Why can't we start our own booster club with the purpose of marketing the program. Each member pays dues and we meet and create our own campaign to sell season tickets to our alumni base and to get students to games, promote tailgating etc.. I think we could sell some tickets probably out sell the athletic dept. Has this been done ? if so who cares ,if done right ,aggressively it will succeed. For tickets I am thinking alumni list and phone bank, lets call them directly and get 'em off their a#$. mailings are very low response, and the people that are passionate about the program could sell it. We all want this program to succeed and this is one of the few things we can do to make it happen, if we are successful the admin cannot ignore us. right now that is the problem, we need to get X number season ticket holders to prove the worth of the program only the numbers will do it. Thoughts?

Look, there is a saying in my business "the only person you will P*&% off by asking how much thet are worth, are the ones with no money" and it is very true. The fact is we have some fans who are A*&Holes and F*&%'rs plain and simple. YES be loud and stand up and cheer your team on, but we have quite a few loudmouth jerks who, if Dickey runs them off it would be fine with me, sometimes it is better to clean house and start over. I support the Mean Green! I do not care who the coach is of what team or if he is my buddy. Do not answer with you should care because, in your opinion, someone is ruining our programs that is BS. You and I have no control over who leads our teams. It is a simple problem of imaturity to think someone has the right to say who keeeps their job because they have been a fan for X # Years and have season tickets and give $1000 to MGC. GROW UP!!!!! you are a pimple on the A*& of UNT!!! I know the truth hurts, get over yourselves GMG!

Agreed 100%- what was the JQ WR pass call? a drive killer is what I call it. That was during the only good drive qwe had and it killed any MO we were creating. At a minimum flanigan must be gone and recruiting? did anyone else notice the difference in talent level? TU has been 1A how long?

According to Keith's post All time winning %-53.65% DD Winning %-44.58% In my business that is underperformance!(spin and make excuses, but fact is fact) And don't bring up the SBC championships, conference championships have helped us, but come on the SBC is horrible! The SBC championships will not take us to the next level as the conference stands today. To put something another way that has been mentioned on this board-You can't keep doing the same thing(level of recruiting, SBC championships, non-conf game performance, gameplan) and expect better results. I was once told "A good coach can make adjustments to his game plan within three series" and I think that is reasonable. I agree with the fans that say DD has done a great job but question his ability to take us to the next level. But, I think the jury is still out let see what happens with this YOUNG team and our next recruiting class, if he can't make significant progress over the next 12 months I would look elsewhere. I do think he has earned a little patience from us. GMG!!!!

I believe the team hotel is the Clarion on 70th street (used to be the Sheraton) 1419 East 70th St Shreveport, LA 71105-4925 Phone: (318) 797-9900 Fax: (318) 798-2923 the Clarion is not close to casinos but close to good eating,etc The Remington if you are looking for something nicer downtown although the Holiday Inn is nice. I live in Shreveport and am excited to have the team staying right around the corner from my house. I really would like to put something together for all us Mean Green fans to hook up and do some partying. Anyone interested? Lal

Sorry for the implied language. But, I am not refering to the lost recruits. If good ones get stolen and we know this, why do we not recruit MORE? Or to put it another way 2-2=0 and 5-3=2new recruits instead of none. I just do not see enough thought put into this on whoever plans these things.

OK, I know we got a few with long-term potential in this years class, but if we knew that our potential starter was on the academic bubble and our potential number two was injured and having major surgery, why did we not recruit more or better at this position? Were was the JUCO QB ( I do not mean the one's that went somewere else)? I mean what were we thinking? I don't get it, anyone figured this one out? (please I have thought about the obvious answers-run heavy offensive scheme, etc) We had to know that JB was questionable grade wise. I can't beleive more people are not raising hell about this. As for doing the opposite of the fan board consensus, I think the coaches have caught on to something, and if they are not doing the opposite they should try.
