I'm gonna disagree and ask you about that O-Line. It's their responsibility to hold the holes for him to run through. I don't know about you, but if the back can't find a hole to get through and if the line can't hold the D long enough for the guy to get off-tackle, then what should he do then? Wait, he should run away from them, just like you said. And if you can't go to the sides or up the middle, then run backwards, right?

Hahahaha...no. I remember I was in California the weekend of the PS2 release. Walking through the malls that following week, you'd see shady looking-asian guys (similar to me, but more shady) standing in alcoves holding PS2 boxes, selling them for like, $700 or something. If anything, I'm grabbing a Wii since it's a lot less expensive and I liked what the stylus did for the DS...so I'm sure the motion/location sensitive Wii controller will be a hit, too. There's only so far a big graphics-hog machine can offer before you realize you're still using a conventional controller. Then, I'm getting a PS3 sometime early in 2008.

They can certainly use the money.

Where are the students? Somewhere else that's better and more entertaining than a losing game in the bloody cold, that's where. You want students to support the team? You need to give them a reason to support the team. Not everyone is a hardcore fan, but in order to become a hardcore fan, you have to start out a fairweather fan first. If I'm a first-year student, I wouldn't show up to some of these games either, especially when it's as cold as it is, and when the team's been coughing up games they should be winning. I don't blame them. What does the school need to do? The solution isn't just promotion, because in reality, a promotion is worthless unless the product is worthwhile, and lately, it's easy to see the football team as an unworthy product. The university needs to improve the program, and that will put butts back in seats. Period.

Going through the news outlets to put out info also means you have to go through their filter. If RV has something to say, he knows he can post it here without any initial changes. Interpretations will follow, but you know the initial post isn't edited. And, I still don't know why a USM fan would care, or at least, crap bricks over the fact RV posted on the board. See, I understand that you'd be concerned about the possible loss of a USM coach. You're free to rant and rave about that, regardless of what RV says. But to have a stroke over the fact RV skipped traditional media outlets is pretty backwards. It's a new age of high-speed communications that allow for direct contact between source and target with little-to-no middleman. Keep up, kid.

What the heck does it matter to you? If RV chooses the wrong coach, UNT suffers for it, not you. If RV says something stupid here (which will probably never happen), UNT suffers for it, not you. So like I said... What the heck does it matter to you? I'm glad our AD cares enough to do so, even if it's just to clear up some stink.

Just stick to your committment to the university and the improvement of its athletic programs. You haven't gone wrong with any of your previous major choices, and we love what you've done for our university. We have faith in you, Rick.

It was a thriller, no doubt about that. I was just irked by seeing that replay confirm what I thought I saw... Which was basically the UTA player's feet still on the floor as the goallights turn on and signal end of the game. The officiating was so bad last night, I started yelling "Alamo Bowl" because it was just that bad. I am glad to hear our guys didn't like that loss and took a lot of personal responsibility for it. Just come back in force and play a clean game and they'll be okay next game.

I bank our guys.

If RV wanted Dickey out that badly, we'd already have a different coach. But my guess is that RV wanted to give him another shot... Since Dickey's first 3 years were spent rebuilding the program, he got cut a break from the old AD and from RV. Then, DD posted the SBC championship seasons, but also failed to produce in OOC games, including games that many believe should have been won. Last year, Dickey went 2-9, so RV figured that every coach gets a season to stumble. This season, Dickey looks to have just plain fallen over. The way the LaTech game went was evident of this, as that game as well as most games this season should have been wins. And for RV's rep as athletic director--- He's done a lot here. He's brought tailgating back in force, he's got pregame events going, the giant pep rallies on Fridays before home games, there's promotions for every sport now, as well as new facilities for the football team, women's soccer, softball, and volleyball. He's helped clean up the OOC schedule with games against teams we can actually have a chance winning against, and along with Dr Pohl, RV's changed the feel of the university as a whole. Do you even know how it was in the Helwig era? All I caught was the tail-end of it, and that alone was just plain ugly.

Give Dickey the practice fields, if Mac's gonna pay extra cash, then let him. Though to be perfectly honest, just money of any sort to the university in general is a good thing by my book.
