  1. Wilson's got to be better than DM, unless DM somehow got a lot better between now and the ASU game. Frankly, we move Meager to DB and move Ieans to DB as well. At least we can make use of their height and size as safeties, maybe even at WR.
  2. That is truly funny. You'd think someone would check this sort of thing off...or something. If I'm the M-State coach, I'm telling the manager to bring Unis, then telling my players to pack the spare uni in their bags in case.
  3. I was REALLY disappointed with how USM couldn't get the ball rolling early on. I know they're the better team, but for most of the game, USM didn't really show it. I mean, our UNT team came out and went blow-for-blow with ASU, losing to a last-second Antonio Warren run. Our Offense wasnt anything fantastic this year, but they still put points on the board earlier than the USM offense did. Frankly, coming here to talk trash was warranted after last year's NO Bowl. This year, it's just uncalled for. AND. If ASU is that good, they can prove it by beating us 3 times consecutively.
  4. Can we just get all of that school's OL? They look like beasts, I swear. You know, while we're at it, let's just get all the folks we need from them and Kilgore this year.
  5. Just an FYI. The Denton Lidz (I think) is selling a new line of white hats. The UNT version is all white with a 50% grey full-body eagle (new logo) slightly off center, and I think it has 'North Texas" on the side. Very, very cool hat.
  6. Pardon my saying this, but Southern Miss needs to wake up. They're playing horribly...almost lazily. I don't want ASU to win.
  7. Maybe we need a change in coaching philosophy... Now that I think about it, there's been a slight change. This year, we had more passing than in the past, and the draw has been run a lot more as well. While I like the passing, running a draw/without a lead blocker has NOT been effective.
  8. DD needs to grab some star guys for the O/D lines. After looking back at some of our SBC games, the game would have been won had the D been a hair stronger. A lot of games in conference were lost by less than 10 points. A stronger defense and an offense that could at least make a drive last 3 or 4 plays longer (even it results in a punt) would give the D time to rest.
  9. I like how that sounds. Even after the bad season we had, kids still think we have a good running game. And that's because we still do.
  10. I still think the staff needs to give some of these 3 and 4-star players a look. You never know who'll like the atmosphere out here.
  11. YES.
  12. Funny how being sick locks you at home. Anyways, this is a very nice game here. These guys can wreak havoc in DIA football, they're THAT good.
  13. Those defenders really did foul up on those tackles, lots of arms, very little wrap up.
  14. Are you kidding me? Sweet pancakes, this kid is good. He's agile, he's fast, he's got great vision, he's got great balance, he's got the stop/starts of Barry Sanders and he breaks tackles very, very well. I mean, if his team is that much better than the rest, that would account for some of his success, but judging from the tape, this kid could wreak havoc on some college defenses as well. As for the opposition- that first man needs to learn to stop arm tackling and wrap the guy up. And the team they showed highlights from for the first minutes.......WOW, I bet they got blown the F out.
  15. No, I know what you mean. He's talented, but the scouts don't really pay attention to circumstances around a player's performance, which has me worried for PC's NFL prospects, even as FA.
  16. Yeah. McNabb's done a good job of letting slide off his back, but the national NAACP put the hammer down on this guy.
  17. This is taking it way too far. While Mondesire is right that Mcnabb was more productive as a scramble QB, by making it a race issue, it went too far. Furthermore, Mcnabb couldn't have run anyways with that sports hernia. Tacking on the statements about not giving money to his teammates was fairly messed up as well. article and Mondesire's full column.
  18. -->Wilson looks very, very impressive. His speed and knowing he was succesful as a QB in JC football already make him look like he's got DM's footwork and the type of composure we saw in MP. From the article, I like his attitude and that he sees that our O can do alot with the right man at QB. [+] +His offensive numbers- 900 and 200+ in just six games. +JUCO experience +Speed and passing ability in an environment that isn't high school level +Height +Existing WR corps at NT (JQ/BJ) gives him lots to play with that our current QBs had trouble making use of. [-] -He's 185. If he gets planted wrong by a big enough guy, it may injure him. But then, here's where the OL's blocking comes into play. I like this guy, let's not lose him. --> Brian Carlson looks like he can really help at TE, and he's as big as some of our linemen to boot. I also like how he said he likes our facilities...I think that excuse is now officially NULL. (Not that it wasn't before) Still left to take care of on our recruiting needs: -OL/DL
  19. Woody Wilson's fast, at least. If he can throw a pass (which I'm sure he can, since he's 8TD/2INT), then he's our man. Just as long as the team doesn't lose him.
  20. You know, if the D would stop a drive and if DM would actually throw more catchable balls, JQ wouldn't be in the position where he'd feel a need to do something like that to save the game. And heck, even if he didn't fumble, odd are that the subsequent offensive drive wouldn't make it.
  21. With a little work, you can rig a PC to run PS2/Xbox games as well. There's a guy I know who has his Xbox rigged to his PC and has piles of old games running on it. I've got the NES/SNES emulators on my PC, and with an actual gamepad, they play great.
  22. The Revolution is a definite 'buy'. The other 2, the 360/PS3 are 40/60 I'm not really impressed by anything MS has put out yet, and the PS3 hasn't even been released. However, the PS3 has franchises I already know and the companies who produce them. It's still too early to tell. The Revolution will be interesting, even without the emulator option. I'm already very impressed with the capabilities the DS touchpad has offered, so I really want to see how the Revolution's gyro/point-aim controller works. It looks like it'll add a whole slew of gameplay options you'd sacrifice buttons for on a normal controller. Here's a nice bit of info: the DS is outselling the PSP in Asia and Europe. And, on Ebay, the most expensive DS package is the Hot Pink w/ Nintendogs package. Looks like Nintendo's goal to bring in the non-gamer is working wonders.
  23. "Sony to take $100 loss on $399-priced PS3, says new report" article GamesIndustry. It's still pricey, and even after the PS3 launch, it's too early to get either one.
  24. And just what the **** was the point of this? We know the season was awful, we don't need the bloody details. Geezus.
  25. None taken, but since I've been here, we've been consistently weak with attendance at basketball games, especially after the semesters end.
