  1. Very valid point, have you reached out to Mosely and asked these same questions? Who is in charge? How much is in the kitty? Do we have any group raising money just for certain positions? I do not think any collective actually states what they are paying the players. I do not believe Mosely has anything to do with running our collectives. I am pretty sure that both are run by the major donors. I am willing to bet that someone within the Tech Athletic Department works closely with their collective and runs their social media. I too wish that our collectives were more transparent with what they have raised.
  2. Correct, under the current settings NT will be a stepping stone or a stop for players. They perform here at a high level and others will pay for their services. (it is my understanding that we made a offer to Chandler, but it was not what he was getting offered by other schools) This will continue until our fan base steps up and contributes to our collectives. We cannot compete financially with the other programs currently. Also, our collectives are split. We have a football collective and a basketball collective. Not sure many schools are doing this other than NT. So this means our donors either have to give to both or choose which program they want to support. We just need more alumni involved in the NIL than we currently have. It is not like you have to give a fortune to participate. Any monthly or yearly donation helps. Also, most kids are not getting the money they are promised from the other schools recruiting them from NT. It is a shame and in my opinion ruining college athletics, but we can either step up as a fanbase and donate to keep our kids here or continue to see them leave for more money.
  3. Are you kidding me? Seth's teams were never competitive in a bowl game. Don't get me wrong, I liked Seth, he just didn't want to be here. He didn't like Denton. What other HC would move during the football season. He checked out after he tried to take he entire staff to K State and they said no.
  4. Great idea, but will never work in today's game. The kids want the swag. Only a few schools can get away with it. We are not one of those.
  5. Wesloski can play! Saw him in HS. Hope he can contribute this season Let ‘em Run!! Mean Green for Life!
  6. We paid nearly 20 players this past season!
  7. Here is the truth: a student manager ruined the basketball teams white uniforms early in the season. That is why we wear grey at home. We do not have WHITE for this season. As far as the alternate colors: Black, Grey, etc. that is what the recruits want to see. Us OLD SCHOOL people would prefer GREEEN/WHITE, but we have to offer alternative uniforms to attract the athletes.. These kids want options! Have you looked at Instagram or Snapchat lately? Unless you are UT, Alabama or USC you need to do what these kids want. I can promise you. NO school wants to have all these uniforms options. It cost a lot of money to have all these options. I HATE that we are now using UNT instead of North Texas or Mean Green, but our President believes it is best that we use UNT for our logo. You will no longer see North Texas on any products that are authorized by North Texas. Supposedly they did a study and UNT was better? I would like to see those results. Everyone on this site went to some form of North Texas, but not UNT. Also, UNT can be made into some bas words. Mean Green for Life!!
  8. It is not only Seth, it is his staff. All great HC have excellent staffs around them. We did not lose a coach this off season. I do not want to lose Seth, but I'm more concerned of who he takes with him (probably everyone). Wherever he goes, he will have more money for his assistants. We might keep 1 or 2 if we hire 1 of them as the new HC and promote someone from the staff to a OC or DC, but I bet most of them will go with Seth and continue to build on what they started here together. If we were to lose Seth, his replacement will have to compile a staff that not only can coach, but recruit like this staff has done over the past few years. With that said, we should attract a talented coach.
  9. Did you not watch the game on TV? What are you trying to prove with your argument? It was raining and their fans showed up. It was raining in Denton and our fans base bailed for the most part. Someone earlier in this thread asked for proof of fans showing in bad weather. I watched the game when I got home so I knew of one, so I replied.
  10. Arkansas had over 51K in Little Rock Saturday in a downpour. They have won 1 game this season
  11. It is my understanding that our AD department can recommend or schedule times. Our HC would play every game at 11am if it were up to him. Hard to keep kids involved waiting around all day waiting for a game. AD department would prefer later times to accommodate our fans. Saturday showed that most of our fan base are TRUE fair weather fans! Disappointed in our turnout for a very GOOD football team. We have to do better as a fan base. We need to show up no matter the time or weather.
  12. I didn't understand our offensive philosophy in the 2nd qtr. I believe we should have run the ball more. Also, we had some dumb penalties on defense that kept drives alive for La Tech
  13. A walk-on gets nothing financially other than swag/pregame meals mentioned previously from the team. They must pay for everything unless traveling with the team. They must get a meal plan, but they can eat in the team dining hall. Even if you only get books, you are considered on scholarship. This mainly happens in Olympic sports. Those sports have to divide a number of ships by the team. Baseball now has a 25% minimum scholarship requirement for any funding. I believe baseball gets 11.9 ships for a 29 man roster. Men's golf has 4 scholarships that they must split between their roster.
