  1. I'm gonna. Besides, we can totally trust corporations to govern themselves. They totally did so below: "Denton police referred the case to the district attorney's office last week, spokesman Ryan Grelle said. They opened the investigation after city employees visited an Eagleridge well site in the 3100 block of Airport Road, about one mile west of the Bonnie Brae site, on Sept. 29 and found a pump forcing contaminated water into a tributary of Hickory Creek, according to a police report." Looks like UNT also some level of mineral rights claim to the area, and it's right across from Apogee. Interesting. But screw it man, those Occupy people showed up, so it doesn't matter that UNT might not be getting money it's owed, that these guys dumped junk into the water system, and that it's going to ugly up the area RIGHT by our gorgeous, brand new stadium.
  2. Way to read the article. But whatever, it's cool to drill on land that you don't have rights or permit to, have illegal dumping issues to solve, have someone drilling with the wrong permit, and laterally drill for that same gas under UNT property and then not hand off some of that money to the university, right?
  3. No. Throw Chico a raise or something. ASU was trouble enough last season as it is.
  4. You know what's messed up? Using a voting system to decide who is the best team in the country is to begin with.
  5. Provided that their new QB isn't nearly as good, yes. The receivers at Houston are sharp, but Keenum is what makes that team shine. Their defense wasn't really all that powerful against our team in the last meeting. Keep in mind that our team put up 23 points on them. UCLA put up 34. Here's my look on next season, provided all things being constant: 9/1 @ LSU :: Can we trade this for someone else in state, at home? Just not LSU, please. 9/8 VS. Texas Southern :: UNT by 21. 9/15 @ Kansas State :: Another "Can we trade this?" game. 10/5 @ Houston :: Uhm, this is hard to tell. If we win, it's close. N/A @ ULM :: I think we win this one by 14. N/A vs. Troy :: Another close one. UNT by 7. N/A @ WKU :: Close game. WKU really depends on Rainey and I didn't their backup do much at all this season. UNT by 7, if our passing D improves. N/A vs. FIU :: Hard to tell as well. FIU really depends on their star WR/QB duo. N/A @ MTSU :: Win, UNT by 14. MTSU looks like a train wreck and I don't know why they'd improve since no real changes are happening between now and 2012. N/A vs. ASU :: Oh man, I want this to be a win so badly, just like WKU and FIU. UNT by 7, or ASU by 14+. N/A @ FAU :: Schnelly is out, and barring the replacement being something like our Coach Mac or the newish WKU coach, it's still a UNT win, probably by 14. N/A vs. ULL :: Same situation as ASU and FIU. I want it to be a win, but I don't know right now. UNT by 7 or ULL by 14+. If things don't improve, we'll be 5-7 in 2012. If they do, expect 6-6 (minor improvements) to 8-4 (absolute best situation). At best, we go 2nd in the SBC, go to a bowl game. Which really, 5-7 is something I can live with, 6-6 is also okay, but I'd love to see 2nd or 3rd in the SBC and a bowl game, and hell, a win in a bowl game, too. Also, the home game outlook is pretty awful. I don't like how much of it is away until later on in the season, even if some of the hardest matches are at Apogee.
  6. No. The location is a "we're planning for the future" situation. Better to be ready for it now, than be hammered for it in 5 years. To be honest, there's really nowhere else it could go anyways.
  7. Look here, son. UNT was in the Big West before the SunBelt. Get your history straight. Furthermore, no one really cares about the WAC, and even fewer care about going back to a conference that UNT was never in to begin with. But hey, since you can singlehandedly fix everything, or seem to be the man with the answers, can you bribe enough people in the CUSA to get in their doors? Can you recruit 3 and 4 star players to bring in the doors here at UNT? No? Then shut the hell up. If UNT had kept dominating the SBC from 2003-2011, we probably would've had a stadium earlier because it'd be easier to justify the funding. That probably means better recruits would've come in the doors, and beating someone like Houston would be possible, as would beating Ohio, as would beating Navy and Army. Our conference isn't keeping the team down, the last 2 coaching administrations kept the team down. Can you really expect the CUSA to knock on door to add UNT when our team can't win the current conference? No. Shut your mouth, go to the games. You're frustrating not for being angry, but frustrating because you seem so incapable of grasping what's in front of you.
