+1 It is a major part of our climate, as is the gradually changing/alternating orbit patterns of the planet. I'm not saying "alright, time to burn as much crap as we can," but it's a sign that climate patterns aren't so cut and dry as many on both sides think. You've got mass shifts like ice ages to look at, solar winds, planetary positioning, and a whole host of other things to factor. We probably won't figure it out for another 25 years, especially with so much editorial and opinion sticking its nose in the debate.

You and I typically disagree on politics and such, but the attempt at federal universal coverage was bad no matter who you are. I like the concept of it, but the US can't afford it. Too many people to cover, and then too many who would be way too expensive to cover due to really, really poor health. Really, universal coverage would be fine if we were a smaller country both in population and in geographic size. State universal coverage? Maybe. Federal? Way too expensive. Insurance reform starts with the insurance companies re-thinking their practices and pricing while the insured really think out their daily lives. Preventive care and being smarter about daily choices can really make an impact on healthcare expenditures. Plus, I don't mind my healthcare $ going to help you if you break an arm tumbling down the stands at Apogee. That's cool, accidents happen, go Mean Green. I would be kinda mad about it going to help someone who thinks a BigMac and XL soda is okay to eat at every meal.

Both the Terps and the Bulldogs uniforms look great. Not everyone wants their uniforms to look like they were designed in 1954. Here's hoping the teams perform well enough so that the new unis are more than just new clothes on iffy programs.

That's a big part of many fan-bases. SMU will probably never get the average-guy-fan because too much of its existing fan-base is anything but, and the university has the same reputation. If I'm average guy from Richardson with a $25,000 car, I might feel a bit out of place when a kid half my age has a car worth 3x as much and an outfit on worth 1/2 that.

I definitely agree. Fixing education is really an exercise in marketing, and a funny lesson in supply-side economics. The US has thrown a lot at the supply for education in the country, but the interest isn't there, and that interest is in the parents before it's in the kids. Motivate the parents, and they'll motivate the kids. Motivating the parents means increased demand, justifiable supply, and increased gains.

Not for the tape, but for the damage to university reputation. I mean, hey, you wanna make a tape in your free time, go for it. If you wanna publish it too, then whatever works. Just don't get it associated with the university. Basically, something potentially embarrassing (chuckle) crossing the lines from personal to professional/academic life and affecting it all. Besides, I think that happened in a similar case at Ariz State.

Slow your roll, kid. The old UA stuff has been cycled out, the newer Nike gear is still on its way in. They've got some of the loose hot weather gear and hats in place right now, more of it is on the way in. There's also a few new outfits offering NT gear that are sending their stuff as well.
