Trying to listen to these games is almost unbearable. Announcers no longer even try to hide their biases. Lord help if it's a power conference school playing a group of five school and now it's almost as bad if you're an ACC or Big 12 school playing at SEC school or Big10. The pieces of crap doing the Texas Arizona game actually just gave Texas coach Steve sarkisian the credit as a play he would design for a play Arizona ran. Did not even mention the offensive coordinator that designed it for Arizona until the next play.

Transfer Portal Entries After The Bowl Game
El Paso Eagle replied to MeanGreen2024's topic in Mean Green Football
Also a very good chance that they nor other players let the fact that they are in the portal or not impact their communication through third parties with other schools. -
I'm sure that's what he did 🤣

JayDees list of Recruits and Signings
El Paso Eagle replied to Tommy Gadberry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I agree but it seems like more and more unless they're four stars and five stars these ratings are meaningless. It's a subjective call by a person in that area and as far as I know I've never seen a set criteria how they rank them. -
Breaking: Cash McCollum Enters Portal
El Paso Eagle replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
I always wonder in a case where your backup quarterback has so very little experience how much you practice time he's getting with the team. I guess we'll find out soon how close he is to being ready now that he's been getting more practice. -
Breaking: Cash McCollum Enters Portal

By all means let's not give any credit to Mestemaker. -
Don't know enough about the man to make a comment. Hopefully the AD picked a winner.

So have you guys actually looked into it when you say cost savings; so we're paying him less than the previous coach? Did you take time to check it before you said we were cost saving?Did you look into this coach and his background, or is it typical of so many on here that we're just complaining to complain?

Valid point that will have to be weighed against the level of coaching and the facilities available to develop them at the juco. They will not have the same level of fitness training and access to nutrition programs. But I believe you're correct in that sum will take that route to try and develop themselves.

What makes this even more difficult to project is the next portal window (April 16–25, 2025), when Power conference schools go all out to poach the G6 talent they need to fill their backup spots.

As long as Coach Prime is there, he will continue to recruit top 10 QBs, so that's a great point about going to most likely be a backup.

I absolutely hate the thought that players who went to junior colleges will now most likely not have that eligibility count against them or at least take part of it, but I also believe as screwed up as the NCAA is, they won't be able to challenge this at this time. So, do any of our players have potential remaining eligibility? Are there any additional players, for example, from Sam Houston, that the coaches coming over could try to bring in that had Juco experience? I would also expect NAIA players to jump on this bandwagon quickly.

In some cases, it is very obvious who is at "fault", while at other times, there is plenty of blame to spread around. I do enjoy your fallback of corporate greed when it seems pretty amazing that whenever a corporation or industry is suffering severely and losing money most people don't seem as concerned. If you favor corporations sharing their profits(And I'm not saying that's wrong I'm in agreement with it), Do you also believe that those employees should take pay cuts when the corporations are not doing well and losing money? Or is it only a one-way street? So yes, many of the institutions are greedy as hell and have screwed this up, but we have also come up with a way of acting like the value of a scholarship and a free education and all of the perks athletes get should somehow not be considered in the way they are compensated. This entire situation is screwed up between the NCAA, players, and the court systems that got involved. But we also have the game to where we're calling this profit sharing which is just about as much of sharing profit as in IL was about name image and likeness when it was actually about pay to play. I agree there's a lot that can be done, but please explain to me how you have profit sharing when the majority of the institutions are probably losing money, especially if you take away the mandated student fees.

Portal Commit Tracker Thread 12/21
El Paso Eagle replied to GMG24's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Is this binding for any specific period of time, or could they still go elsewhere until they start classes? -
How sad that due to the NIL and transfer portal, we cannot truly enjoy signing a young man who has just had an incredible season. Most assume that if he comes in and does well, he will be gone before he has even dressed out for his first practice. Sorry, but not sure how beneficial it is to recruit HS QBs anymore and spend the time developing them.

So very true. I guess they use the same financial model as the WNBA. At least in "professional" sports they have salary control and caps. I am not faulting the players, but at some point, all sides are going to have to try and find a solution, or I don't see how many programs continue with football.

Morris Announces Defensive Staff Hires
El Paso Eagle replied to Mean Green Newz's topic in Mean Green Football
Perhaps this comes as a surprise to you but coaches have been preparing for bowl games and recruiting for many years. Personally have no problem with the defensive staff at Sam Houston staying for the school's first bowl game even though many of them knew they were already coming here. -

You do realize Cassity has been in town working with the team and just went back to coach the bowl game.