  8. 1. I haven't seen that fumble before. That ball was clearly out of his hands from the hit, on the grass, and and into our guy's hands, all before the back gets a knee down, which doesn't really happen until the back is pulled away from the ball. Our guys should've had that. 2. I'm not totally clear how possession rules might've changed since '88, but it looks like the UT guy does come down with it and gets two feet on the turf. But when fully lands, that ball pops right out. That's questionable right there. 3. Not even close. Right knee is out of the endzone. Left knee was on the line. Guy nails the pylon. I don't think he got that one at all. He landed out. That should not have counted.
  9. 1 season and we're 4-6 using recruits from the previous regime and playing a lot of new guys. It looks like everyone is buying to Mac's system and I'm really looking forward to next season as a result. I like that we're not saying "maybe we'll have some wins next season" and instead "how many can Coach Mac and his guys rack up?"
  10. Fo' real. Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, cuz they askin' dumb questions up in here. (If he's healthy, Dunbar. If not, Hamilton. What the hell kind of poll is this?)
  11. If that happened here, in 10 years or 20 with Coach Mac and one of his assistants being the role of Sandusky, I'd want them and anyone responsible tossed to the legal system. I don't care about wins or money, it's about what is or isn't legal and moral.
  12. All those schools had some ethics violations going on and more than a handful of NCAA regulations being violated too. But compared to things that are downright illegal and immoral, and them being covered up for decades? Those other issues don't even register on radar. PSU's reputation will be marred forever, and Joe Paterno won't be known as one of the best coaches in college football history, he'll be known as the man who covered for a pedophile and possible prostitution trafficker.
  13. Yeah. Apparently they care less about crimes against minors than they do about a football record. Priorities, right?
  14. "DEFEND THAT TIME CHANGE FANS?!"
  15. I don't see us falling out of the FBS set. We may not leave the SBC, but we won't fall out of the FBS if for no other reason than that the SBC isn't really changing or being projected to change much. Not as much as CUSA, MWC and WAC.
  16. This is actually worth complaining about. A 4 hour shift for a channel that few watch much less have access to, and moving it to noon? Yeah, that's a problem. But wait, "OHMYGOD, A TWO HOUR SHIFT, THEY NEED TO TAKE ME AND ONLY ME INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN THEY SCHEDULE GAMES BECAUSE I HAVE TO HAVE THE DECISION IN MY HANDS! DEFEND THAT VILLAREAL FANS??"
  17. Why do we care?
  18. You know what's screwed up? The fact that the U.S. needs a microlending program for small businesses in the first place, especially when banks were given money with the purpose of lending it back out, not for buying up t-bills and notes from the Federal Reserve.
  19. Book smarts =/= common sense.
  20. I think they need to do more fun stuff like this to sort of break that barrier. This was pretty awesome, especially because if you didn't know better, or failed your biology classes, you'd totally buy into it being for real.
  21. Because it's friggin' hilarious. If you catch the other press releases about this, they cleverly sneak mentions of better features on campus as well as encouraging students to get their EagleAlert info updated.
  22. Frankly, I don't care who lines up under center. I want to them to be successful, and if the best shot we have is Mcnulty, so be it. It's not like we vote on our starting QB.
  23. You'd think that these guys were hoping for a bowl sweep in one season or something. Those are probably the ones who saw UNT's SBC champ run and never noticed that the games got closer and closer because Dickey could never keep the talent gap between UNT and the rest of the belt going. They're more than likely the same ones who expected Dodge to blow out the belt in his first season with the same crew of players recruited by Dickey, which by that point, were behind in talent to begin with.
  24. Feel free to have this talk with Coach Mac.
  25. Looks like a whole lot of ship jumpers here. Coach Mac got a bad hand from Dodge. He's turning the same handful of guys into actual wins. Not close shaves, but wins, even if there are just a few. Going 3-6 with a possibility of going 6-6 is a great place to be considering that with Dodge, I think we never eclipsed more than 1 win per season, and our mentality was, "can we scrape up 2-10 this season?" Now it's, "I think we can hit 5-7 or 6-6!" That's enough proof. Back the coach, give him a season or two, and if he doesn't prove his worth, then feel free to dog him like we all dogged Dodge in year 3.
