  1. Wasn't there a ruling against this by the NCAA?
  2. That kid was a beast in his prime, so was the defense as a whole. Don't throw down the center, short, because our LBs would kill you. Don't run, because you'll hit a wall. Don't throw long because the DBs will snag that ball from you or light you up like a christmas ornament (ala the Jonas Buckles stun-shot).
  3. Dude, the guys at the Denton post office are actually pretty knowledgeable. I don't know who you see for your post office questions, but these guys are generally awesome. There's two kinds of socialism here. You have the police/fire/armed forces/libraries/public universities like our University of North Texas kind of socialism. And then you have the der komissar/shoot you to death as you cross the wire fence/KGB/komrade Stolichczny kind of socialism. Last I checked, we have the first, and it's pretty limited to just that kind of socialism. No one is coming to my apartment asking me questions about things my neighbors have said about the current administration. I'm not being interrogated for fraternizing with the west. I think we're okay.
  4. I won't even go into the fact that the article is basically editorial. Sure, there's a stat behind it, but the interpretation is from a member of IPI, and as such, will get a spin on it.
  5. I want IPI's website design repealed. Hey Kram, 1995 called and it wants it's website design back.
  6. There's also this: WE CAN WIN THIS REVOLUTION BY OURSELVES! GO AWAY USA! F-U, EU! followed by: WE NEED A NO-FLY ZONE! read as: we want a no fly zone only, only to follow with: WE WANT A NO-FLY ZONE! WE WANT TACTICAL AIRSTRIKES! which of course, is always a precursor to demands for ground forces, and then with the arrival of ground forces, there will probably be: GO AWAY USA! F-U, EU! It's a catch-22 for UN/NATO nations.
  7. So basically, we need to tailor our football to defeat just one team in one conference once we dominate our own. That's about as logical as training to beat only one boxer in your league or developing a military to only fight specific threat from one specific country. You best be trollin', son.
  8. He made $90,000 from this and probably didn't ruin any lives in doing so. Was it really worth it?
  9. Yeah, but you need to make huge jumps in between the dots because apparently, logic doesn't apply around here.
  10. Nice cheapshot screen in the last few minutes, and the one midway through the last half, UALR. Good to know that you can't win without playing dirty, and even then, it's playing dirty and being lucky. TLDR/ UALR didn't earn it.
  11. I get that it can reduce costs in the long run a great deal, so I see how that works. But I also wonder if this is the right time for that. I don't think it's a great idea when DISD (which is problematic to begin with) is about to lay off teachers, increase class sizes, and make things generally more difficult for everyone involved. That said, I still think the real problem with education isn't the education system. I think the problem is mom and dad at home who see the student for far more time than the teacher ever will.
  12. So you want us to read 2 outwardly conservative blogs and then read the website from the International Centre for Islamic Information? What the hell are you smoking? Are you serious?
  13. Okay, so they are buying more gold and what a shock, much of our oil comes from the Middle East. Oh no, what another shock. What I don't get is your "the U.S. Dollar is third world" bit. Believe me, I know what third world currency is worth, and we're far from that. Then again, let's just keep trying to scare people, right?
  14. Some of you are totally on the ball. It's basically getting UNT representatives out into the area to get involved in their communities so that way, UNT becomes the college of choice for our nearby surrounding areas, then DFW, then Texas, then the US. It's hard to say "we're the University of North Texas" when a high percentage of DFW area college students end up going someplace else. It's not really about sports (though that helps, but because winning isn't always a sure thing), it's about making UNT a household name for the area, then the state. And for those of you who apparently live your life as a series of TL;DR based actions, you should probably stop. Also, this is a really poorly termed RFP. It is branding in that branding is a combo of an image and name and then experiences and impressions of the name and image, but it's more branding in the experiences associated with that name. To clarify - it's not branding as in "let's make a picture" and more about, "let's make UNT a household name." Too bad some of you don't get that. Pepsi does. Nike does. Nintendo does. Chevrolet does.
  15. I had a dream where our university didn't have a logo that looked just like one used by every other university in the USA and making it nearly impossible to distinguish us from anybody else, where didn't change logos every week, where our logo was designed by people who were actually trained to do that sort of work and had been doing it for a number of years, and the TN thing making people read our logo as "Texas Northern" instead of "North Texas." Oh wait, that wasn't a dream, that's every day of our branding history since the UNT rebrand.
  16. UPSETTING (POSSIBLY) NEWS! INFORMATION FROM UNNAMED ANALYST PREDICTS SOMETHING WE DON'T WANT! HERE'S A SLIGHTLY RELATED NOTE THAT MAY ALSO INDICATE WHAT WE THINK WILL (POSSIBLY) HAPPEN BASED ON INFORMATION FROM AN UNNAMED ANALYST!
  17. Not cool at all - lets you know the mixed bag that is currently Egypt's situation. Thankfully, she was aided by the military and sent on her way safely. I'm hoping that the new government that steps into place is an actual democratic one, and if not, at least stable and well liked by its own people and the global community.
  18. I get it, he was in rehab and made himself a better person, congrats. But people do that everyday and no one hands them the key to a city.
  19. I can't see any reason to give this guy the key to the city. Not one single reason. I mean, I appreciate what looks like him making himself a better man, but I'm a better man than I was 10 years ago and no one is giving me the keys to Denton much less Dallas.
  20. Yeah, pretty much. Our offense clicked well in most games last season, it was just the defense that made the odds of winning so slim. With expected improvements on both sides of the ball, we could have a great season on our hands.
  21. Haha...HAHAHAHAHAHA! Man, you are just outstanding. Both banks in this are international banks. The ICBC is based in HONG KONG. The Bank of East Asia is based in...HONG KONG. I don't see the "financial whores" thing here, I'm guessing you think it's US banks getting bought out, but that's not the case. But it could also be foreign banks coming into the US, but we've had those for years. Or it could be that they're Chinese and you have a problem with their banking services for some sort of reason. But in case you didn't notice, it's best to be business partners with another nation since you can make more money off of them that way.
  22. The WAC would be a very long fall down for us.
  23. Wow, I can't even fathom this one. A new name isn't worth anything if the product is still the same.
  24. That was definitely a great way to end the half, letting ArkState know who was in charge just in case the 20 point lead wasn't evidence enough.
