If we're cherrypicking IAA schools like App.State, then I support that.

Wow, I think SD's lost it by letting Simon go. Think our man RV would give him a call and offer him a position?

Assuming The Deloach Deal Is Done
meangreendork replied to greenminer's topic in Mean Green Football
I would hope so. -
I remember- I voted for both since I really wanted a Rec and because the open gym facilities at the time were SO horribly under what the school needed. A fee jump by a few bucks per credit hour should make things move along a little faster, especially since UNT seems to be growing and the demographics of UNT are also becoming more broad.

A lot of the defense had flashes of greatness last season, but it just had to be put together. I think DeLoach is the guy to do that.
-
And bring back Craig Jones, and Jonas Buckles...
-
Hope this is for real.

If one of his guys vouches for him, then I want DeLoach, too. I mean, not that I don't want him hired anyways.

Vito: Ut Sources Say Mcduff Not A Candidate At For Unt Job
meangreendork replied to NTPhiKap99's topic in Mean Green Football
I really want DeLoach back. When they announce his hire, they can run a highlight vid of the sacks, INTs, safeties and big hits his "Green Curtain" made....just in case some of those in attendance aren't familiar with his work. -
Awesome.

Larry Mac Duff Will Be Nt's Next Dc
meangreendork replied to SouthBendGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I want DeLoach as well. He's proven that he works well here, and if he can handle Dickey, I'm sure that he'll be fine with Dodge. I think the work hard/fight hard ethic will bring them together. -
I didn't see the connection either. Mafia-run "waste disposal companies" shouldering out legitimate companies resulting in an environmental disaster... ...Environmentalists against power plants and oil refineries... ...I don't see the connection. Besides, the environmentalists may have a case for their argument, depending on the location of a given refinery or plant. That's my being neutral on this because we do have a power/energy shortage. It's an argument against organized crime, that's what this case is. The dumps are topped off, people are burning trash in the streets, and I don't even want to know what this situation will result in given a few more years. It's been what...2 years, at least, since this became a problem?

Obama said he'd send the military into Pakistan if the intelligence were right. He also said that'd not go in unilaterally, and work with Musharraf. That is, after he backtracked on an earlier comment on acting on intelligence in Pakistan if Musharraf won't. Mind you, I'm still leaning towards Obama and Paul. Huckabee freaks me out, so does Hillary, and so does "911" Giuliani.

That doesn't mean any slowdown in the economy is something to laugh at. Right now, it's hard to believe that our economy is secure when the dollar is taking a serious hit overseas, inflation in the states compounding that problem, and a 5% unemployment rate in December. Sure, that 5% is only a big number when you look at the last few years, but say that to the people in that 5%. I'm sure they don't mind. I won't go into the current trend of deficit spending...it's like watching a teenager with a new credit card. Clinton did well with the budget, and managed to create a surplus. Too bad he nearly crippled the intelligence community and dealt a blow to the military. Isn't there some sort of way to have a sound economy, a balanced budget, and do well in foreign relations and military/intelligence? The new president has a list of ailments to at least try to cure- failing national infrastructure, health care, overstretched military, energy problems, the downward value of the dollar, education...there's a great deal more, and that's just within our own borders.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7168686.stm I heard more about this on NPR, and apparently, the Camorra (read, Mafia), runs the garbage disposal industry in Naples and they're to blame for this whole problem. The Camorra-run disposal companies are given trash/waste (normal and industrial) that they'll dispose at cut-rate prices, but in reality, ends up dumped and buried, or burned...and in illegal and not-so eco-friendly ways. This muscles out legitimate disposal companies...and as for new dumps and incinerators, well, the land eyeballed for that is bought up by the mafia. WOW. WOW.

Who Should Td Hire As The Next Defensive Coordinator
meangreendork replied to Eagle-96's topic in Mean Green Football
I remember hearing about MacDuff just around the time the resignation rumors started to fly. He's got a good resume and good ties to Texas as well as a few other states. He'd be a great pickup if he's not bothered by the culture here. DeLoach would be a great hire. The fans would (assuming it's publicized right) love the return of the coach of the Green Curtain defense, and I think the players would follow a guy like this to the ends of the earth. I could use another game that breaks or ties the NCAA records for safeties. But you know, don't get my heart all worked up if he's not gonna interview -
Dodge Announces Defensive Staff Change
meangreendork replied to Smitty's topic in Mean Green Football
That had to have been a tough thing for both coaches to handle- best of future luck for RM and TD. -
Petition/campaign To Get On The Fathead List
meangreendork replied to Bryan316's topic in Mean Green Football
I'd like this. Even if we'd have to pay a bit extra, knowing I can tack a giant diving eagle on my wall is a good feeling. -
Sounds about right. Whomever handles the licensing is really dropping the ball, and this is a good time to take that ball and run it since UNT has a lot of eyes on it these days.

And Here's What Is Wrong With College Football Today
meangreendork replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Football
The shared payout is a good idea in theory- say, if FAU and Troy went to two big bowls and got a massive payoff. If some of that money went to FIU and the rest of the SBC, that'd help everyone be more competitive. However, the BigXII isn't really in that situation anymore since it doesn't appear that any school in that conference is short on athletics funding. What really irks me is how Notre Dame somehow gets ranked every preseason. That's what irks me. It's one thing if OU, or Ohio State or the usual powerhouses get ranked, but not Notre Dame. -
That's based upon a statement of your own faith, which is something that not everyone shares. I don't believe that a public school is the place to convert youth to Christianity. Same as the way no one would want their tax dollars to teach about Islam or Buddhism (outside of teaching in historical contexts), there's no reason that Christianity should be in schools. There's no problem in criticizing intelligent design, same way that there's nothing wrong with taking a stab at evolution. To those that don't subscribe to any particular faith, or those that subscribe to one that doesn't involve a variation of intelligent design, they're both theories and should be treated that way. And yes, that means evolution still has holes in it and still requires research, just like any other theory.

Possibly. I don't think wrestling teams have big rosters...probably smaller than the tennis/golf rosters.
