  1. In comparison to everyone that plays football between high school and professional football, then, yeah. But even within any sport, the best athletes are typically the ones that operate at the outer edge of the statistics.
  2. Well, there was that one year our D kept it close - 37-10 or something at UT. It was a Booger Kennedy year, 7 sacks or something like that.
  3. Not as fast as their DBs are, no. Any more and it becomes risky.
  4. From the LA Times: Article Here http://www.latimes.com/sports/printedition...0,5717875.story ----- It's hard to imagine 82-0 in a football game where you can rack up 6-8 points in the course of a touchdown. But in hockey? That's insane.
  5. Well, you'll see that in many cases, more yards also means more interceptions, especially in college ball. It's a positive relationship in risk/reward, basically.
  6. I would dare you to tell that to this guy, but I think we already know what part of your body your left fibula would end up in. PS: I also find it funny how much junk this guy has attached to the RIS on his rifle. But hey, with arms like that, it's not like the weight will make a difference.
  7. I saw some glimmers of some very great things on Saturday - on both sides of the ball. I think it's a matter of getting consistency AND preventing mistakes and pointless penalties.
  8. I say we do make TD accountable. But I also say we give him more time. It takes more than 1 year to show improvement with a team stacked full of vets. It'll take more than that with a team that's bringing into, and pushing to the frontlines a lot of rookies. It's going to take time. But 4 years, no.
  9. Yeah, it was the mic. I think the PA wiring in Fouts is in poor, poor shape.
  10. Putting in Riley at WR can probably only be debated if we know the 40-times of every guy at WR and we can level the field and then quantitatively measure their receiving stats. Honestly, Riley is one of the 5 fastest guys on the roster. He probably has some of the best hands on the team, too.
  11. That's fine. People did that before the big SBC/NOBowl run and it worked out. Again, skilled vets vs. young players...you tell me who has the advantage. I saw some good defensive plays - sacks, defensive pressure, and some good hits. I also saw the blown coverages and slipped tackles. Also saw good stuff on Offense too, but I also saw the bad. I still trust Dodge. This isn't like Dickey where he's had 6 years to get established and have multiple strong recruiting classes, then basically throws the last 2 years. This is someone who's just now STARTING their 2nd season.
  12. Tulsa isn't exactly a cakewalk team for anyone. Just to put this into perspective. So yeah. Besides, aside from Rice, the OOC schedule isn't anything close to guaranteed. Even the Rice game isn't a guaranteed win. We all know that.
  13. Wasn't it like 3 years before Dickey's "miracle" recruiting class kicked into gear and we started seeing the results in the multiple NOBowls and SBC rings? Even in schools that are already established, you don't often see the results of a recruiting class for a year or two.
  14. With you on this. Honestly, aside from the horrible officiating, and the missed/slipped tackles, the odds probably weren't in our favor from the beginning. I think that the coaching decisions were good. So yeah. Just wait on this, it'll be better.
  15. That's all fine and good, but at least we have a grasp on the English language. About the only thing you seem to have a grasp on is a bottle of moonshine and a chicken leg. But even that's high expectations for someone who's probably afraid of anything printed without pictures or with words with more than 2 syllables. This is all assuming you know what a syllable is, and that you know what a book is. Now, stop playing on your aged Apple II-E and go back to the fryers and flip hamburgers or whatever menial, mindless task you somehow shoe-horned your barely literate, under-educated, in-bred, .12 GPA, held-back in high-school 5 times, sad sack of humanity into. Because unlike you, we do love our football team no matter what (since you reek of fair-weather fan), and also unlike you, we're not basing our entire self-worth on it. Why? Because no matter what degree we finished with, we know we at least learned basic punctuation and used our degree for something more than a quick way into working the bagger's spot at the grocery store. You have fun with your substandard education.
  16. It's hard to get anything balanced without getting it from multiple sources. I tend to get most of mine from the WSJ, NYT, BBC, NPR and some other internet sources. I try to skip the media pundits. Well, except for this guy, and mainly because it's funny. And mainly because the pundits and spokespersons for many politicians should try to keep consistency. http://ccinsider.comedycentral.com/cc_insi...tewart-ann.html Some of this was accurate, though. http://www.adn.com/palin-background/ - Anchorage Daily News: Covers the "God's Task" line and the Wasilla Library/Book Banning Issues.
  17. I wanna get moved into the PAC-10 somehow. Mainly because I want into a superhuge conference, but I want nothing to do with the BIGXII and can't see how I'd be allowed into the ACC or BigEast.
  18. I was a student in the last year under Helwig, and the year both Pohl and RV came in. There was a palpable difference between Helwig and RV in just the first fall semester. And that was before I started showing up at FB and BB games.
  19. I'm at my 2012 season already. 2009: Scheduled a bunch of WAC teams in my OOC schedule. Got my SBC ring, then got added to the WAC. Utah State got kicked out of the WAC. 2010: WAC title. Won some random bowl game. Got ranked in the Top 10. 2011: WAC title. Scheduled some ranked teams, then also went lossless in WAC play. Somehow, all other traditional powerhouses messed up in conference play, so the NCF champ game was between me and UNC. Got the title from that game. Got Dodge and Dunbar in running for Heisman and a bunch of other awards. I'm playing it at Varsity and I'm thinking about upping to All-American next.
  20. The worst of which seems to be how she bullies around law enforcement officers who won't do as she says, and how she took her little town of Wasilla about $20million into debt as the mayor. I think McCain should've found someone else.
  21. The Lyceum can't hold but a few hundred kids anyways. But I agree, DD's best thing for the public was football 101, and that was before the season started, and when it was "safe" to see the fans. I gotta give Dodge props for coming out in the open and still being as emotional about the program even now.
  22. Well, from a standpoint of not getting blown out, it's probably not a good idea to go for the home run since that tends to mean a higher turnover rate. I mean, even the most basic knowledge on football offense will tell you that you can't go deep all the time. Heck, even kids playing Madden will tell you that you can't go deep all the time, or you can't go for the trick play or option or whatever all the time.
  23. It's part of both candidates leaning to the center more. At this rate, the only thing separating them from each other is almost their VP choices. If it were me, I'd tell them both to drop their VPs and merge their campaigns. But hey, I'm a moderate, so what do I know?
  24. It's not as if all of Tulsa fans are model material either.
