defense was terrible last year, and there were a lot of players brought in, but outside the eternal preseason hope, I have no clue how they will play.

This is one of the very rare boards that "hides" the voter's information. I asked the question a while back and was answered that there was a concern that some people might not participate if it was known, and this would potentially impact "clicks."

This is why you should support the school more than the individual players. I'm to the point now where I would be OK with no names on the backs of the jerseys; identify them by their numbers.

I wish him well, but I wonder if he might have been considered for another position.

He played at four schools before he came here and had very little playing time. Curious addition.

OU In Financial Trouble
El Paso Eagle replied to LongJim's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
One thing to remember is that many of the "Power" schools live basically paycheck-to-paycheck. When COVID hit, I remember hearing stories of how many programs had to immediately take out loans to cover their expenses. I'm not sure how things will get better anytime soon if you're not one of the "upper crust" Power schools. -

What is becoming a more relevant question these days - will he transfer more or less than three times? -

Just out of curiosity, when did it become common for receivers to wear the "sticky" gloves? The 80's? -
