D-1 Council Recommends UNLIMITED Transfers?
El Paso Eagle replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
People can get pissed at the NCAA, but this is on the College Presidents. They need to stop acting like they give a crap about the athletes getting an education. They could reign this in immediately. Plays could now go to four schools in four years. How can they get a degree? If a player transfers as an undergrad more than once how are they able to be somewhere long enough to get a degree? As far As I know, they do not let you get a degree if you are there only a year. -

I believe in the P5 conference they are guaranteed unless you violate certain rules -

You can take one person's view and try to make it sound like every conservative, but if someone does the same on a liberal viewpoint you blast them. In the jadded world that your mind exist in has a conservative ever done anything right? You really do believe you know more and have all the answers. What a freaking joke. -
@UNTLifer Should we have the "potential"? Yes. But we have been hearing fr 40 years about how many alums' we have, yet they are not watching or attending. There's an old sayinging about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. We need to make winning the number one priority. The average fans are tired of hearing about potential and the sleeping giant. Prove that winning is the cornerstone of your football program and then you can start tapping the "lost" alums.

Sadly, many do not care about UNT sports. A lot of our alumni are big time college football fans but have no faith that winning has been important to the University and Athletic leadership. Get pissed all you want and try and justify it, but with this many alums' so close to the school and to year after year have the attendance issues the issue is systemic and has still not been addressed. A lot of people want the school they support to take steps to make winning a priority.

But it also allows you to take action if they are not performing or they do bring politics into their workplace. If you review it's also not all levels it's only certain levels that have decision-making responsibilities -

I would have to go back and look but I know north of 30% overall and if you look at it as it trickles down to G5 players it's even higher. I will see if I can find the article I read -

What amazes me is that there is so much talk every year about how many kids enter the portal and never get picked up. And now they want to let you transform more times? It is almost if they're trying to completely destroy college football so they can have an excuse to restructure it to something different and more professional -
Several of the p5s are already talking about changing the rule to go up to at least 95 scholarships. If you take this across the P5 and even 40 of the schools decide they can do that you're talking another 400 players taken off the board. For everyone that keeps thinking that G5 is in the same division as P5 at some point the reality has to step in.

@Harryand Mods. Can we please start moving the SMU threads to another location? At first it was sort of funny but now it's getting ridiculous that almost everything on the North Texas football thread is about SMU. Some of you people need to get over it or just sign on to the SMU board.

From what I remember, and explanations vary to the extremes on which side is reporting, it's stated goal was to make it easier to fire certain Federal Employees. The Left says it is terrible because it allows you to get rid of employees for no reason, while the Right says it allows you to get rid of poor performers who are currently very hard to fire. -

NCAA proposes Transfer Portal windows
El Paso Eagle replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
The P5's would be able to restock with the best Lower PF and G5 players every year. Seems like a step to put in place if the Mega Conferences are planning on splitting and telling the NCAA here is our list of demands if you want us to be a part of the NCAA. Also, seems the upper P5's are also throwing around an increase from 85 to at least 95 scholarship players and UNLIMITED coaches and assistants. -

Not that they would, but the Coaches' associations should expel any member who contacts a player illegally (directly or indirectly). The lack of ethics in college sports from Coaches to players to AD offices, and School presidents is sickening. -

As a conservative walking away from a liberal situation he will be blasted. If he were a liberal walking away from a conservative situation, he would be hailed a brave and courageous hero.- 4 replies
